  1. The park still has the Elvis stained glass window that I believe I saw at the now closed Hard Rock Cafe Dallas. Edit: Google imaging it: The Dallas one had Elvis sitting on a throne. Unless it's another window from that restaurant that's not it. I saw an Elvis stained glass window from a Nagoya, Japan location that looks more similar to the FMP one.
  2. Six Flags Great Adventure Six Flags America My Southern Rock Tour: Baja Amusements- OCMD Trimpers Jolly Roger at the Pier Jolly Roger Amusement Park-OCMD Freestyle Music Park Family Kingdom Pavilion Nostalgia Park Pedroland Carowinds Six Flags over Georgia Alabama Adventure US Space and Rocket Center Huntsville Lake Winnie Beech Bend Holiday World Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Kings Island Lakemont Park Delgrossos Park I regret I had to miss Coney Island Ohio I will probably get Quassy throughout the rest of the summer and revisit SFGADV.
  3. I'm glad you picked out these improvements because as a first time visitor I saw all these bold objects and got a great first impression of this park.
  4. There's nothing after the MCBR. They couldn't wait those extra few feet?
  5. I was seriously lost walking up to the loading station of Monstars of Rock. There is an excavator digging in Kids in America. Another friend of mine has gone there this weekend. Last weekend, going to FMP was the springboard for my trip through the South, getting FK, Carowinds, SFOG, AA, Lake Winnie up to Holiday World, SFKK, and KI to close the week. I got pics of Hard Rock Parkway and a FMP park shirt to mark my milestone of reaching this rock park. I'm not sure when the SC schools were out but the next day when my friend and I went to Carowinds he explained that the NC schools were not out yet. There were not many people at Carowinds on an early June Tuesday.
  6. When I got there I was lucky to see about 15 cars at opening at 11. Once in the park when I was in Across the Pond I finally saw some families arrive to ride the Cabs. When we went to the Adrenaline show at 1 I could see from both pathways through Myrtle's Beach and the Across the Pond bridge people converging on the show. There were people in the park, not jam packed, but I liked seeing the family demographic represented. All the coasters were walk ons. In the evening is when I saw full trains on The Time Machine. My friend and I went to the Cool Country ice show at 3 and then left to go to Family Kingdom/Boardwalk at the Beach before we returned for evening Time Machine runs and the Fireworks. Great fireworks show. I'm glad to see the guitar all lit up. I just wish it was the Hard Rock logo. At closing there was at least 30 cars.
  7. The Vekoma Grover's Vapor Trail family coaster is an awesome one at Sesame Place. I would hope they get that version than the one they have at BGW.
  8. Mission Success: I made it to Freestyle Music Park 6/8. The park made for me: the Hard Rock Cafe pin collecting fan and rollercoaster enthusiast I am, I finally got to visit. : ) I rode The Time Machine 7 times and got every decade but the 80's. That B&M whips through the course though it has B&M Hyper valley shakes. I think it's the closest B&M to an outside of Orlando Incredible Hulk, especially with the super cobra roll, two loops, and a helix over the final brake run. The last corkscrew still is a strong one. After about 3pm watching the Ice Show my friend and I went to Family Kingdom, Pavilion Nostalgia, and came back for the fireworks. They're nice. I really wanted to see the giant guitar light up. I just wish it was still Hard Rock. They really need a huge billboard on 501 with an arrow pointing to the park. At least Medieval Times is still there proving it can stand the test of time in that complex. That's encouraging though it's in a whole different industry.
  9. I'm glad they beat Cedar Fair to the chase. I was waiting for the US Auto companies to start off the bankruptcy announcements and then down the line we went.
  10. If you're a newbie to Cedar Point, as a coaster enthusiast milestone, you have to visit it. To me now though I can avoid it. Kings Island is my darling outside of our local SFGADV at this time. It's a good choice of a duo. Maybe if you can get two visits to Dorney in the Cedar Fair Platinum pass might be worth it. CP and KI are Cedar Fair properties, as well as Dorney, Kings Island.
  11. I would prefer Bizarro get the nod. I'm glad Robin spoke out though.
  12. This is the time of year for school trips; school is still in session. I know FMP just opened and is on those partial days not hosting those kind of things yet. At SFGADV when the parks were hosting class trips this time of the year I used to get marathons on B:TR and Medusa because hardly anyone was in the park after 5. They finally got smart in recent years and closed at 6 instead of 7. This is that kind of lull for FMP and the weather was bad that day. Things should be picking up with school out soon.
  13. I intend to be at the park Monday. I'm crossing my fingers for starting off my trip right.
  14. They basically used the spot of the old rapids reservoir to build this new wave pool. It was quite different than the Great Adventure model being an Intamin rapids right? It weaved back and forth on its course as it lost elevation. I had fun on it and truly got soaked. I'm bummed that we lost more amusement park stuff for waterpark attractions. Is Hershey being blemished. Will I put it in the same pot as California Great America soon?
  15. I heard the Spice Girls on a partion of the 90's track watching the Time Machine on the park's Youtube page. Their portion comes on right during the MCBR into the corkscrew. I had other meanings for "zigga zig ahhh" before.
  16. You mean they don't have a Big Mr. Six on payroll?
  17. Someone on the blog said Roundabout was open. That's great news.
  18. The park site says: Now OPEN!!!! The fsmpblog said the Judge sided with FMP to open on time. Thank God.
  19. With that kind of vibe I'm still planning my get in and get out move. Robb I was able to look back on your PTR. Was the Ice House an original part of the old outlet mall/entertainment center that converted into the park's new use for the Country Ice Show?
  20. HRP Creative Services filed suit against FMP saying they didn't do enough to distinguish themselves. What Bull once again. They want to threaten the park's opening. Bull.
  21. Eat outside of the park. Don't get a headache during the day. I also suggest Cedar Point on the way back home. You'll probably be passing it.
  22. The park logo minus the three loops has made it's way to the giant guitar finally.
