BGE puts in a 20 million, 205 ft, floorless dive machine and all some of you people do is complain???!!!! Why would anyone in their right mind complain about this sort of thing? They do not have to put in a coaster AT ALL. Yet, when they do, pople whine because their ideas are better. I don't see anyone crying about the SLC clones, or the Impulse coaster. But, I guess it's pretty lame when a theme park does have a mildly original ride, that improves on one before it. What on earth was BGE thinking? Some of you people are way too picky. A coaster is a coaster. No one is complaining about all the kiddie rides being built around the world, so why complain about a large coaster? Honestly.... I can't wait to ride this, as I love the layout, and it is more possible for me to get on this than Sheikra. It will be a HUGE draw to the park, and something that will be an awesome addition. Besides, as Wes said, it has two yays!

Was it still taking them 4+ mins. to load each El Toro train?? They were so terrible with that when I was there. Sometimes it would take them almost 10 minutes, depending on how many people couldn't fit. It's too bad that such a great ride has such terrible operations... -
^You don't need it... I don't use it at all, and my lead-in's are decent enough...

^No, I t was, but it looked really ugly as green, and I'm very bad at names. Just wait till I release my woodie...

Most peope that will buy a PS3 already own a dvd player, so Blu Ray is a waste, and the whole thing is just too over the top... A console shouldn't need amazing graphics to have good games.... Wi fo mi

Wicked is my latest coaster, and I think that I did a pretty good job with it... It has great air in both the front and back, and a couple good laterals. (sorry it's so small...I'm working on getting it bigger) Wicked.zip Hooray!

MF is a little bit overrated (the big draw is the drop). But ugh, a larger version of Magnum...imagine the triangle hills... -

You killed me with the negative G's on the top hat. Other than that, this was a really fun ride! Keep up the good work, just watch the G's a little bit more. -
Apparently they were an assasination attempt.

I saw Little Miss Sunshine last night, and it was easily the best movie I've seen all summer! It was unbelievably hilarious! 10/10

Must See and Must Do @ Disneyland and DCA?
DATman replied to coastered's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Let's see: Buzz Lightyear is awesome. I always ride this one, as it really doesn't get old. It never has that long of a wait, either. In DCA, maximize both fastpass and single rider lines. The single rider lines are for Mulholland, Grizzly River Run (if you want to ride this, and don't want to fastpass, for sure use the SR line), and I belive Soarin is as well. CA screamin's line moves pretty fast, and ToT never has a long line. If you have time, see Aladdin, as it is a fun show, and you have to see the fireworks, as the really are the most amazing fireworks show I've seen. If you can, be as close to the castle as possible, as lots of the show is around there. -
EL TORO vs. THE VOYAGE
DATman replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I should hope it is smoother, as it is 5 years older than Nitro and 6 years older than SROS. El Toro didn't feel like a steel coaster to me at all. It still shook a bit (not as much as, say, SoB, but still enough). In fact, I expected it to feel a bit smoother than it was. Not by too much, but by a little. It didn't feel like a steel coaster to me, and, if we're using the Nitro comparison, I had ridden that only 2 hours before El Toro, both the third row from the back. -

EL TORO vs. THE VOYAGE
DATman replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The back on El Toro was amazing! I personally thought the first drop and hill to be better than the Rolling Thunder hill, and the turns had plenty of forces in the back (Rode it 3 days ago). Too bad it takes them 4-10 minutes to load a train (depending on how many people don't fit). Not to mention only two ops checking a train with a total of 18 rows and a bunch of people who can't understand the concept of a test seat. They really need someone at the front of the line asking people to try the seat out. It would cut the wait by so much. I can't compare the two, as I haven't been on Voyage, but I'm sure that it runs better. -
I loved the the thing on the website that has him call your friends. So funny.

