  1. Shane, what are your thoughts on ProSlide? I find that their rides are extremely visually appealing, but for some reason, many parks go with White Water West. Can you shed some light onto this?
  2. Shane, When it comes to the primary play structure, are we looking at an exact clone of the original play structure from White Water West in addition to the Polin attraction, or are you guys going to take the throne from Hawaiian Falls and Mount Olympus and add some crazy slides too?
  3. Where did you hear this from? According to the park, it is still in operation.
  4. ^^ It's crazy to think about how much Wicked Twister has changed since it opened. The added supports and train modifications really make it look different to me at least.
  5. I am not really understanding what was so special about this ride. If anything, it seems like a knock-off Pirates. I personally say that a new coaster will be a much better use of that space primarily just because of how cheap the ride looked.
  6. ^^It might be "time," but NTAG has served the park tremendously and to the GP it is a new ride. Hell, to the GP, Mr. Freeze backwards is a new ride and that is what matters. The park doesn't operate for us enthusiasts, they are a business and they have to turn a profit. They can't go building 15 million dollar rides every two years without going broke. Remember the last time SF tried that strategy? It failed miserably. Besides, I do not think there is really enough room for a ride of the magnitude we would all like in that area of the park, unless they want to destroy the beautiful setting of Judge Roy Scream. Based on all the rumblings that I have heard and other things from friends in the industry, I would say a star flyer and possibly a small flat ride or two. No new coaster for 2013
  7. In what way are a StarFlyer and an S&S drop tower very similar? They cater in general to different audiences. StarFlyers are very visually appealing rides and generally have high ridership, which makes a StarFlyer an awesome choice for the park. Also, didn't we just get NTAG two years ago? I don't think that we will be getting a new roller coaster. It just wouldn't make sense with NRAT at SFFT.
  8. At this point, I bet the main expenditures will be for SFFT, SFMM, SFNE, and maybe one more park. SFOT?
  9. Having been on a few Euro Fighters, I would say that I would prefer an El Loco. Iron Shark had an especially awful rattle that was pretty much painful. I cannot imagine how awful it would be with OTSR's.
  10. SFGAm got the flagship 2012 addition for the Six Flags chain. I highly doubt that they will get anything of X-Flight's magnitude for at least two years.
  11. Has Mammoth received the row boat style raft yet or is it still just the circular raft? Paula, do you have any information on this?
  12. Hi-Miler was missing from the Houston Rodeo this year. I hope that RCS can get something that is better than Hi-Miler. That thing just beat you up.
  13. If you go for the early entry, the causeway might not be too bad if you head in around 8:30 AM. Go between 9:30-11:00 though and it's going to be quite crowded. If you leave to go to lunch in the afternoon it shouldn't be too bad, but leaving when the park closes can get pretty bad. You're better off leaving about an hour early or staying and hanging out until the traffic dies down when the park closes. Actually considering the fact that it is a causeway, I think that CP does a very good job of getting the traffic in and out efficiently. I always stay at Breakers or Camper Village so I can't comment on how the early entry works at Castaway Bay, but would assume it's the same as all the other resorts. They give you a receipt that gives you the early entry with ticket purchase (which you can buy there). You get one hour of ERT on whatever rides they decide to open. Usually, it's Millenium Force, Maverick, Raptor, Iron Dragon, Kiddieland, Max Air (or Skyhawk) but they may change things around from time to time. Have fun...I'll be there too! Supposed to be in the mid-eighties this weekend so you will probably see me and my clan at the swim-up bar at Soak City on Saturday! I am from Texas so mid-eighties is no where near bad weather. It's rather nice actually. Anyway, does anyone have any information about Castaway Bay? Has anyone stayed there? Anyone have any general tips for my first trip to Cedar Point? I am going from Saturday evening until Monday night
  14. I am going to the park this weekend and I am staying at Castaway Bay primarily because of the convenience and the waterpark. Is the traffic on the causeway really that terrible? We are going to the park on Saturday and Sunday. Also, how does the early entry to the park work?
  15. Honestly, if it's an airtime machine and it's a good ride, I could care less about wood or steel. I would prefer a more well rounded experience, but I can give that up. I have about two days and the possibility of a flash pass and I haven't been to either
  16. Hi there, I am going to either Cedar Point or SFGAdv for my senior trip, but I can't decide which one. I want to go to the park with the best overall collection of coasters. Should I go to a different park than these two? Thoughts?
  17. ^How is the launch? It seems like it was gradual, but at the same time, forceful.
  18. Elissa, Do you have any idea what they were planning for the refresh? I wonder why RCDB still has Thunder Dolphin listed as operational and the spinner listed as SBNO.
  19. I have been reading some things on the forum and I was just wondering if anyone would please give some updates and explain what is going on with La Qua. I am very curious as to the current condition of the park as it seemed like a wonderful park.
  20. Sounds great! I love Cowabunga Bay and cannot wait to see it grow!
  21. So Shane, have you revealed what new hotness 2012 will bring to Cowabunga Bay?
  22. I think that this is the most unique and probably the most forceful B&M we have seen in a while. The transition from the loop to the dive loop is very different and the parts between the last inversion and the brake run were very cool. This ride really never lets up on the speed it seems.
  23. I think that Six Flags is retarded for moving Iron Wolf, a 20 year old coaster that is just awful, to the stepchild of Six Flags. That's just my opinion, but I really don't think it is a smart move for Six Flags. I think that the ride would be worth more as scrap metal.
  24. I know that the observation tower was new, but I don't know about the other rides.
  25. What new products are White Water West and ProSlide exhibiting? I am so interested in all of their products.
