TFW there is unequivocal proof that Beast is actually BETTER in 2018 than it was opening year. Also Old Timers Claiming to Have Trimless Beast Rides BTFO; it's always had them. So you are saying that the ride in 2018 is better because you get a longer ride.... -

FL & FL+ are an opportunity cost to be honest. For my trip later this month, I get into the area Saturday night. May goto the park for 2 hours to get used to how things are set-up as I never been to Cedar Point. I am platinum so I get early entry, and on Sunday if I get the sense it will be busy and the weather is good, I will get the FL+, and I am guessing it will be. Then on Monday and Tuesday I am planning on not having to get the FL+ or FL. -

Why would Raptor go down? If you have high winds, MF, TTD, SV, Valravn, and Gatekepper makes sense going down. Raptor, Maverick, and Magnum should not be impacted. -
Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?
clem2754 replied to kweiss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As of this point in time I would rank RMC coasters this way: 1. Twisted Colossus- Great long ride full of ejector moments. I love rides in the back row the best. The coaster that got me interested in roller coasters again. 2. Goliath- I think I like this coaster better than others. I think each element is really strong on this coaster and don't have an issue with it being short. The hill and second inversion are just plain awesome. 3. Joker- It was a good ride. I found it to be more seat depended. I felt like I had to sit in the back to maximize the ride. Also the pacing is a little off at the end. Still a good roller coaster. This month I will have a chance to ride Steel Vengeance and Storm Chaser. Later this year I have plans for Iron Rattler, Lightning Rod, possibly the New Texas Giant, possibly Twisted Timbers, and a remote chance for Twisted Cyclone so my list will grow. You can also count Wonder Women and RailBlazer on that list as well. RMC's are my favorite coasters because you won't find a bad one. -
It was actually dead. The cheerleading event never happened. The only lines were Full Throttle which ran one train, Superman which one train, and Tatsu which broke down a few times and then it only ran one train for some of the day. Catch the theme here. Twisted Colossus was a walk on pretty much during the first 3 hours and I rode X2 a few times in a row without leaving the station as their was no line on the stair side. I really enjoy SFMM on these days.

The queue should be cleaned out by 3am this morning.... If people stuck around. According to multiple people who are at the park they cut it off at 300 people in the line as not to stay open too late. Some coaster enthusiasts are whining, but the ops have had a long enough day already, they deserve to go home at a sane time. Glad they are using some common sense with this one. -

someone here said that too, didn't they? the guy on "brake" from work. the one who talked about how the "breaks" failed. just goes to show, when you don't know wtf you're talking about, it's best not to say anything. NEver said that the brakes were 100% the issue. I said it could be the breaks or could be an operational issue. Easy to miss considering this has drawn about 12 pages of post. -

I was thinking that best case was going to be Friday. That gives you time to do a complete review of what happen and the required testing. The park is only open for a few more hours today and on Sunday. The park has 4 days of down time. You work on it over the next 5+ days and get it ready for next Friday. -

I saw two news stories on the internat thus far and basically they just give the facts and report that the 4 people that asked for EMS are back in the park. -

I have a tough time believing the track, itself is damaged. Maybe something with the breaks. I can believe the train my be impacted. Imagine they get this figured but they can't operate 2 of the 3 trains. -

Yeah, no. Wicked Twister and Maxair not being ready for the season is opening day jitters. Rides opening and closing a lot with small mechanical issues is opening day jitters. Having 2 trains plow into eachother with riders on board on your brand new ride causing visible damage to the trains and track is not "just opening day jitters". Having 2 coaster trains bump with riders on board on a beautiful sunny day is basically unheard of in modern times in the amusement industry. I'm sure they'll look into this further, but if it turns out that this wasn't operator error then this is pretty much unprecedented. I will be curious to see if this was operator error or if it was something mechanical. Like I said prior was this the first time they ran three trains while trying to do full operations with lines of 5 hours. I will be at CP two weeks from today. I get late Saturday through Tuesday. I was really looking for to Tuesday night and the ERT for SV because I am platinum. Just hoping that they get things figured out by then and that no one was hurt today. -

Saw a couple of things on twitter. One gave a step by step recount of what happen. Was today the first day that they ran 3 trains on it? -

Steel Vengeance. Cedar Point figured that everyone was coming for that ride, why open up everything else. Save $$$$ and everyone is happy with their 2 rides on SV.... -
