  1. Well, considering Disney basically re-built DCA and USH is transforming themselves to get ready for Potter (new parking garage, entrance road upgrades, restaurant upgrades, repaving all over the park, remodeling the entrance plaza...), I'd say Disney has the ability to give DLR the overhaul it needs.
  2. Well, their lease is probably pretty ironclad, so the neighbors can't say much except for them to abide by the terms of the lease...but if someone else buys the land if Cedar Fair declines their first right of refusal, I think it would be safe to say that CGA will not last beyond the lease (which is reported as being 75 years, so plenty of time).
  3. There's a difference between being the owner of the property and the owner of a license to the property. EA has no rights to use Star Wars in a theme park---just to develop video games.
  4. Even the old tents were tacky. Hope they overhaul it as well.
  5. And each time I'll post about how badly Disneyland needs a major overhaul to prepare for the even larger crowds Star Wars land will bring...
  6. Based on the virtual tour available, it looks like it's almost identical...minus Dueling Dragons of course.
  7. This could turn out to be interesting...I mean, Cedar Fair has right of first refusal but what if the NFL/9ners drive the price up too high? They have their long term lease, but if someone buys the land from under them...
  8. The slides being right up against the street was probably their intention: eye catching. Certainly must suck for those residents impacted by the parking garage though.
  9. Both of those days will be bad...it's winter break for almost every school.
  10. This is probably the frenzy they speak of: http://www.armrides.com/Brochure.pdf
  11. ^I'd say the discussion keeps coming up because most would say that they can "feel" the difference between older and newer B&M's. They never stopped producing FUN rides, but it certainly feels like they got less intense. So every time a new B&M is announced, the discussion will continue.
  12. That's pretty impressive for an overnight ferry! WAY nicer than the one we took 10 years ago
  13. Why are you afraid they'll neuter it? Pretty sure they haven't neutered any rides they've worked on before. Plus, they've already announced it will not be using the mid-course brake run any longer. That's an indication right there that GR will not be neutered. It's going to haul A$$ through the whole ride. GCI isn't known for intense airtime. If they were just doing a complete re-track, I'd feel more confident. But since some re-profiling is involved, I'm optimistic but would not be the least bit surprised if it's a tamer GhostRider (which should still be really good). Taking out the mid-course brake might actually make "the drop" less intense depending on how the re-profile of that section goes (as others have noted)
  14. I agree with that. Plus, a coaster distracts from the whole stupid Blackfish thing (marketing something with animals would just keep the spotlight on them). Hopefully fun spot can pick up the the Intamin airtime machine with a megalite!
  15. Seems like just yesterday this was announced...then delayed...then started up again...cool to see it almost done.
  16. T-Express, El Toro, or Balder...basically, Intamin mastered the art of the first drop on a wooden coaster!
  17. Agreed! It's the 16th busiest theme park in the world...they needed a hotel. Eagle's Fortress was great, but this hotel should help continue their growth for years to come. If that growth means another partnership with Intamin like T-express....
  18. Awesome stuff! Can't wait to see more...
  19. My fear is GCI will neuter the ride; my hope is that they can restore it to it's former glory. Either way I am excited to ride it again (I usually skip it since it was so terrible...)
  20. Bashers out already - lol. A few track pieces laid and we have an excitement call out level already. Developers, Owners, Builders and anyone else involved in these projects must shake there heads at throw away comments like this. Hope you never get called for jury service - Guilty my lord - but I haven't had my trial yet - you probably did it. I actually just got summoned... Seriously, It'll be a fun ride. But I'm not expecting a top 10 ride...
  21. Exactly. They're not really there to actually prevent much---it's more of a psychological thing to make people feel more secure.
  22. Oh don't be silly. Everyone knows that B&M would never build a coaster that had any airtime... Let alone ejector time. #EndSarcasm That's sarcasm? B&M does floater air quite well. Fun rides. Just nothing spectacular.
  23. DOO-DONN-PAA...DOO-DONN-PAA...DOO-DONN-PAA...
  24. I think you're right. No, this was confirmed by someone I know with a fast pass, waiting in line at that time. Again though, we all know this is not the norm. If there was any type of significant FP line, no matter the wait, its cause the ride broke down. Another poster just posted he waited 40 minutes. Better than the 130 min standby line posted when he exited, but still certainly pretty high for fastpass. Goes back again to what I said...the park as currently constructed is not designed for fastpass and the crowds they are receiving. I REALLY hope major infrastructure overhauls are in the works as part of Star Wars land...
