  1. I just got back from a vacation which included stops at CP, SFDL, Seabreeze (childhood park), and SFGAdv.
  2. Does anyone else think that the weird piece of track (^^^) will be upside-down? There looked like one spot where it might be able to go, but am I just crazy?
  3. ^Did he play young Simba? That kid went to my school...
  4. ^So what is the International Date Line for? There are only so many time zones, then you jump back to where you started...
  5. Let's just go with kiddie coaster then, as anyone's guess is as good as another's. Saying that they won't build a smaller Intamin Hyper is like saying it was crazy to build MF, when they already had Magnum. It really could be anything as of now.
  6. Well, I'll be out at the Point on either Wed. or Thurs, to finally see what's up. I'm guessing that the wingspan of wingwalkers is about 15 feet or so (less than X), so we can judge the distance for supports from that. Right now, I'm leaning more towards an Exped. type of coaster, as CP knows how outrageously popular it is, and how amazing it is. They'll probably shorten the drop a bit, but my guess is that it will somewhat resemble a more twisted version of the Intamin Hyper.
  7. USH doesn't have the resources to match what UO's capable of. The tram tour is about the only advantage... but didn't someone die the last time they used that at HHN? Ok sorry I'm not trying to be mean but HHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH Have you ever been to USH? They make movies there! I am a New York Film Academy student and we are constantly on the back lot filming. They have this huge wardrobe wearhouse with just about every single costume and prop ever used in every movie (including horror movies). There are like a million sound stages and they are enormous, so they will probably be used for one or two mazes. We also have the largest escalator in the USA, I dunno they could do something with that but its pretty awesome. C'mon man we make movies here, and we dont have the resources? Your USF was modeled after ours... OMG!!!11 DEY M@KE M0V!ES DERE?!?!?!? DAT' SO K00L!!!1111 ROFLZLOLZ!!!111 Do you actually think it matters how many random props or costumes USH has lying around? Or that they're going to instantly make USH some kind of Halloween utopia? If the rumored number of house(s) I've heard for USH turns out to be true, you're in for a rude awakening. I'm gonna take a wild guess that USH doesn't have "like a million" soundstages, and that 99.9% of them can't actually be used for HHN anyway, being a busy movie studio and all. But then again, what do I know? Oh, I almost forgot to ask. What's USH's normal parade route look like? And where is it's lagoon(s) located, in case they want to utilize it (them) for a special show? Where do they usually set their fireworks off from, for said show? Oh... you mean USF wasn't modeled after USH at all? Imagine that. But hey, at least you've got that nifty... uhhm... escalator. So whats the "Rumored" number of houses supposed to be, and sources? There is no competition against USH.. the only thing USF has going for it is its better mummy ride and IOA. Other than that the studio tour pretty much beats anything you can throw at it. The average ride length of any ride in USF is about 4 minutes.. The studio tour is 25 minutes long!!! If they can somehow haunt the studio tour thats about three or four haunted houses fit into one package right there. They also have 3 sound stages where they do a variety of shows which can be shut down and used for HHN. One show actually describes how they make horror films so its easy to do. Have you ever been to USH? have you seen it? I've been to USF and one thing is very apparent FLAT!!!! it's built in a big circle, you better have a lagoon there because there is nothing else to look at. No terrain and no variety.. The thing that makes USH so unique is its location.. its built on two sides of a hill. That means all the back lot locations cannot be seen from each other.. And yea we make movies here DUH! all the props are basically on the lot which makes it easier for Universal to make-up the actors and make huge houses. The reason USF is repeating haunted houses is because its too expensive to continually make new sets for them. Besides the studio tour, what does USH have going for it?? 5 rides. 5. 1 is outdated (BTTF), 1 isn't nearly as good as they advertise(RotM), 2 are more shows than anything (Shrek/T3D), and 1 is quality (JP). What else is there? A couple shows (the better version of one in Florida), a foam ball pit, and a soak zone. USF is a PARK. USH is a MOVIE STUDIO. End of story. They are different in their own respects. USF has better rides. USH has okay rides, but a great tram tour. You exaggerated the studio a bit, too. A million soundstages?? 