1. Whooo...that got your attention now..lol Anyway, here is whats going up: B&M built the worlds most unique ride. A DM-4D! With wooden support structure (and peeps wear 3d glasses-perhaps to watch those birds "close-up" when Fabio rides opening day). The trains (6) are ALL in the FLOORLESS mode and when each train hits the mid-course block brake, each passenger does a Chinese fire drill and enters into a new Flyer-train configuration. After, the train disengages and 'splashes' towards the Rhine river, swoops under Alpie's cobra-roll and heads back toward the station....hmmm I wonder if that covers ALL of the scenarios and perhaps speculation of what coaster-type BGW receives in '07....did this cover ALL the possible combinations?...hehe...Ok, back to work...lol Ciao.
2. Is that the park that Donald Trump and Bill Gates built?...lol I think there would be alot of sick peeps in that park...cool looking park... Look at the one I did (still in progress) and let me know-opinions...tnx http://photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/
3. I used to live in Williamsburg (Pocohontas trail) and worked at BGW for over 13+ yrs. I live in Hawaii now (11yrs) and returning back to BGW and Williamsburg by end of the year. I dont recall what that building is/was (unless it was built in last 10yrs..lol). Hey, if the Ripleys does not get built/opened they can always add a Hooters restaurant..lol Is Cracker Barrel still there? I actually liked that place..lol As far as the pottery?...Ugh...I remember as a teenager I had to go to that pitfall with mom and they would just stay there for hours upon end....talk about pulling teeth...Ill take the root canal any day!
4. I used to work in maintenance for BGW-VA. One thing I can say is be sure that you are passionate about rides and how they work (cause if the supervisor or trainer is following strict standards they will test you, and test you some more and test you, yet again). Also, if working on rollercoasters, DO NOT BE AFRAID OF HEIGHTS..lol. Generally, most of them work in shifts. Day shifts (rollercoasters) inspect the track and sub-structure while night shifts generally inspect the each and every inch of the train/car(s) as well as the station gates, control systems and the like. I used to enjoy nite shifts for several reasons. 1. way cooler temperatures at nite (especially in summer months). 2. No big bosses in park and can enjoy radio-tunes and not really be bothered so can focus on the job-and inspections. 3. More peaceful at nite (generally higher pay scale too) hence, graveyard shift. TA DAAAAAAA the end! Good luck...I loved it
5. Aloha, I recal wayyyyyy back in the days I was a ride ops for BGW....I started off the year BBW opened and then lead my way up to ride supervisor (or in some cases "ride STUPID-visor" lol. After, I became interested heavily into maintenance and then ops management. I do recall that we had to go over the SOP (Standard Op. Procedures), then actually go to the ride area and practice all the drills and so-forth. After, we began actually operating the ride itself (it was also during this time before the park would open and we had to log hours on the ride/coasters to break them in from the winter-inspection tear-downs and rebuilds). I do recal that BG parks generally require all ride operators to pass a "Competency Training" schedule to show that you can operate the ride(s) in a proficient manner. Sounds silly, but damn these insurance vendors and other strict inspection peeps and so forth. I thought they were a bit crude and funny, but now that I had management experience and so on, I fully agree on strict procedures to operating machinery and having guests ride. My advice would also be....when possible, talk to other people you know or may not know that actually operate rides. Ask questions what they like/dislike, the types of testing they go through, and so on.
6. Ok..thanks alot.....let me try to see if this works..lol 1. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i78.photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/SCR1-ParkEntranceWOA.jpg[/img] 2. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i78.photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/Midway-WOA.jpg[/img] 3. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i78.photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/WildWest-WOA.jpg[/img] 4. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i78.photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/AlpineVillage-WOA.jpg[/img] 5. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i78.photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/Italysection-WOA.jpg[/img] 6. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i78.photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/LostCityofAtlantis-WOA.jpg[/img] 7. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i78.photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/Egypt-WOA.jpg[/img] 8. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i78.photobucket.com/albums/j105/kumba9/NeffertirisCurse-InvertedWOA.jpg[/img] I hope I did this correctly...lol Thanks again.
7. Here is the link to the RCT2-World of Adventures park. Please note that I still have to get my butt in gear and finish two (2) countries-Italy & Alpine Village...lol....I welcome any comments. A special thanks to COASTERFREAK for the info and that site (thats awesome) !
