  1. They do, if they have a habit of starving themselves, which is very hard on the heart. That was my first thought, anyway.
  2. Sad and pathetic, that anyone would waste their time on something like that. Really, stop hating and get out and do something useful.
  3. He just sent out Christmas cards, this year, to some of my friends from a different board! They were a little weirded out.
  4. I'm ashamed that I fell 4 days behind! Coaster Expedition 12 is awesome! Order it today, if you haven't, already!
  5. I used to volunteer every Sunday in a cat shelter. I can win over any cat, using an oven mitt, long wooden spoon, and a can of Redi-Whip!
  6. Awwwwww! I love Angus snoozing under the tree. I want to snuggle him. The closest we have to a pet is when we host Christian's class hamster, Humphrey, for the weekend.
  7. Perhaps we should try a "part 2" of the experiment - have people from all over the world send postcards to Joel, and see how many make it there!
  8. Don't forget snakes, which occasionally find their way into the lazy rivers!
  9. ^I totally agree! This will have great appeal to Floridians (and other southerners,) who don't set foot in the water when the air temps are less than 90 degrees!
  10. Anyone come across great presents for TPR members? I found a present for Dave Thomas! It's actually a great deal, for $4! Shark Shower Curtain http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=18132&itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&keyword=18777&origref=http%3A//shopper.cnet.com/tech-deals/
  11. Thanks for posting about Kessler's book. I'm going to have to check that out. This has been a topic of interest for me for a long time. It's why I chose to study dietetics, and it's something I encounter every day at work as an RN. Like any addiction, it's a problem of instant gratification versus long-term gain. I have seen a patient come back from a cardiac cath for blocked arteries, and the first thing he ate was a bucket of Popeye's fried chicken. I regularly see uncontrolled diabetics, in the hospital for strokes or renal failure, gorging on chocolates that family members bring them. I've had COPD patients on oxygen trying to sneak a cigarette in the bathroom. Don't even get me started on the med seekers. For these people, I doubt that even dangling a huge chunk of money in front of them would conquer their addictions, since imminent death has no effect. I truly hope to see a cure for addiction in my lifetime. You want a solution to our massive healthcare problem - that would be it, because 90% of the people I see in the hospital are there because of smoking, alcohol, drugs, and poor diet.
  12. That would be my son's ultimate dream experience. He is an absolute Lego fanatic, and wants to be a master builder when he grows up. $30,000 is a bit out of my budget, though. We are taking him to Legoland CA next month. It's too bad we won't be experiencing the TPR treatment, but I think he'll be pretty thrilled, nonetheless!
  13. Awesome video! I've never had any interest in going to any of the horror events, but it was cool to get an inside view!
  14. From personal experience, I can say that a sudden change in temperature (say, 75 degrees one day, to 45 degrees the next morning,) can leave us scrambling to try to locate warm clothing for everyone, which could, in theory, cause us to be late. That usually happens to us every fall. Everyone is used to wearing shorts and t-shirts, and then suddenly we need jeans and sweatshirts. Not a big deal for the adults, but it's a hassle with the kids, because we have to figure out what fits them, after 7 or 8 months since they last wore warm clothes.
  15. Awww! Baby KT with her little ouchie nose still hurts me.
  16. I was surprised this wasn't my most active thread (it was Elissa's Thought of the Day.) I guess I need to post more!
  17. The Dollywood snow photos are very nice, but I must comment on the awesomely bad wig on Tom Cruise! That totally made my night!
  18. Love it!!!!!! I am absolutely loving these daily videos!
  19. If I baked, I would seriously weigh 300 pounds! I'm enjoying living vicariously, through your baking!
