I would post the old Arrow versions of the suspended coaster(s). After issues with the Bat from PKI, Arrow appeared to struck gold with BBW and Ninja. Some installations occured in Japan and England (The Vampire-if I stand corrected), but never really took off since Hyabusa and it (the fad) eventually faded. Granted, the suspended design should be maximized by the use of terrain, but it is rather unfortunate not to see any 'newer' designs or updated ideas to really draw new interest. I personally loved working on BBW and maintenance was not as bad as some have perceived. I wish S&S could reinvigorate this design somewhere down the line with a fresh and new approach/design.

I thought Lars would be more calm now that he has a kid-apparently not. On a side note, although Metallica has gone through some recent issues as of late and they did a 'reality-type show' on MTV or VH1- I'm curious when the next band will have the same. I nominate the dysfunctional band: Van Halen. God, WTF is happening to this group? It has been probably my favorite band (especially during the DLR-era) and now they can't even put out decent music. Gary Cherone? Please. We want to listen to music, not some back-yard amateur talent contest). Ok enough of the rant. Go 'Talica!

Here is a couple (80-ish style dry humor). Ahh the good 'ole High School days. 1. Your mother (mama) is so dumb, it takes her 1 1/2 hours to watch 60 Minutes. 2. Your mama wears combat boots in the shower.

I posted several of my movies earlier, but I too wish to add Dumb & Dumber (original movie-not the sequal). But how come no one has posted Christmas Vacation (Chevy Chase) except me? That movie is absolutely hilarious. Come on now, don't we all have someone in our families that is dysfunctional or resemble some portions of that movie?

Rest of Story & Credit link: http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/5822020?FSO1&ATT=HCP>1=8393 I love cycling and actually enter racing events in Hawaii and FL. I am a bit disturbed by all of the drug scandals that occur within the sport. It quite possibly is the sport that has the highest percentage of "positive" results and the UCI is doing all it can to really grab hold of securing more strict procedures in its testing policy. Any cycling fans out there care to comment? Or, just a general comment about the recent events that occured.

Name chosen for new BGE coaster?
Jon Sabo replied to Jon Sabo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
On your mark.....get set..... BGE has announced that AUGUST 23, 2006 will be the official day for announcing of is new attraction for the 2007 Season. This will also coincide with the Jamestown 400th Anniversary. [/b] -
Rob Trujillo is the fairly large dude that looks like a former wrestler and has that long nappy hair?..lol

Bob Rock actually lives on Maui. I used to work on their cars when I worked for a local Lexus dealership a few years back. I honestly believe he's a great producer and a good, fun guy to chat with and share some of his stories. I also believe he was one of the producers trying to get Motely Crue back together awhile back (during the time when Mick Mars was going through his health issues). Lets hope the 'Talica' band can bring back some of that old magic. Who is the new bassist since Newsted left (and is now on the show-Rockstar with Supernova)? Wasn't the old bass player from Ozzy with Metallica now?

That could be a commercial for another one of those dysfunctional ads for 'Acid Reflux' I guess we can see why Coke and Pepsi are recording record profits now. Sales are jumping 12+% due to Menthos incidents!. Wheee. Anyone remember mixing pop-rocks and coke? That was a strange fad. I think I remember a small kid actually dying from mixing those items together. I don't even know if pop rocks are on the market anymore. Another (disturbing) thing that I witnessed before (about 7-8 yrs ago) was someone taking an anti-acid tablet and feeding it to a seagull and the bird literally exploded its guts all over the place. The kids thought it was a fun way to kill the day, but what an idiotic move to kill time on a boring day (not to mention the cruelty to the animals). Needless to say the local Parks department got hold of the incidents and the boys were taken away in a plush Hawaii police cruiser. Hmm.

^perhaps she did have something to do with it. Also, with a dog named Tinkerbell, perhaps that lead him to the 'dark-side'.

I'm curious what his shirt said on the front. Did it actually say "Fucla"? Is that in reference to F** LA? or a moniker against UCLA? Darts are a BIG thing in Hawaii (for some reason). There are even contests to win food/beer, sushi/food and so on. You would figure betweeen the bars/beer drinking, Karaoke, sushi-eating and dart-playing that there is some sort-of weird combination to all of that. It looks like a fun way to kill the day at least. I would bet the heat was another reason to keep all activities indoors (a/c).

^Just provide theming with 'spidey-netting' all over the place and I'm sure there could be alot of creativity to theme it towards a Spiderman-theme. And, if any line-jumpers perform their irritating duties of pissing off guests, a spidey-net could fall from the que and capture the victims and release them somewhere into the park at random.

The link supplied in regards to the themepark in in Chinese. Anyone seen or know how to make it into an English-language? The site appears somewhat difficult to browse through, but I would be interested in finding more photos and information (ride names, etc) about the park.

Son of the Sad-and-Pathetic Photo TR: PKD, 7-23-06
Jon Sabo replied to cfc's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I have two additional comments. 1. Why the heck did they paint Shockwave that candy-cane like color(s)? It almost makes me want to puke. 2. Hey Chuck? Would it be suffice to say that the PKD crew is better than the BGE crew? Both in terms of ride operation/capacity and friendliness and stacking/non-stacking of coaster trains. -

^Awesome article. Thanks for supplying the link. It really does show that determination and desire to create your dream job into reality can be achieved if a person wants it bad enough. I believe Robb would also agree in his job with designing video games and such. I'm sure both Keith and Robb (TPR site owner) are living their 'dream jobs' and sharing that vision and creativity for all of us to enjoy. It is especially a God-send in times that we live in as a society (war, hunger, global issues, etc). It allows each of us to perhaps escape the daily pressures in life, even if just for a day or two. I still have the priviledge of maintaining some business aspects in consulting for the industry (in Hawaii and other parts of the US) and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It is why this forum site was created (and other sites) dedicated for themepark enthusiasts. All of us that do some sort-of work in relation to the amusement industry would be considered as ambassadors to the themepark industry as a whole. That is because our love/desire for themeparks just showcases how well the industry thrives from any of us sharing our visions and creativity. And the ability to showcase that to all members of the amusement world. So, in essence, thanks to Keith and Robb (and others-including those talented TPR site members) for sharing your work with all of us in hopes that we keep that themepark vision alive! -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Sorry to rebump this thread again, but a fairly recent news article was written about the SOB and perhaps provided some interesting viewpoints on its possible future (although it is all speculation at this point). After browsing through the rest of the photo's supplied by the earlier link, I would have a hard time deciding which park is better in terms of theming (this or IOA?). I would give the edge to this park over IOA simply because it is almost beyond words (from the pics supplied). The attention to detail almost looks as if it was a 3D image of the RCT games and submitted in a contest. By no means am I referring to it as a 'cheesy' video game, just that it really is almost surreal in how the actual theming came to fruition. I absolutely love the creativity and arcitecture put into the park and quite possibly spend an entire day just admiring the attention to detail (the second day spent for rides-of course).

I recall Keith McVeen was doing some (incredible) work on the site and showcasing his talents for awhile. But, I believe I recall him attending college and becoming an engineering (or design) student. I think school is more than likely 'his' main focus now. In reference to the other members/site owners, I have no clue. As you stated, the site hasn't been updated for quite sometime; which is rather unfortunate. I thought there was an email link near the bottom of the page. Give that a try.