Ok, so, last night, I got back from a trip to visit family, that involved stops at CP, SFDL, Seabreeze, and SFGAdv. Didn't take any pics, as 3 of 4 parks were in/out as fast as possible. CP- We went here on Wed, with one of my cousins, Kate. She plays hocky, but I doubt that really pertains to anything here. We got to the park 30 mins. before opening, and they had opened the gates to the peeps. We headed straight for Maxair, which was a good idea, as we waited about 10 mins for it, and the line trippled later in the day. I'll do reviews after the overview. We decided that before doing Dragster (which was down), we'd do everything else, as the lines would be shorter (hooray!).So, we went for MF, and rode near the back after about a 20-30 min. wait. Next up was the long walk over to Skyhawk. Skyhawk had a very short line, which was great (I think. Or, at least, it seemed great to me). Next up was Magnum XL-200. Anuzzer short line, which grew later in the day. Then, we got in the short (ish) line for TTD, which was down. About 5 mins into the line, it started up again, and kept going long enough so that we could ride. We then ate at Johnny Rockets, and enjoyed watching Mr. Tired dance to such classic songs as Respect and Celebration. We hit Blue Streak, which was cool. We then took a long wlak which ended with Mean Streak, and left the park after that, as my dad had to have dinner with some friend or other. Reviews: Maxair- It was a fun ride! The cycle was shorter than it should've been, but there was some floater air on it, and some good sideways/upside-down views of the park. 7/10 MF- It's a great ride, as there's nothing like the first drop, and there was some good floater air on most of the other hills. 8/10 Skyhawk- My first Screamin Swing. It was a really fun ride. Not thrilling, just fun. It got you up high enough to be scary, andlooking at the ground was pretty neat. The cycle was too short though. If there had been 2 more full swings, it would've been perfect. 7/10 Magnum XL-200 (or, as I like to call it, Revenge of the Triangular Hills)- The ops told us that it was a number 3 ride... They lied to us big time. It was fun, but thos last "hills" were a pain and did absolutely nothing but make you wonder "who the hell designed this thing?" Oh, it was Arrow. 5.5/10 TTD- We waited for the back, and it was a lot of fun, other than I forgot to check out the view that flashes by in 3 seconds. It really pulled us over the op, which was great! But it is still too short to really do anything. 7/10 Blue Streak- A great out-and-back woodie. Lots of fun, and a few good air hills. It was a little short, though. 7/10 Mean Streak- Ow. 5/10 SFDL- We hit this one on the way to Rochester, and I'm really glad we did. We have passes to SFMM, so it was free (a reason I love SF). We started with Superman in the front, for about a 20 min. wait. We then hit Boomerang and Viper. After that was Mind Eraser, and then Superman one more time. It was a quick visit, as we were there for the credits (we already had Predator, and it was down for the season). Anyway, that was literally all we did there. Superman (Ride of Whatever Material It Is Made Out Of)- I love this ride. I had so much fun in both the front and back of this thing. The first drop over the pondish/lake thingie was great, and the last three hills were amazing. The helixes were ok, but hey, as the first Intamin Hyper, it is insane. I can't wait to ride Xped. Geforce, Golitath, and Good Superman! 9/10 Boomerang- This one was pretty smooth. Not too much jerking, and with a one-train wait for the front, not bad at all. 7/10 Viper- It was an okay ride. The first drop surprised me, but the rest of it was meh. Oh, and why does everyone scream when you go in the tunnel. I don't get it. It was just a turn that didn't doo much, and yet, there was more screaming in there than the drop... 7/10 Mind Eraser- Now, I've heard some bad things about SLCs, but this one wasn't that bad...It has an okay layout, and it Intamin would've designed it, it would've owned, but it wasn't too painful. 6/10 Seabreeze- I love this park! It has such wonderful atmosphere, and it's so tiny and fun! We came at night, as it was cheaper, so that added to the coolness. Now, I used to live in Rochester, so when I was little, I came here. It brought back a couple great memories for me. We started off with Jack Rabbit, which was great. We then headed over to Whirl Wind, which was my first spinning coaster. We hit bobsleds after that, and then the Yo-Yo and Screamin Eagle. We hit Whirl Wind andJack Rabbit again and then left. It was a great day, and I am so glad we stopped here. Jack Rabbit- For the 2nd oldest woodie in America, it's a great ride! It doesn't have much air, but it was still a blast to go on. It still uses the hand-brake in the station, which is cool, and it only has 1 train. 7.5/10 Whirl Wind- This was so much fun! We got some decent spinning in, and I thought it was a blast. I can't imagine how insane Spinball Whizzer and Tarantula must be if this one was awesome! 8/10 Bobsleds- What w wacky ride. It is very fun, and it had a couple decent hills. I loved the bit before the lift. It was a little short, though. 7/10 Yo-Yo - This was a decent flat, it was longer, so it was fun, but it didn't do much at all...6/10 Screamin Eagle- This is one of those Inverters with no floors. It also seated 3 across, which made no sense to me. It was fun, but it wasn't nearly as thrilling as I had hoped. Still it's a good ride in that park. 6.5/10 SFGAdv- This was a really quick stop. We basically came for 2 rides: Nitro and El Toro. We skipped KK as we've been on TTD, and we haven't been on the other two we wanted to go on. we waited about 1.5 hours for Nitro, and 2.5 for El Toro. Then we left. I don't know why people like this park so much, as the operations weren't very good, and every line was way too long. I still like SFMM more. Nitro- This was a really fun ride. I was mad that the Flash Pass commandeered (or however you spell it) the back two rows. There was some decent air, but it would've been more fun without the trims. Apollo's was better. 7/10 El Toro- What a great ride with such crappy operations. They took between four and five minutes to load each train. It was ridiculous. Sometimes it took ten minutes. They refused to let people on until the previous riders had exited the station completely, and a lot of people that should've used the test seat didn't. They need to have one op at the start of the line asking people to try out the seat, as it would drastically cut down on the wait. The ride itself was just amazing though. It really blew me away, and it blasted to the top of my wooden coaster list. After this, I really want to ride Balder and Colosus (spelling??). 9/10 All in all, it was a good trip. So, um yeah. That's about it. If you actualy read this, then you are officially cool in my book.

^^The brakes are on the bottom curve of the drop. They're that line that runs down the middle. My guess would be magnets, but I can be wrong... -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
DATman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ok, so after going to Cedar Point, and looking at the construction site (from Mean Streak, to see the whole thing), there is a lot of room, but I reallly don't think there is enough room for a launch and a lift. I predict a better version of Rita, or still maybe an Aqua Trax, which would make sense after getting rid of their Log flume (which is missed if you want to get wet, but not soaked). -
It takes the ops on El Toro 4 minutes to load 1 freaking train. Honestly. I could've waited about 1 to 1 1/2 hours for it, but it took 2 1/2. Seriously. All the people who didn't bother to use the damn test seat weren't helping things either. It took the ops 10 minutes a few times. Pathetic.
