  1. Did they really rebuild Raging Spirits? What all did they change to enhance the experience?
  2. They have the same ride layout though. Just a mirror image. I think that was what he was implying.
  3. ^ Totally disagree with that. The feeling that riders experience facing straight down at the ground is absolutely amazing and a vast improvement over the other direction, in my opinion at least.
  4. It looks fantastic and I love the redesigned restraints!
  5. ^^ Wes, the likelihood of that happening is incredibly slim. The lapbar trains weigh substantially more than the OTSR restraints, meaning that there would need to be support work changed, but we can still hope.
  6. ^ They ended up deciding to retire the ride altogether now. I think it is clear that there will be some kind of ankle restraint for a 90 degree tilt. This is definitely going to have some elements of an over the shoulder restraint, but we will have to see. I just hope that this is better than Drop of Doom because I was really disappointed. Even after some of the 2nd gen Intamin towers, the ARM Larson towers are still the best, IMO.
  7. As much as I would love for BGT to get an Intamin, I was really disappointed by Lex Luther: DOD at SFMM. I hope Intamin's other towers are better than DOD.
  8. I am heading to the park tomorrow. Anyone have any updates on ride statuses? How should the lines be tomorrow? I went ahead and bought a FlashPass so that should help. Are any rides running one train now that previously were not?
  9. Okay well Alan Schilke is my hero. He is like a god among men. The ride is fabulous. Really amazing. It's short, but it never let's up. I got 23 rides in and I bet tomorrow will be even better!
  10. Hey guys, I can't wait to see all of y'all tomorrow at the media event and then Thursday at the travel channel shoot. Who here is going to be there in addition to me?
  11. Oh, I thought that it works with the gold and higher flashpasses.
  12. Sounds good, I am planning to get a Platinum FlashPass. Where in that plan should I ride Drop of Doom?
  13. Hey guys, I was just wondering, what is the best plan of attack at SFMM if I want to hit all of the coasters in one day? It has been about 5 or 7 years since I was at the park. Also, when does YOLO Coaster open? I am visiting the park somewhere between May 19th and May 23.
  14. Hi, I was just wondering, when and how are we supposed to return the release form for the travel channel and media day appearences? Also, how long before the start time of the event should we be at the park? I hope to see a lot of you guys at the park on those two days!
  15. I'm going to be there the same day so I've been watching closely. The only event happening around that time is grad night on 5/21. 5/20 should be the ideal day to go for short lines as it's a Monday with no holidays or events. The only ride that I've heard is in rehab is Apocalypse, which has been running one train as a result. I don't know how long the rehab usually takes, it could be back to normal by then. On the flip side, Riddler's is actually back to two trains for the first time in forever, I'm excited to be able to ride without the hour+ wait Any other rides operating with just one train right now?
  16. I am looking at going to the park sometime around May 20th. Does anyone have anything to report on the park currently? Any major rides in rehab? Anything big I should take note of?
  17. I will see you guys there! I am going to the media event and the travel channel shoot.
  18. Screw the Timberliners. I would do anything, yes anything, for Holiday World to get a Mega-Lite. I will sell a kidney and my liver if it would help get a Mega-Lite to Holiday World, or anywhere in America.
  19. So how much has the ride been breaking down on a daily basis?
  20. Just looking at the wheel assembly on that train makes me cringe. A single bench train should have one pair of wheel assemblies, like B&M with their assemblies or GCI.
  21. While I understand what you mean by higher gate price, I get frustrated when people point out the high prices at SeaWorld, Disney Parks, Universal, etc.. Sure, the prices are higher, but the parks also spend so much more each year on new attractions. Have you ever heard of a Six Flags sinking 200 million into one ride like Radiator Springs Racer? No, but you get what you pay for. High prices, higher value. It really bothers me when Disney posts anything on Facebook and all anyone can say is about high prices. Sorry, if this went off topic.
  22. Today, Intamin is one of the most prominent and respected manufacturers in the world, but how did that happen? With the exception of Superman: Escape from Krypton and Tower of Terror II, they never really seemed to gain much prevalence until the Superman coasters. Don't get me wrong, they definitely had presence, but there was almost a sudden surge of Intamin coasters in the early 2000's. Is there any reasoning behind this? Does anyone have any other information on Intamin's history?
  23. ^ It is much more intense due to the extra helix level on the last helix. I also think it was smoother than Laser.
  24. Does anyone have any pictures or videos of this happening? I am really interested by this.
