  1. It probably looks like crap because it is an old Cobb coaster with those Morgan trains. If the retracking gives the ride more speed and makes it smoother, it could very well be a decent ride.
  2. ^Thanks for the response. I knew had to be more than the PLC for testing not to continue. Regardless, I hope Gravity Group can get these trains running and everything works out well. I imagine if the trains can do what we all hope they will (run smooth and reduce wear and tear), they'll have a HUGE hit on their hands.
  3. ^Having been part of numerous test & adjust teams over the years, where I've seen program changes done live over wifi from the programmers laptop right on the load platform...I don't buy it. But I am also by no means an expert, so they could very be telling the truth in regards to that.
  4. Yesterday's Kings game reminded why I hate replay in all sports: needs to be all or nothing. If you are going to review every goal, unless the ref blows the play dead before the goal, you have to review everything. Not just certain circumstances.
  5. There's no cameras to look at @ SFMM. Nor do they really do anything except be a glorified ride operator. I wouldn't run my park that way, but it's not really a huge deal. Most of the SFMM panels don't even have panel views for the ride operators...you just see a fault light go on and wait for the mechanics..
  6. I'd rather they spend the money getting rid of Scream's afwul B&M rattle. Goliath and Colossus are also parking lot coasters, yet Scream get the brunt of the criticism...
  7. Looks amazing! I guess I will be back in credit card debt to fund a trip back to HKDL!
  8. Rode the backless version at IAAPA a few years ago and LOVED it. I thought it made the ride much more exciting to see everything around you.
  9. Once everything has been programmed, it's all plug and play.
  10. ^Wow. That article really makes me wonder who is behind the test run. Did they get approval for their own modifications? Or did S&S come in already as a way to settle this?
  11. I agree with Robb. An otherwise good report with some unique views is ruined with the captions about being on a lift hill.
  12. Even if no one knows who the Bradys are anymore, it will still make the local news outlets, which amounts to free advertising for the park.
  13. I imagine whomever bought the project out of bankruptcy is getting a sweet deal (S&S/Arrow has to be paying for the fixes??), so why not give it another shot?
  14. ^Which is why it is a perfect time to celebrate the anniversary. Easy PR stunt.
  15. ^^But most people will still use a restroom to pee or wash their hands in a typical theme park visit. Side note: I think it's awesome we're talking about pooping and peeing in the SFMM thread. It's very appropriate for the park!
  16. ^It's a portable ride designed to be built in a week or less when traveling, so I can't imagine it taking too long to go up.
  17. ^I was just going to say based on this TR, I am excited to ride the Polin slides at your park!
  18. So which is it? Are they totally disgusting or not that bad? We aren't talking about restaurant restrooms where cleanliness is of the utmost priority. If your bathroom experience is the most important thing about your trip to a theme park, avoid SFMM for sure. Of course you can always go down the highway to Universal Studios Hollywood where the restrooms are impeccable and you pay $70 for 1 coaster to ride. I'll pass on that one, however. Bathrooms are one of the few things it is safe to say that almost every guest will utilize, so upkeep (or lack thereof) of restrooms is a telling sign of just how much a park values their guests.
  19. Chris: Judging by the findings of the Thunder Mountain accident, I think it is was a safe assumption that something was wrong with the culture of DLR maintenance and operations if all of that could go wrong. The mechanic messed up, a manager signed off without doing the inspection, AND operations/maintenance allowed the train to continue cycling despite thinking something could be wrong. This one I honestly think was just an oversight that no one caught until something went wrong.
  20. Aren't they across the street from each other in Time Square as well?
  21. I think it is very fair to say a dirty/digusting bathroom is something that will leave a lasting impression.
  22. So who does everyone got this year?
