The park needs to start cracking down on ride ops that do this. Maybe if enough people complain they will do something about it! Yeah I used to see them "stacking 1 train" on gold rusher for the same reason. They just start talking and get distracted and don't notice the train is waiting on the brake run to be dispatched into the station. Yeah because it is so hard to step on the relase break to push up or down the lap bar on goldrusher. I wish more ride operations approached it like the Gate Keeper team at Cedar Point. They operated like it was like a NASCAR race and they were the pit crew. Sometimes you get that at Twisted Colossus at SFMM if you get the right crew.

I couldn't agree more, this whole VR on rides trend is stupid and needs to stop. It just creates long lines due to the ridiculous load times and doesn't add anything to the ride experience. And frankly it doesn't work all of the time especially in the warm weather. I didn't like it when I tried it once on Revolution at SFMM.

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
clem2754 replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Either it is 8X3 or 6X4. It can't be 9X3 as you suggest since that equals 27 people in the car. -

An Infinity coaster may make sense as well. -

Soaring with Dragon made by Intamin is a coaster in China. The stats on that coaster are as follows: 197 feet tall. 3 inversions 77.7 MPH. All of this is very close to what Kennywood has shown thus far. -

That actually makes a lot of sense.Glass indoors vs if your outdoors, the plastic cup. I have seen that at a lot of places. -

That would make sense, but I think it’s more likely to go to CGA, where there is already a permit in place for a 210 foot tall steel rollercoaster. Between that and the fact that Carowinds is getting a Mack, I’d be incredibly surprised if it doesn’t go up north. http://smartpermit.santaclaraca.gov/tm_bin/tmw_cmd.pl?tmw_cmd=StatusViewCase&shl_caseno=PLN2017-12971 CGA is rumored to get their new ride in 2020 not 2019. Also the rumor is B&M for CGA. Knott's is also potentially in the market for a Hyper but both Kontt's and CGA just got new coasters this year. SFMM has not had a new coaster in a few years. It makes more sense that it is SFMM to be honest.

The correct way is slowing down. That's what I thought. For the last couple years though 95% of the time it fully stops on the mid course brakes though. I wish they could come up with a long term solution for that. If you ride it multiple times, you will notice that one of the trains will be more likely to stop and the other will glide through as it is suppose to. You can tell because one of the trains comes into the station much sooner after the second is dispatched then the other way around. It is always dealing with the mid course break run.

I was in the same boat as you last year. I went to the park all the time in the 80's and last year was my first trip back since the early 90's. We spent about 2 and half days at the park. I would goto Goliath first. Raging Bull has a better capacity to move through the line. I thought Bull was agood ride but I thought Goliath was by far the best ride in the park. I actually liked X Flight better than Raging Bull as well. Lines were typically 30-45 for X Flight when we went (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). We did do Joker first on Monday because last year the lines were really long for it. That was the only ride we got on it. I found it to be rather average to be honest. Superman was almost always close to an hour wait as well. A few of the other rides that were always at least 30 minutes to an hour were V2, Dark Knight, and Viper. The American Eagle's line was very short and they ran both sides. That brought back some good memories. Overall the park felt more crowded than Six Flags Magic Mountain which is the closest Six Flags park to me,

Dollywood Discussion Thread
clem2754 replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does anyone know the reason why Dollywood has the park open one day in August and then closed the next day in August. It seems as if the Park and Water park are never open on the same day. It seems a bit strange. -

I found it to be about the same in terms of enjoyment as X-Flight at Six Flags Great America. I think X-Flight has better near miss elements, but I found the views and overall ride on Gate Keeper very enjoyable. With that said I think Thunderbird is better than either of them. It is the complete package less no wing over drop. I should get around to riding Wild Eagle later this summer. I would expect it to be in the range of Gate Keeper or X Flight,