8. I hope I read all of the rules correctly and post this in the manner it requires. I am posting a preview of a mega-park I designed called : Worlds of Adventure. It has approximately 5 themed areas-Italy, Egypt, Apline Village, and Wild Wild West, and Atlantis. Each area contains at least 2 coasters of some type and have worked on this off-and-on for about 5 months..lol (get bored of it at times then come back to it). I sort-of modeled the idea(s) after working for Busch Gardens themeparks, but wanted to add my own touches. My favorite part of the park is Egypt section (probably with most focus and the coaster stats are high with the hyper-coaster "extreme" rating and quite possibly the longest/tallest in the park (I don't remember..lol). I seem to keep coming back to RCT2 since I still am getting used to RCT3 and dont care for it that much (that loading time is taking forever now..lol). I welcome any comments and perhaps I will add the park as a download when I complete it (maybe when BGW finished their new ride..lol)..I hope peeps enjoy it. Thanks! **PS. I cannot load the screens because file size is too large. How do I reduce size of jpeg to get it under 150k?...(average size is 772kb) thanks!
9. Aloha, Earlier today I spoke with an executive at BEC-St Louis and we had quite a chat (good ol days when we both worked at BGW/BGT). I will be planning on visiting the park this summer to finalize deal on job offer with BGW (and possibly BGT as well). I can only add to the rumor-mill fire that a new Dive Machine (B&M) will occupy the New France location in 2007. He/She remains confidential of course out of respect for their job...lol There was even a discussion (among management) about the new S&S 4-D coaster!!! Although I am not inclined to take the latter, I have a new found idea that CP may indeed get a 4D coaster INSTEAD of the Hyper (dueling?) flyer(s). Another way to track this rumor is that there was a person that lives in Ohio close Clermont Steel Fabricators and possibly can be looking at the lot for new track arriving (outside the factory) possibly by mid/end of summer. Although I could not "squeeze" any more information out of him/her, I can be pretty positive a DM will go into the BGW property in '07 (still hoping perhaps a flyer would be quite awesome with the terrain). Look for an announcement perhaps mid-summer (if similar to the Drachen Fire and AP, and Alp. announcements). Exciting news indeed and hope we are ALL in for a nice surprise next season.

12. here are some off the wall dreams that would add more fuel to the fire. 1.A linear induction-launched floorless coaster. 2.A launched 4D/S&S coaster (over200ft). 3. A HYPER-water coaster..lol 4. Busch goes all out and adds the (CP rumor) HYper Flyers (DUELING) 5. A 200+ tall woodie with a loop and shock the ENTIRE industry (remember this is BGW and the past issues with woodies here) 6. A totally new B&M concept kept under wraps (remember those early tales on the Batman ride and 6Flags came about and how EVERYONE laughed when they announced it at press conference?); Look where we are at now....whose laughing? B&M-all the way to the bank!
13. The last post (made by Dragonlord) is right on the money. Management decided to go with Arrow based primarily on the sole purpose of its past relationship with Nessie and BBW. I have noticed several postings questioning certain specifics that happen or not happen and I can assure most of the people here that it was a complicated issue more than most people know at best. I still have some original documents/memos and preliminary design plans and other "gift items"..lol on the whole fiasco on how DF came about. While most parks can look back on their mistakes (if we could call it that), I believe there is no real proven method on what could result. Poor location was certainly a big role in the success and failure of the end result, but the "politics" involved certainly played precedence over what REALLY was designed or envisioned for that location. Also, (similar to Hawaii here) the local officials have some sort of charter in the master plans regarding this area (including Kingsmill and BG). If anyone works for the county or local gov't. and could supply/post that charter can open the light into the discussion. Also, remember the issues with BBW and how Arrow eventually took over that project. In fact, that almost ended in NO coaster and having a small coaster as a back-up even when all the land/footers were being prepared. DF taught many execs/management (and even ARROW) a good lesson on quality planning (or lack thereof).
14. Aloha. I worked on DF for a short period of time (before the 1st corkscrew was removed after block brake) and I just have to say....OUCH....Dogh.....Ouweee.....HELP...lol I recall during maintenance was a NIGHTMARE and track inspections were brutal (notice the braces around the cobra roll/bat-wing element in later years versus opening year operations). I believe my ride count was about 500 something, but what i DO miss was riding/maintenance inspections AT NITE....amazing views! Too bad B&M couldnt perform that ride (similar contract went to BGT) and the ride would still be in operation today. But, my own personal belief was while working at the park...it was an extremely remote location (despite being close to the Festhaus)....the entrance was poorly designed and the area just needed more time to be expanded. Ahh but not all hope is gone forever. My crystal ball and contacts believe there is a WOODIE in the works for 2012...at the same time with a new country-theme/expansion.
