  1. It's always been on my bucket list to see an implosion...can't miss this one!
  2. Got Vinny and Quagmire done today...still not close on Tom Tucker.
  3. ^I think it's an apples to oranges comparison. WDW certainly has more total visitors, but it also has more total attractions to spread those visitors around to. I still think they will have to do more than just allowing hotel visitors 60 days vs everyone else getting 30 by the time it comes to DLR to combat the AP crowd, but I 100% agree it will be a HUGE improvement over the current system.
  4. Not a ride...I'm most looking forward to Springfield coming to USH!
  5. I have no response except for....
  6. New Orleans can support something like Fun Spot for the locals...but definitely not major theme park.
  7. ^Speaking of the launch...roller coaster technology has improved so much since Superman first opened to the point where it's 100MPH launch doesn't even feel fast anymore.
  8. Perhaps somewhere along the lines they realized it was a dumb idea to not allow any photos and changed the policy since your media day visit?
  9. Ultimately whenever a coaster is stopped when it is not supposed to the average guest who isn't an enthusiast will automatically go into panic mode. Robb's point is just that as an enthusiast you would think that we should know better...but to each his or her own.
  10. ^Agreed. Between this and the Dumbo "queue," it's nice to see them trying new things. Wait times are always the #1 complaint of any theme park.
  11. The good news is that Comcast has shown is that they are certainly not afraid to spend money on the parks! I have a theory that Steve Burke is still bitter about how Disney ran DLP under his watch and is now having fun with the theme parks.
  12. I'm still working on Vinny and Tom Tucker in addition to all the Halloween stuff. So much to do!
  13. I agree. AP holders would take up all the reservations WAY in advance if they could. I suspect that when the system comes to DLR, it will be heavily favored to hotel guests and 1-day ticket holders. Which of course will lead to insane amounts of bitching from AP holders...
  14. I love that this park has grown so much since I last visited 10 years ago. This coaster looks 100000x better than the Pinfari inverted coaster that used to be there (that was surprisingly smooth, but nothing special).
  15. I have my Kayak alerts set to see if flight prices can drop low enough for me to do a quick day trip for HHN...Would be fun to do another "both HHN's in the same day" trip as I've done a few times already!
  16. I always feel bad for the poor mechanics who have to grab a winch, pull it out there, then come back to operate the crank to get the car back to the station. If it doesn't stop perfectly on the brakes at the bottom of the tower, that's the only way to get it back!
  17. That definitely makes me believe something bad happened.
  18. I didn't even realize there were other companies besides Golden Horse in China.
  19. The vortex tunnel was the ONLY good part.
  20. As long as they are strict on the return times, this is probably the wave of the future. Standby lines to fill in those who don't make it on time. Wait time is always the #1 dissatisfaction item, no matter how good a ride is.
  21. I would respectfully disagree about that. Toyz was 90% neon airbrush painted walls that barely popped with the glasses. I kind of laughed at that being "upgraded." House of a 1000 corpses was probably the best use of 3D in any haunt maze because of the technique they used (and continue to use, though Alice and Clowns didn't do as good of a job). I'd say it is more comparable with a KSF maze of 5-10 years ago. It's an upgrade for SFMM, but still nowhere near the level of immersion and detail of an HHN maze. Also, YOLOCoaster totally has airtime over the loop...that abruptly ends with the brake.
  22. The actual pinks in Hollywood is decent. The one at Knott's had a limited menu that wasn't too exciting. That venue will probably do good business based solely on its location.
  23. Stretch and stay hydrated.
  24. ^Speaking of Cars, it's absurd how selective Disney fans are with how/when characters can be mixed into a park. Carsland is a perfect example. It's pretty much the EXACT same thing as what is happening to Norway. Yet Carsland is the best thing ever. Despite the fact the only loose affiliation Radiator Springs has with California is the fact Route 66 ran through California.
