  1. no did you "go commando" today?
  2. ^oh damn. You should have told her..."shut up. dont make this about you."
  3. Interesting turn of events. I was there the middle of May and it wasn't this bad. As for all the trash in those pictures, why weren't the ride ops sweeping the station areas. I mean with one train waits, there's plenty of time for them to at least hit the areas immediately next to the platform/gates. I know at least in the parks I have worked at, cleanliness was always paramount because cleanliness reflects saftey in the minds of customers. And the blatant sitting and cell phone use! Most service jobs PERIOD dont allow you to do that.
  4. I've been there twice, last time was back in Aug of 2001. Its ok. Not the greatest place in the world, but eh you deal with what you got.
  5. It could have been worse...you could have visited the Adventuredome at Circus Circus. HAHA!
  6. Elissa! I am so adding you! The Myspace pandemic is growing....muahahaha!
  7. Wow Derek, must be nice to be able to book all your flights like that. Rich are we? LOL
  8. Simply put...Insanity swings off the edge of the building. More info can be found here... http://www.insanityride.com/
  9. Daft Punk LIVE...now thats a show! What I will do to see a Basement Jaxx performance! haha Anyways, about Madonna. This album is great, well the beginning and end are... and so I would have liked to see the concert. It was here back at the end of May. The first show sold out so they added another which sold out. Tickets started were priced $100 - 1,000.
  10. I have flown American, United, America West/US Air, Delta/Song, Continental My favorite was Song. Sure it was a bit gimmicky but they had low fares for non-stops between LAS - MCO. I used them quite a few times when I was working seasonal at Disney. Now they have just reabsorbed themselves back into mainline Delta. I've been pretty loyal to America West/US Air since 2002 therefore I have many FF miles with them. Unfortunately because most of my travel is work related recently I don't always get a choice, but on the upside is that I have at least some miles on those other carriers.
  11. ^ Kevin Spacey...did you see him on SNL. It was a repeat but it was still funny as hell! I want to see Superman...im debating on going to see it in Imax 3D, but I hear that the whole movie isn't in 3D, just certain parts which makes it useless to me.
  12. That damn "Laffy Taffy" song...OMG that is pure crap.
  13. Gwen Stefani & the Bravery for Pepsi Smash were good. The dancing was awesome. The stage was really cool too!
  14. Sounds exciting! Makes sense to have them ready for the big 4th of July crowds.
  15. ^ I know I was thinking the same thing. NO MISSION SPACE? If you should have done single rider! Its not the world's best ride but its a unique experience you can say that you've done. Next time...RIDE IT! haha I was also wondering if you did Mickey's Phillarmagic at Magic Kingdom? That's a fun 3D/4D movie that I think some people just going for thrills overlook. Its a cool show, in air conditioning nonetheless! Also, what about Malestrom in Norway at Epcot?
  16. I take it that hill after the huge Raven turn is the full-full. From the CGI that looks sweet. Not really an inversion but looking to me more like a wierd spinning maneuver. Looks great!
  17. I'm not sure if they did a reprofiling, but I do know they gave it a much needed paint job when they installed the new brakes. Bright colors fade fast in this sunlight and heat. What I think is pretty interesting is that over time they have removed most of the theming that the ride once had. When it first opened the queue area was themed as a subway. The tickets were actually tokens that you put into a subway-style turnstyle to enter the queue. It was packed even with them running 4 trains. Now they rarely run more than 2 trains which means a pretty hefty wait even when the line isn't that long. You just kinda enter the queue now and get on. The trains used to have taxi cab theming, but now thats gone. When they added the new brakes they added the flashing LED flames to the sides of the trains, but even those aren't even on anymore. The headlights and tail lights dont even work half the time either. Maybe it is because they want to introduce new trains. I'm thinking even if they do have new trains they might still have OTSRs simply for the fact that it was all those rough transitions in and out of the turns that slam your body side to side. It would be nice if they just built a new ride, but that's highly unlikely.
  18. LOL! Its true tho, all the new clubs always have to be in all caps! btw...PURE is also co-owned by Celine Dion and Shaq, I guess Agassi needed some help. Speaking of Agassi, that guy is all over town. Theres 24 Hour fitness Agassi Sport (gym), Andre Agassi Boys & Girls Club, and the Andre Agassi Prep Academy.
  19. no are you suffering from erectile disfunction?
  20. Well I went down to NYNY last night. It was 109 yesterday so I wasn't about to go right after work...lol. Anyways, no new trains in operation. Just the old ones they modifed with back in 2004 when they added the magnetic brakes. That doesn't mean they dont have the new ones, but if you are familar with NYNY the station and storage area are pretty isolated so the only way to really see anything "good" would be to ride it...i was not about to pay 12.50 to get beat up! What I did notice was that there are magnetic brakes on that last downramp through the casino roof into the station (I thought they were only outside). This makes the re-entry a lot quieter and the catwalks dont vibrate as much. They look like short stationary calipers which seem to interact with the metal fin on the bottom of the cars. There is no wiring or anything to them so I think they were a very simple installation. And one more thing...as rough as this ride is, the crowds still love it cause its big and its on the Strip. They had a decent line for this thing and pretty much each train load was cheering as it entered the unload.
  21. The magnetic brakes are not in places you can easily see. They are located on the midcourse and the final brake runs which are both isolated areas outdoors on top of the casino. I think the only way to see those would be to go into one of the hotel rooms. Just as a side note, they must be moving pretty fast with this train switch because I was just there last Monday night and they still had the old trains. But I will try and go out there if not tonight, then tomorrow to see what I can dig up.
  22. Oooh...i think this calls for an investigation! haha. I'll try and stop by there for some photographic evidence
  23. Do you realize how big of an uproar there would be if SFMM was sold to a residential developer! When WetnWild Las Vegas closed, it was crazy around here. Just imagine if SFMM closed! What if they sold the park to another company? The only other regional company that has big thrills is Cedar Fair, but they have Knott's within reasonable distance. What's funny to me is that the land is very valuable because of all the real estate development, but the park was conceived as being a part of the original master plan! It was specifically built to complement the residential aspect of Newhall Land and Farm's Valencia.
  24. I think they pretty much covered it. I do have a quick question, are you renting a car? If you are, definately check out Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area, its really nice. Also don't be scared to venture off from the Strip a bit. Its gonna be hot while you're here (its been like 104 - 108 the past few days), so try to do more indoors stuff during the day. Use the monorail. Try out our new double decker busses called "The Duece". Keep in mind things that seem like walking distance arent necessarily. The resorts have a good way of making you do a lot of walking that seems pointless at times. Also stop by Tix2Night or whatever its called. They have one at the Fashion Show Mall (on the strip next to TI). They have discounted tickets for pretty much all the attractions in town including the rides and shows. Avoid the Circus Circus Buffet! Just dont set your expectations too high and you'll have fun!
