Did they really rebuild Raging Spirits? What all did they change to enhance the experience? -

It looks fantastic and I love the redesigned restraints! -
Alton Towers Discussion Thread

^^ Wes, the likelihood of that happening is incredibly slim. The lapbar trains weigh substantially more than the OTSR restraints, meaning that there would need to be support work changed, but we can still hope. -
^ They ended up deciding to retire the ride altogether now. I think it is clear that there will be some kind of ankle restraint for a 90 degree tilt. This is definitely going to have some elements of an over the shoulder restraint, but we will have to see. I just hope that this is better than Drop of Doom because I was really disappointed. Even after some of the 2nd gen Intamin towers, the ARM Larson towers are still the best, IMO.

I'm going to be there the same day so I've been watching closely. The only event happening around that time is grad night on 5/21. 5/20 should be the ideal day to go for short lines as it's a Monday with no holidays or events. The only ride that I've heard is in rehab is Apocalypse, which has been running one train as a result. I don't know how long the rehab usually takes, it could be back to normal by then. On the flip side, Riddler's is actually back to two trains for the first time in forever, I'm excited to be able to ride without the hour+ wait Any other rides operating with just one train right now?

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Screw the Timberliners. I would do anything, yes anything, for Holiday World to get a Mega-Lite. I will sell a kidney and my liver if it would help get a Mega-Lite to Holiday World, or anywhere in America. -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Just looking at the wheel assembly on that train makes me cringe. A single bench train should have one pair of wheel assemblies, like B&M with their assemblies or GCI. -
While I understand what you mean by higher gate price, I get frustrated when people point out the high prices at SeaWorld, Disney Parks, Universal, etc.. Sure, the prices are higher, but the parks also spend so much more each year on new attractions. Have you ever heard of a Six Flags sinking 200 million into one ride like Radiator Springs Racer? No, but you get what you pay for. High prices, higher value. It really bothers me when Disney posts anything on Facebook and all anyone can say is about high prices. Sorry, if this went off topic.

Today, Intamin is one of the most prominent and respected manufacturers in the world, but how did that happen? With the exception of Superman: Escape from Krypton and Tower of Terror II, they never really seemed to gain much prevalence until the Superman coasters. Don't get me wrong, they definitely had presence, but there was almost a sudden surge of Intamin coasters in the early 2000's. Is there any reasoning behind this? Does anyone have any other information on Intamin's history?

^ It is much more intense due to the extra helix level on the last helix. I also think it was smoother than Laser.
