  1. I concur. It looked cool when Disney did an annual pass event for World of Color and gave out free ears, because EVERYONE had them. It has looked stupid since. I really hope this is all just a test of the communication system (I think they use RFID) to be used for something on a larger scale (like lighting up entire areas without having to do tons of wiring).
  2. I definitely think some significance is lost when a ride is relocated. For one thing, I doubt any relocated ride has been 100% original parts due to differences in codes/location/what is salvageable/etc. For another thing, part of what makes a ride historic is the "backstory" so to speak, which gets lost when the ride is relocated. Doesn't quite have as much punch to call a ride historic when it is brand new to the community it has been moved to.
  3. I just picture Kim Jong Un saying "Water Slide!" Like Napoleon in Bill and Teds.
  4. ^Labor laws mainly, since cruise ship workers aren't paid very well and have to work such long hours. NCL has Pride of America flagged in the U.S.
  5. Hollywood does not do anything like that.
  6. I wish I had an off season. That would mean I would get some sort of actual vacation...
  7. Of all the bad things SFMM does, it is nice that they give passholder ERT. Smart move on their part, since I am sure passholders make up a huge amount of their attendance.
  8. One more game to go for that prediction to become true!
  9. My thoughts exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  10. Helixes in general bother me---I'm not a huge G force person to begin with, but I hate that helixes really kill momentum on rides. I'd rather have more airtime/speed!
  11. If this actually does happen, leaving those rides that had been left to rot would actually be a pretty cool side attraction for visitors.
  12. Walking Dead was by far my favorite maze at HHN this year. I don't even watch Walking Dead, but the maze does a great job as a standalone zombie/prison maze even if you don't recognize the landmarks from the 3rd season.
  13. I loved Lotteworld when TPR visited---their Indiana Jones knock off ride was on-par with the actual ride. This area and that dark ride look to match that!
  14. ^I think you are correct. I was just wondering if this will be a portable base to not only save some money, but also to introduce the product as a competitor to Gerstlauer. If I remember right, the first motocoaster had a foundation too.
  15. During the week of NYE, expect to pay a premium where ever you do go! That being said, I would try to find a lounge. Two I can think of are Mix at the top of THEHotel and the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay.
  16. That's a great idea, but also would require a couple hundred million dollars. If that happens, it will most likely be a 5-10 year process.
  17. Still feels like summer during the day (80ish) and fall at night (well, at least by L.A. standards---50 degrees) in Los Angeles!
  18. Much like it seems every park in China must have a spinning coaster, I think it should be a rule that all parks should be required to build a Mega-Lite!
  19. I wonder if the ride will have footers, or a portable base?
  20. ^I disagree. People who have no interest in Haunt (families, school groups, corporate picnics, etc.) will all go Saturday to avoid conflicts with school/work. I'd still recommend Sunday and the extra 1 1/2 hour of operation to ensure he gets everything in.
  21. It is scheduled to open in December. However, with new rides, you can never be 100% sure. Just look at Undertow at SCBB...
  22. My takeaway from this trip report is that there is nothing at Disneyland that Adam does not love and take photos of!
  23. We do have a great Vegas thread to continue the buffet discussion at: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=53921
  24. ^Definitely. That's why I am OK with what KBF has become. They do what they can to preserve what is left. I'd rather have Silver Bullet and some of Ghost Town than have the park completely run down or closed because they can't stay competitive in the so cal market.