15. The last pic posted was one excellent observation why B&M has their engineering so-well-oiled. 1. They use that weight-system integrated into the chain-lift system. 2. If we all notice (I believe most all B&M rides) that the drive-wheel system and guide-locaters (those funny-looking brake-like runs in middle of track before each lift) have the train speed match the lift speed as well as determining the weight of each train (similar to the DD@Universals IOA).
16. As a former employee of BGW/BGT the company always has a unique way of salivating peoples appetite for new attractions. I will be leaving this Hawaiian rock at the end of the year (after 12 yrs) and returning to work for BEC-BGW. To add my 2 cents worth lets peer into past history and add fuel to the rumor fire. 1. Recall when Kumba and DF were built (DF was orginally going to be done by B&M, but several issues broke down and went back to Arrow-a stape of BGW at the time). Then, notice how BGT had very similar aspects of DF (supports, etc) that were "orginally" to been incorporated into DF (I wish B&M did DF since working on it and riding it became a nitemare within itself). Then, part 2. Look at Montu (test bed) and then BGW posted APLPENGEIST (topping Montu-height/inversions-so on. Based on the trend(s) that B&M signed another 4 (or 5) yr. agreement and the DIVE MACHINE/BEC clause, the best bet is BGW WILL build a new DM &! add another 1-2 inversions (possibly a new pretzel-type inversion with a 0-g roll incorporated). I believe the rumor that I recieved is not 200, but 226ft. tall (over by Flume) and head towards the Rhine river area. Two additional (future expansion rumors to wet your palet). 2012-a woodie will be installed at old DF site (trees lining that end of property will buffer the noise level away from Kingsmill) and the politics and other issues based on a charter will expire. Also, I recall a NEW design from B&M being in final stages of testing and believe that we may ALL be wrong and Busch gets the newest B&M creation. And to add one LAST confusion dream..lol; CP adds its dueling/hyper flyer, BGW waits till 2008 to add its OWN Flyer (record breaker) and just re-themes NEw France, adds small/medium rides/shops/eateries and 2008 has its signature ride for that section (remember 26month permits and so on). Ok off to go swimming..lol...Aloha..

18. Posting a reply to this message board. I recal when working for BGW-that the Big Bad Wolf starting experiencing this annoying chain engagement. In fact, there were several times when the ride was e-stopped because the chain rebounded inside the channel and the noise sounded like a heard of shotguns going off. To remedy this (I believe it was after the 1990 season or around there) we installed a trim brake system before lift#1. I believe the chain dogs have been re-designed or modified to reduce this condition (similar to Drachen Fire when it was operating)-but DF had a DC-motor system in which a sensor after the station detected the train speed and the lift speed match the speed of the train(s).
19. Aloha, while some rumors are still "flying" around about new rides/coasters in '07 let me add some fuel to the fire and can make comments as needed...lol Here are some of my projections based on having experience at Both BGW and BGT and knowing some engineers in the coaster industry. 1. CP- a record-breaking B&M flyer (possibly duel)....remember Mr. Kinzel is retiring and he wants to place his mark on history (started w/ Magnum and end with record breaker). Not much in terms of speed/height except perhaps the 1st Hyper-Flyer(s); Maverick was a trade-name recently applied for, so a jet-fighter type theme perhaps? (hmmm wonder what Paramount would think about that?) 2. Here is an odd rumor that one could ponder upon....there was a possible link between BGW and SS/Arrow to add a 4D coaster to the New France section (lift about 185 ft and using terrain of course in standard BG style), but my bet is on a new concept from B&M on another US-version Dive Machine...205ft tall with 2 (possibly 3 inversions)-Immelmen/Dive loop/Verticle Loop-corkscrew. Remember that the B&M agreement between them and Busch is NOT to have another Dive coaster for 5 yrs...(fairly long time I would say), but Both Busch parks had similar situations with Aplengeist and Montu...(I would love/wish they build a woodie for sure). 3. Future expansion (old Drachen-Fire area) on another country and a new coaster concept....either B&M or Intamin or S&S (remember the old Pipeline-concept?) look for new track/train technology to perhaps bring this back.
