It seems like an easy theme for them to repeat every year, though. I still haven't seen a single Purge movie, but I feel like I understand the concept just from seeing it at HHN each year — regular civilians in rubber masks yelling "boo" over and over. It's almost as if the entire franchise was cooked up by bean counters. Blumhouse specializes in low budget horror/thrillers that either bomb or make a ton of money. They are responsible for Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Insidious, and most recently had hits w/ Split & Get Out. But they also had a ton of movies that you never heard of and movies that bombed (Jem & the Holograms...)

Oddly enough, a story was just posted the other day on a website about the origins of them. Apparently the owner of Recaro was on the board of a German soccer team in the mid 90's and their coach had back problems, so he had a custom racing seat made for him to sit during matches. From there it caught on and became a standard.

Also the construction crew. My brother is on this project and like is said before. He is keeping a tight lip about it! The last time he was this secretive was when X was in production. Does Six Flags normally do big announcement around Labor Day? Hunh...I'm half surprised the construction crew knows already...I mean at this point they could be looking at the demo page of the drawings...."we need this space cleared", dont see much reason for them to know the vertical plans....yet . All it takes is one annonomus post anywhere on the internet for a major leak....seems like the less people that know before Sept. 30th the safer their secret is...Maybe your brother doesnt know and is blowing smoke up there, but maybe he does...guess well never know Bids are shopped around well in advance. Contractors need plenty of time to secure the necessary equipment, building materials, subcontractors, permits.... And again, I'll say that people who know their livelihood depends on the confidentiality of a project will not say anything. There are only so many construction companies that work in the theme park business, and chances are they will never work in the business again if they were to leak something...

Believe it or not, very rarely does something get out that was not intended to get out. People in the business understand their livelihood depends on confidentiality. The people who do actually leak are the ones who end up out of the industry, whether its their actual career or running a theme park website.

Last season I decided on a whim the dodgers were playing at the diamondbacks, so why not hop on a flight to burbank and check out the stadium? Once you enter, there’s a nice rotunda before the concourses Chase field has a retractable roof since Phoenix is miserably hot...and all it did was make it humid inside I forgot what these were, but one was bacon wrapped and the other was delicious Bucket list: I will enjoy a game from this pool!! Outside, there is a nice covered concourse before you enter to help shield from the heat Here was the view from my seats Instead of dugout club seats, the diamondbacks offer their premium behind the plate seats as an entire suite A local brewery sponsors the outfield bar I will give them credit for having the best food selection I’ve seen thus far! Welcome to chase field! I leave you with creepy Luis Gonzalez! They even offer value items...not seen at many parks! The premium seats all have access to club in the tunnel area. It wasn’t very exciting, as it was just a bar and not the all you can eat clubs you see elsewhere Scoreboard was nice

I wonder if some of that cost comes from rushing to get the raft ride re-opened? The labor and equipment costs are presumably higher from getting it open so quickly? -

I'll 3rd it! Very Six Flags. Including an operator joking that Joker would be down all day with a station full of guests who could not exit because the ride operator at grouper said you had to exit through the train...which had airgates closed because the mechanics were working on the ride. -

It depends on when you leave. It can be done in 2-2.5 hours as well. I left Hollywood at 10AM for the SD Fair and was to Del Mar at 11:45. -

I just asked if they had single rider and the guy at the front sent me through fastlane. -
I really hope they hire GCI to do the same treatment they did on Ghostrider to Apocalypse. Retrack the whole thing a theme it to a junkyard/Car shop were the trains are now themed to cars and the story is you are taking the cars out for a test ride and it gets wild. Also Six Flags has now trademarked West Coaster Racer and Maxx Force. I'm agreeing with the second comment. Let GCI work on it like they did Ghostie at Knotts. Apocalypse used to be a great ride. I was in my top 10 wood. I could easily marathon it, especially at night. That was great! Right now, the first half is good. After you come out of that last tunnel - it's brutal. I've always said it must be the sun. Inside the first tunnel turn, it's as "smoooth as a baby's butt." That part of the track is never exposed to the sun. I think this ride could easily be restored to it's former glory... Goldstriker is already rough. GhostRider is already rougher again (better than it's CCI days, but nowhere close to how it ran when it opened). Hiring GCI isn't going to solve the long term problems.

I didn't notice an official single rider line when I was there, they were just asking for single riders out of the standby line. Where were you doing Single Rider? Fastlane line. -
The problem with wooden coasters in environments like so cal is that they ALWAYS need TLC. Knott's still struggles with GhostRider thanks to its sheer size (still much better than it was, but definitely starting to feel it). Magic has always struggled with their wooden coasters to the point Psyclone and original Colossus first drops became I-beam track. Turn them all into RMC conversions or Intamin laminated wood rides I say!

I didn’t get there until 9:30 on a 10:00 closing and used single rider, so I was out in 15 min. But they were quoting a 45 min wait with about 50 people in line. -

Visited the park tonight to get the two credits I didn’t have... Railblazer is great. I actually think the inversions slow the pace down. Would love to see more airtime Hills in a future version, since the airtime is all ejector insane airtime! Only running one train. Goldstriker is tracking a little rough, but is a fun twister layout. Hope they take care of it in the offseason! -
As I said in an earlier post. I found out Sunday's attendance was 19,000. That's incredible! Today was much better. Only the 3 lot was full. No overflow parking today. I think it's all due to "bring a friend free" promotion. With as much space and as many rides as SFMM has, 19,000 people shouldn't feel busy at all if that number is accurate. But that also assumes the coasters are being operated at anywhere close to theoretical capacity...
