  1. Fellow 4400 fan...yay! Last night was a good night of television, but of course i forget to set the DVR...ugh! They are replaying it later this week, so I will definately watch it. I only saw the last 20 minutes and I was thoroughly confused! But it looked good!
  2. haha...go for it
  3. when you put it that way... i guess it does bring a new meaning to the term ass clown! haha
  4. i got invited to a special showing of Zumanity tomorrow night. still debating on going or not. i hear its a different kind of show cause its all specifically adult oriented (you gotta be at least 18.) it just doesnt appeal to me like the others have. im thinking i should go just cause its free and its cirque...lol
  5. That's why some of my friends as well as others keep the saying "bi then gay"
  6. It is cool to see other cirque fans. After you see one it becomes an addiction almost! I highly recommend any of the resident shows (the permanent ones in Vegas and Orlando). Why? Because their theatres have been built especially for the show meaning the best sightlines and sound systems. Plus the effects are more bold and daring than anything they could do in the tent or arena shows.
  7. not sure if i did this one yet... myspace.com/haiderodes
  8. I commend everyone that's coming out so young. Its a hard thing. But it does make me wonder, how do you know at 13, 14, and 15 years old. I guess I just went through a period of denial? Or is it just that it takes time to discover for yourself? I know we've had this discussion before, but I think its probably due to your environment how soon you "come to terms". For me its wierd. Most of my friends know, but not all of them. I dont really care if other people know or not...i mean im not flaming but we all have our days and traits. My immediate family proves to me everyday that I cannot just tell them, but I guess subconciously I do, just to get it over with. ah...these are the days of our lives.
  9. Try 5 Cirque shows in Vegas... As unbelievable as it sounds we now have KA (MGM Grand), O (Bellagio), Zumanity (NYNY), Mystere (Treasure Island), and now LOVE (Mirage). All within a stretch of less than 5 miles of each other. Some of them are literally across the street from each other and each one is doing VERY well. They are all at the same "chain" of resorts, MGM Mirage Resorts.
  10. So last night I went to see LOVE, the new Cirque show at the Mirage Resort. No pictures because they dont allow them at these sort of things, but I just thought it was too cool NOT to post anything here. If I had to describe it in one word...psycadelic! Great show, but the best part about it was the theatre. Its in a circle so pretty much every seat seems to be good. The sound is awesome. In fact there are speakers in the seat backs as well as the seats in front of you so its true surround sound! Even the entry to the lobby is bad ass. Its all silver and red with a huge british flag built into the ceiling. I noticed the floor changes color as well! As for the show itself, it has a lot more dancing that the other shows I've seen. Its based on the music of the Beatles so there was a lot of 60's era clothing. They did a great job at bringing such abstract lyrics to life in true cirque style. Some highlights are the complex stage. It can open and close in so many different shapes. Special lighting means the stage looks like it actually has "texture". Theres also two huge wraparound screens that complement whats going on as well as a variety of screens and translucent curtains that fall from the ceiling. And because this is Cirque theres definately lots of flying! Right now is a great time for anyone thinking of seeing the show as its in its preview period (the first performances started last weekend). While I could tell there were some akward moments, it was still worth the money... Thats another thing, because its in previews all seats are 25% off the normal range of $150 - $69. Regular performances start July 1st. SO if you are headed to Vegas in the near future, theres something new for you to check out!
  11. lately I've been having a lot of dreams about my mom "finding out"...strange
  12. no are you planning to ride coasters this weekend?
  13. When they were building our "beltway", they used to have events like this when started opening sections. Most of the time they were tied into foot or bicycle races for a particular charity, but they had booths and various things to do on the freeway.
  14. It seems like most Arrows are really harsh during set-ups or stacking. When I worked at the Adventuredome they were really adamant (sp?) about us not stacking because it hurts when coming into closed ready brakes at the end of the ride. Another sharp stop used to be on Lightning Bolt, the Intamin/Arrow mutated coaster that used to be at MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park. There was a wierd, unbanked turn between the trim brakes and the final ready brake. When stacked, that second train would slam into the last ready brake sending you not only foward, but also to the left...very painful.
  15. So I was reading the thread on most messed up coaster moments and I starting thinking about sharp stops on coasters. You know the feeling...train enters the brake run and BAM train stops and you keep moving forward into the restraint. I wanted to know if you are sadistic enough to actually like these sharp stops and/or which rides that you've experienced have the most powerful ending brake runs? For me its first set of brakes at the end of California Screamin'. Close second is Manhattan Express, theres like a trillion sets of brakes between the last bunny hop and the unload station.
  16. Already visited: Disneyland Resort (twice) USH KBF SFMM Plan to visit: SFOT SFMW WDW
  17. Thanks for the TR! I felt the same way about my grad nite...it was cool, but I wasn't that impressed. The best part was the CM interaction at all the rides. I'll never forget hearing "anyone caught smoking in line will be shot on sight" in the Indy outdoor queue. At least they gave you guys fireworks! I was always a little irked that the WDW grad nites have performances and the DL ones didn't.
  18. Try to get an end seat in the second row for him on Superman...theres a little more knee room there since there are only three seats and the lapbar locking mechanism is positioned differently. Its not vital, but might make it a little more comfortable.
  19. Is this post for real or are you joking? Psyclone has individual ratcheting lap bars, meaning it doesnt matter if a larger person was behind you or next to you, your lap bar would have still come down. The only coaster at SFMM that has restraints that lock in a single position for the whole car is Goldrusher. I think this myth is busted.
  20. I found these around town... Speed: The Ride "Zero to Blur" Manhattan Express "The world's first "heartline" rollercoaster" Canyon Blaster "The world's largest indoor double loop, double corkscrew roller coaster" Sling Shot (at the Adventuredome) "Who Needs Gravity?"
  21. The first I remember was the Wacky Soap Box Racers at Knott's when I was like 5. My first looping was at the same park with Boomerang when I was 7.
  22. I always thought the third lift on Big Thunder Mtn was messed up. Its the "earthquake" scene so the track pitches from side to side which I think is pretty unique and something I have yet to see on any other coaster. That first upward turn on Flashback was always the HOLY S*** moment for me at SFMM.
  23. Although I didn't ride it Riptide at KBF was pretty cool to watch. I know this ride gets mixed reviews, but the crowds love it as often there is a bigger crowd watching than riding. I especially love when the gondola flips and the bottom smacks the water sending it down onto the crowd. It seems each cycle is pretty much the same however it depends on the weight whereas one cycle I saw had 6 free swinging flips while most of the others were 3 to 5 flips.
  24. Last night we had to volunteer at the Loverboy concert in Henderson. Our volunteers are excited about volunteering at the Morris Day and the Time concert coming up in August.
  25. if this is a Six Flags decision then this wouldn't effect Speed: The Ride. I swear I saw it operating last night.