50 max. 1/3 of the stuff on location does not belong to US, but to outside companies filming there. HHN acess to the backlot: limited (if at all besides the tram). Most soundstages are in use, and US cannot take the risk of letting a bunch of teens on the lot, where they can (can, not will) get away somehow, wander on to a closed set (or street), and seriously mess things up. I doubt that would be good for US's great rep in the business, so they won't be taking that chance. If they do, expect limited acess. That would make security in USF easier for the fact that they have no backlot to protect. They also have more space, and not a really annoying lower and upper level thing. I like the flatness. It's a lot easier to navigate. Now, there is a soundstage on the lower level of the park that has the potential to be used (Special FX show building). But other than that (and a limited use of the backlot), where is the space for such an all-out event that Florida's has. Expect Haunt to be better than HHN this year for the sole reason that they are not testing the waters. They know what they can and can't do, as they do it every year. USH, on the other hand, hasn't been used for an event like this in years, and as such will be good, but expect the 2007's to be better, as they will have had a trial/error run. In short, there is really no way to compare USH and USF, as they offer completely different experiences. Oh, and I hope USF makes fun of Hilary Duff at this sweet 16 party. That would make me very happy.
  8. How does that look like RB????? Sorry, just a little confused. The MCBR is in a completely different spot, the supports are red, there isn't a helix like that, and the trains are not 2 seater trains...
  9. ^^I actually have no idea where it came from.... I guess I'm as crazy as the doctors tell me.
  10. ^It may be tall, but from what I've heard, that's about all it has going for it... Still, it's good to see that it is in fact opening, as it is always sad to see a SBNO coaster.

  12. ^ just click the little arrow to see your name...
  13. Please don't post a topic in all caps, as it can be bothersome to others. As for the swing, I have no idea. I don't even think there is one...
  14. Well, one of my friends was deathly afraid of coasters. I think her biggest was BTM at DL. I took her to SFMM, and by not letting her think about what she was getting herself into, I got her on Tatsu first, and she loved it, I got her on Deja Vu without her even getting scared, as well as Viper and Scream. The key was not actually letting her think about what she was doing and also not letting her see all of the layout by hurrying into the line. And if you personally are afraid of hights, I offer this advice, as I am too: Don't think, just do. When you think about something, it immediately becomes 10x as bad as it is. Don't think about what you are doing until you are in the process of doin it. Like on TTD, don't think about the tophat until you are on the launch section. Then it's too late, and you have to endure it, and will most likely enjoy it. I did a 25 foot rope swing when I was in Hawaii. It drops you into this big pond by some waterfall, and there was no way in hell I was going to do it. But there is this ladder on the side of a cliff to get to the swing, and if you climb up, you can't climb down. So I basically climbed up without thinking about the 25 foot freefall, and once I was at the top I let myself dread it, knowing I had no choice anyway. After doing it once, I did it about 10 more times...
  15. I saw RENT last night at the Pantages, and it was AMAZING!!
  16. Rigt now it's a 50-50 whether I can go or not. If I can, my dad and maybe my brother will come with me, but only to the parks bit, as it's one of the few weeks my mom is home (she spends 2 weeks up in NY, and 1 here for work)

  18. It was a good first ride! Pros: Very like that type of ride! Good job with that. Cons: Try to lessen the banking. 90 degrees is more trivial than cool, and if you lessen the banking, the ride will greatly improve. A few hills needed more curvature than you gave them. Less supports! You'll get better soon, so keep it up!
  19. well, original layouts mean more money that is spent on a ride. For a park that is just starting, money is a big issue. Besides. it looks way better than any of the supermans, so don't complain.
  20. ^Been there, done everything in the park except Maxair/swing. So there.
  21. Well, I like vertical construction... Anyway, I'll be at teh Point in early/mid august! I can't wait, as I really want to ride the screamin swing. Maxair should be fun too...
  22. Weetopia Entry #1 Luxo Entry #2 ColinCoon Entry #2 There were some other good ones out there! I can't wait to see the next one
