  1. This sounds more like a glorified FEC to me. Regardless, I'm sure Houstonians will appreciate having something again.
  2. Reports are saying the NHL is going to expand the number of outdoor games for Hockey Weekend in America next season to include Kings/Ducks at Dodger Stadium and Rangers vs someone at Yankee Stadium. I'll definitely be there at Dodger stadium if this is true!
  3. ^I think Joe was talking about the feat itself, not the crowd energy. I agree that the crowd is much more involved with a no-hitter or perfect game, but the actual feat of getting so many guys to strike out is more impressive than a no hitter (especially ones that involve walks & errors).
  4. Every time you post more amazing pictures I always think the same thing: I wish we had those rides in the U.S!
  5. One other thing that I think has helped pitchers is the advancement in scouting. Instead of relying on the scouting report, pitchers now have every single at bat of every single hitter readily available to them on video. The same can be said for hitters, but it is much easier for a pitcher to hide their tendencies than it is for a hitter.
  6. ^Just talk to try and attract investors.
  7. THIS. The best pitchers have a great fastball and ridiculous secondary pitch.
  8. For those of you in so cal who happen to check KNX1070 for traffic, a local plumbing company is running an ad taking shots at Carnival. The gist of it is that a family requests a plumber for a week because "they are going on a cruise and want him to be there just in case there is a plumbing emergency like clogged toilets or no running water" Loved it!
  9. ^To be fair, if it was that easy...everyone would be doing it against the Astros. They suck, but that was still an impressive outing.
  10. It's the tail end of spring break, and KBF isn't exactly known for its operations...so I'd definitely recommend the pass.
  11. Ron Toomer designed his rides with a coat hanger...so of course there was going to be some compromises.
  12. I'm curious about this - how is it supposed to be run? Could someone elaborate? What could they be doing to even screw up a seemingly simple concept? SFMM added weights to the car to prevent it from flipping so much.
  13. Because if it doesn't flip (like it was designed to do) it is EXTREMELY uncomfortable.
  14. You don't hear about it because it is awful.
  15. It's because the pictures of the ride are pure coasterporn. Great photo ops. We'll see if that translates into the ride experience...
  16. ^I would imagine this will be the busiest day of the year so far. Middle day of a holiday weekend is always the worst.
  17. With how fast mobile technology is advancing, I could see its main use being multitasking. Have one app running on both sides.
  18. I think it will last a few years while the "honeymoon" effect takes place (everyone goes because they are excited it reopened)...I give it 5 years before it is waterpark only.
  19. This is definitely a test of introducing a new brand into the parks, and how the average guest receives it. I think this will go pretty well, and wouldn't surprise me if they did something like the OZ preview for Iron Man in the Magic Eye theater as an added offering to help promote the movie and brand. Is this going to be something unique, or just somewhere to store the exhibit from comic-con?
  20. reselling magic bands seems like it would be difficult to begin with, so the legislation seems excessive. Personally I don't think it should be illegal to resale your unused days in the first place.
  21. Jealous of the tequila tour!
  22. Cue up the tomorrowland to become stark expo rumors...
  23. Flinstones BBQ at USH is surprisingly good. Great burgers and ribs.
