Walibi Holland Discussion Thread

Does anyone have an update on Xpress? RCDB has it listed as SBNO. -
I was at the park and I talked to the operators. They told me that there was something wrong with the wheels the second and third cars. The ride evaccuation, according to the ride operations supervisor and mechanic, was due to a computer glitch which was caused by something, she said a bird or something, that set off a sensor, causing the ride to shut down. I did get two rides in before it shut down. One in front and one in back. Having ridden El Toro and The Voyage, I can say that NTG is hands down the most amazing, ejector air ride I have ever ridden. It was absolutely incredible in the back seat.

No 90 degree U-turn? -
Hey Guys, So here in Texas we have tons of water parks, but most of them go unnoticed. One of these unnoticed parks is Splashway Waterpark. Recently, Splashway announced their 2011 addition and had a naming contest. I submitted a name and I am now one of the finalists. Please vote for my ride name (Pirate's Plunge or The Plunge) by going to this link starting on March 11, 2011: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Splashway-Waterpark/111703035528524?sk=wall This would really mean a lot to me if you guys would do what you guys did for I-305 in the about.com poll. Here is the email I received:

What ever happened to RCCA? Are they still in business? -
Robb & Elissa go to Park City, Utah!
coastercrazy216 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We don't, no. But I can see why people do. I mean, they have a lift hill, they run on tubular steel track, and some of them are more thrilling than real coasters! I mean, I count wacky worms, but not this. Makes no sense, not even to me! --Robb I don't either, but I see why Jeff does. -

I love the Alpine Coaster and great POV! Robb, do you count the Alpine Coaster as a credit? -

I wish I could have gone to the park this summer, but my mother said no at the LAST MINUTE. It was very irritating. I can't believe how amazing it looks. -

I have seen pictures and videos from this place. It looks freaking amazing. -
Speed and Saw
coastercrazy216 replied to dominoes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have been on both and I find that the pacing on Speed is impeccable; however, the actual ride itself leaves a lot to be desired. I really like Saw, but overall, Speed is better. -
Lagoon Discussion Thread
coastercrazy216 replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really love Lagoon. It still has that family owned feel to it, even though it continues to grow. It has a really great ride selection, but I wish they had another big coaster. Other than how terrible their waterpark is, I have no complaints. Operations are awesome, the lines are always moving, and everyone is friendly. -
Photo TR: Celebration City (Defunct)

At IAAPA, I met this nice lady who told me that her husband was one of the people behind all of the rides at SDC and CC. She was telling me all of these stories about the design process of Wildfire, Powderkeg, and others. I asked her why they closed CC and she explained that the park had very low attendance. It was designed to make SDC a full experience. Spend one day at SDC and another at CC, but people only wanted to go to SDC. Eventually, CC became too unprofitable to operate and with the poor economy, they saw no other options. For a while, they did consider moving the Wildcat, but the coaster has already deteriorated to the point where it will probably never operate again, unless they invest almost as much money into the ride as it originally cost. Several of the other rides, while salvageable, are not right for the other parks at the time. While sad, it was the right business decision at the time and we will probably never see this park open again. I learned a ton from this lady, her husband, and kids about the park. If anyone wants to ask a question, PM me. -
Basically here is what each has: Park City Mountain Resort: 1. Alpine Coaster 2. 4-lane Alpine Slide 3. 4-lane Zip line Olympic Park: 1. 1-lane Alpine Slide (built around 2005 and it is terrible) 2. 2 4-lane Zip lines (One is more extreme than the other) I only know all of this because I lived up there until 2004.
