SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread

Six Flags doesn't have the money for demolition. NOLA probably wants them to take out what rides they can, demo and scrap the rest. NOLA needs to contact the former Six Flags CEO for that job anyway. The council members I saw on video seem to want to redevelop the property. -

I'm sorry if I'm dissing charity but I think it's as dumb as Six Flags' planned camp out for SFGADV's Dark Knight Media Day. -
Tsunami was awesome. I could imagine it's a bit different now as Hellcat with some brakes added. I would get it. I went when the new ownership took over. They didn't have Hellcat ready before Memorial Day it seemed. Now that it's year two it'll probably be up. I would call ahead. The season pass deal is still up on the website. It looks enticing. I'm due to make a return.

"Life is a Highway" is a flat-track ride that puts guests in the cab of an 18 wheeler. Each cab has two children seats and two adult seats, allowing families to ride together around the track. "Wheels In The Sky" allows guests to enjoy peddling through the clouds in colorful hang glider carts. Once the ride begins, riders can enjoy the rush as they swoop and fly through the sky. "Fly Like An Eagle" is a traditional kite flyer ride that combines the sensation of free flight with the feeling of ocean waves. It allows parent and child to enjoy flying through the clouds together over "Kids in America." "Get Off Of My Cloud" offers guests a spectacular view of Freestyle Music Park. Consisting of eight festive and colorful balloon baskets for riders, which can each accommodate up to four children and adults.

Hardrockparkblog.com said the news conference would have been 3:30 today. The land is called Kids in America. There looks like there will be NEW rides not carnie rides. One ride is called "Life is a Highway." It also sounds like they will have that pedaling flat that debuted at Morey's Pier last year. The park debuted a new updated logo with a guitar pick now. discovermyrtlebeachforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2147&pid=7804&start=0entry7804

Is all that blacktop where El Dorado is large enough to fit a hyper lift hill diagonally from the Shockwave area if you take that out? Americana is not huge compared to the wheel that is Big Wheel @ SFGADV which is almost finished its refurbishment with LEDs. -

I went 4/8 to SFA and the cheese was yummy. Everything was open as Mark Shapiro said in that interview there. -

At 1pm on a fan site of the park I thanked someone for the update the park was closing. I agreed as I am on the one border of Jersey and saw the bad weather system was here as well. I understood with the rain. This story is old about someone driving 3 hours and seeing the rain. In the summer of 2007 someone came from the south 3 hours and had the same thing happen to him. I told him he should have taken the weather into better account and I began reading the terms of the Season Pass. He lost his parking money too. I didn't have much sympathy. Our wills to plan and execute our trips seem much bigger than the good old Mother Nature. The park probably took into account: weather and people already there, numbers from parking. Basically I agree with Robb who more eloquently got the point across. At 2-3 I had to quickly brush something up on the front sidewalk through rain since I'm preparing for Easter tomorrow. -

It just about looked like a good decision with all the bad weather we had here and NITRO valleying last week.
