  1. Now I can officially say it- Cedar Point.
  2. After giving it 48 hours since I rode Hangtime, I think I would rank Knott's coasters as follows: 1. GhostRider- Clearly the class of the park for myself. One of the top wooden roller coasters that I have rode. I really enjoy this ride. 2. XCelerator: Great Launch, just wish it wasn't so short of a ride. It is clearly below Ghsot Rider for me. 3. Hang Time: Longer ride than XCelerator, but no where near as intense. Some real good moments and I love the lighting at night. 4. Silver Bullet: Average invert. No where near the level of Afterburn, which is the best one that I rode. It is still worth riding when I come to the park.
  3. I understand your frustration coasterbill but with all honesty, I had NEVER seen that queue time website till you posted it, so if I didn't follow the thread and didn't go back 15-20 pages like I am to do, I'd have no clue it even existed, and I'd be asking the same (well, at this point because I know about it) dumb questions, I suppose. And I've been following coasters for over 20 years now. That link should just be a sticky at the top of the thread, because people are ALWAYS asking about wait times, park capacity, ride closures. But the truth of the matter is, it's all a crap-shoot. For us trying to guess, and even the park trying to guess, depending on what happens with the ride or the unpredictability of unforseen circumstances, literally nobody knows. With a park like Disney that has essentially unlimited resources on fairly mundayne rides, sure, you'll have consistency and predictability. But when it comes to Six Flags or Cedar Fair, you're roaming into pushing the limit territory, and with that come unforseen events that effect reliability. It's what happens when you have rides going 200, 300, 400+ feet in the air and are going over 100 miles per hour. FOLLOW LOOK AND UPDATE THE WEBSITE FOLKS! The web cames are good at telling you that a ride is operating or at least testing. The problem with the web cam is that it really doesn't give you any idea about the queues for most of the big rides. You have no idea about SV, Maverick, TTD, or Gatekepper. You can see Valravn and MF's queues I believe. The other 4 you don't. If you really want to cover more then replace camera 2 with something back by Maverick and SV. A shot of the midway really isn't showing much.
  4. Web cams are more useful to tell you what is open, but you don't see queue lines. Also foot traffic can be different depending on when you are looking. Reports from people are the most accurate.
  5. The reason why people should ask for people to report back is because they can accurately account for how long they waited for a ride, unlike the apps which have proven time and time again to be not accurate. I think that has been covered over and over again in these forums.
  6. Any updates today on how the crowds were for the big rides?
  7. Yeah the lift hill was a bit different. The seats do lean back so the first time up that lift hill I did start having that feeling like I was going to slide back. The dispatch felt like a military exercise. Everyone does their seat belts. They check the seat belts. Then the ops lowers the lap bars. And then they check those. I forget if they did a double check like they do on XCelerator. First dispatch was pretty quick. Second time someone was having issues and they had to go through everything twice. The top of the hill, you are hanging there for a longer time than a B&M dive coaster. You have a couple of air time moments including the drop. I like the inversions. I agree this isn't going to make someone's top 50 if they have rode 300 coasters, but it is a fun ride.
  8. I got two rides in myself. The first one I was stapled, but the second I wasn't. I enjoyed the second one more. Also my second ride was at dusk and they turned on all of the lighting on the ride and the ride really looks great when they do this. Overall I enjoyed the ride. For me Ghost Rider is still the best ride in park. Silver Bullet is 4th. This ride and Xcelerator are pretty close for 2nd and 3rd. I need to ride it a little more. The line was right around 1 hour for HangTime today both times I rode it. The park was busy but the problem was that Ghost Rider was closed and that brought more traffic over to the boardwalk area of the park. Silver Bullet was basically a walk on tonight and if you didn't want to sit in the front 2 rows on XCelerator, that line was about 15-20 minutes.
  9. At least they won't have to change some of the announcement video when 2019 comes out as it will be the same as 2018.
  10. Checked the weather on the internet, in the 40's and winds in the high teens. No rain until tonight. Maybe weather is an issue?
  11. Is this being driven by weather? Of the main roller coaster only SV and MF are open. Raptor and Rougreau are also open and most of the smaller ones are open. Seems odd that Maverick, TTD, Gatekepper, Magnum XL, and Valravn are all closed or not operating at once.
  12. I am so happy to see people on this forum not fall in the category that the only rides at CP are coasters. I have been waiting (not really counting on it) for a log flume to come back. With CPs new motto they are focusing on being a vacation destination for everyone. From high thrills seekers to kids that want to see snoopy and the gang and even the people that want to sit back and relax. They don’t care about this fabricated “20”. They care about a well rounded park (profit) and they will continue to work on that for the foreseeable future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Of course they care about a profit first. They are a business. But if they can advertise that they have 20 roller coasters and not just adding kiddie coasters to get to that mark, right Six Flags Magic Mountain, I think this goes a long way in part of their plan to be a profitable park. It is one heck of a marketing plan and a big part of their overall plan. Just like that current marketing plan has "most coasters over 200 feet tall" . You take out Wicked Twister that impacts that. I don't think it is going anywhere to be frank. The years where CP gets a new coaster drives the excitement of public. Now not to turn this into an economics or business class, you have to weight it against cost of the coaster. But the years where they don't add a coaster, it doesn't drive as much interest or traffic, but their cost is down. You have to pick the right years to add them driven by the other cedar fair parks and the economy as a whole. They will get to 20 at some point. They will do something big for their 150th year of operation. I saw something interesting where they discussed building a pier/boardwalk for the 150th and part of that could include a coaster. I think the most likely coasters over the next 5 years for this park include a wooden coaster, a flyer, and family suspended coaster. Will they add all 3 in the next 5 years, I am guessing not.
  13. I want to see how they handle the ERT on the Tuesday night after that. That was what I was looking forward to.
  14. It would not surprise me if CraZAnity doesn't open until July at the earliest. Good thing it is new for 2018.
  15. 10-20? As much as I love X2, with it being as rough as it is I usually don't ride it more than once a day, twice is pushing it. I accidentally did 3 during WCB and still don't know how I survived. (Accidentally = I decided to push my luck and ride a second time, then they gave us a pass-through the station) My record for rides on X2 on one day is 9. I did 6 the last time I was at the park just this past Sunday. Sounds like the week is even that much better than Sundays. You basically have to avoid Saturdays, Holidays, and Fright Fest to avoid crowds.
  16. They need to keep it so they can get their coaster count up to 20. It won't go anywhere until they hit that number. By that logic Wildcat would still be in the park. Wildcat closed in 2011. The park is much closer to the magical 20 number now. Valravn and Gatekepper didn't exist at that point in time.

  18. I think visiting San Francisco, SF Discovery Kingdom, and California Great America makes the drive worth it. Both parks are good parks and SF is worth the visit.
  19. I think we will learn what is up when the park opens this weekend and if they are handing out 1 hour block passes. Until then everyone is just guessing.
  20. Thanks for posting. I haven't checked the past few days. Will try to make it out there either Friday afternoon or Saturday.
  21. Based on the traffic here in LA, I beg to differ..... You might find that causeway on Ohio State Day familiar. Or the turn styles to exit the stadium when Ohio St plays Clemson in football. Man they left that stadium fast and early...
  22. What is preventing you for asking about 2020 or 2021? Why stop at 2019? 2018 has only had opening weekend and it was rather..... interesting...
  23. I saw a set of 4 pictures showing something being launched off a train, but in the replies someone said it was velcro padding. from that twitter Rubbing is racing boys... It is not a real crazy ride until you get a little fender damaged...
