  1. I went yesterday for a couple of rides in the front of the Rebel Yell. The previously backward side is still undergoing a bunch of track work. The first drop looked to be all new wood and didn't have any steel on it yet. The red train was sitting in the station, partially dismantled (getting the new seatbelts, I presume). The blue train is completely missing. I mean, I'm sure someone knows where it is. PTC, maybe for major rehab? The always-has-been-forward side was running the blue train while the red train was in the usual parking spot. I didn't take note of whether it was being worked on or not. They've removed the big overhead sign from the top of the lift that tells you to remain seated. They've also removed the one from the Hurler. I wonder what's up with that?
  2. I would have been happy to just go around once, but no. I got 5 full circuits. I was the only person in the rides area that day besides a family of four. It was awesome because if you wanted to ride something you had to kind of go get somebody to run it for you. Also, Speedway Draft touched me inappropriately.
  3. I went on Easter for a quickie and will now share all my random thoughts: 1. I really like Dominator's new colors but I understand they're leaving the vertical loop yellow. Dumb. 2. Lots of new wood on Rebel Yell. The front seat was dreamy-smooth. However, the back seat managed to actually jackhammer worse than last year. I seriously thought I might need to call 911 from the turnaround. 3. Easter Sunday, March 23. That's the last time I rode the Grizzly in 2008. The only time I've ever been more miserable on a woodie was on The Villain in pouring rain. 4. The area where Hypersuck used to be looks empty, but better. I think a giant frisbee is in order. 5. Overall, I have to say I'm really surprised at how much the removal of paramount theming, goofy new ride names and bobo logos have brought the overall park feel down. I hate being so critical, but with the exception of getting one sweet new ride right at the front gate, KD seems to have gone from mediocre to mediocrer. I hope they have some plans.
  4. I think drinks should be included in the price of admission at all parks.
  5. Traveling fair rides don't count at all. Robbie has spoken.
  6. I was there Sunday the 17th, too. We waited about 45 minutes for Jaguar aka Line: The Ride featuring a weird boring tram at the end to take you to the exit ramp. None of us had been there before so we had no way of knowing. We actually had more fun waiting in line for it than we had on it. Everything else about the park was pretty amazing, though. Sierra Sidewinder was a huge surprise. I thought Silver Bullet was near perfect. I asked Ghostrider to marry me.
  7. They're such overachievers.
  8. I was there Sunday, too, for the first time. I didn't have very high expectations for GhostRider, based on stuff I'd heard. It was awesome in both front and back.
  9. I think Rumblefest would be more fun, personally. Kentucky Rumbler is more fun than any of the coasters at KI, IMHO. I mean, I know that seems somehow wrong, but I'm trying to think if there's a ride at KI that I prefer and I can't think of one. Maybe The Beast, but it makes me mad more than it makes me have fun, because of how fun it could be but isn't. Plus with Rumblefest, you'll get some ERT and a gravy buffet and maybe a door prize. They gave out about a billion door prizes a couple of years ago.
  10. I'll third it. I wish I'd had more time to go to a couple of places in Jasper. But I've also stayed at Santa's before, and while I don't recommend the restaurant downstairs, the room was quite comfey.
  11. BGA (went in January) SeaWorld Orlando (went in January) Knott's Berry Farm SFMM Canada's Wonderland Seabreeze Darien Lake Martin's Fantasy Island Marineland Idlewild DelGrosso's Lakemont SFGAdv Maybe a couple more away from home--not sure yet. And of course a few trips to King's Dominion and as many as I can get to Busch Gardens Europe. I think Virginia needs a small family-owned park.
  12. Just looking at that picture caused involuntary clenching.
  13. Same thing here. I got a much more quality experience than what I was expecting at both BGA and SeaWorld.
  14. I totally saw you guys while I sadly and pathetically waited out the umbrella hunt at the Shamu coaster. Great pictures, especially of Kraken, aka My Favorite Coaster in Florida so far.
  15. "Just looking at Frank makes me feel sick!"
  16. I almost went there the other day (1/26), but I couldn't find the place. I guess I had bad directions. I would've done Universal, but I only had a couple of hours to kill before my flight back home, so I popped in to SeaWorld again for a little lunch and Shamu. (I have a BGE platinum pass.) I guess I'll get down to the Holy Land next time, after the revamp.
  17. That is a killer shot of Tennessee Tornado.
  18. Depends on which way the entrance is facing, really. If the corkscrews are heading out toward Scooby Doo, the Entrance will be facing the Beserker, not Kidzville. And I'm not saying anything about being right or being wrong. I'm just speculating like everyone else. I didn't mean anything by saying you didn't sound like you knew what you were talking about. I was just winding you up a little.
  19. After reading the other posts about CF's non-parking-lot history and reflecting on the grading markers I saw the other day that were inside the fence, I feel more confident that they'll raze the toonpike and knock down some trees. Getting rid of kid stuff and obliterating nature seems more CF's style. Now if it was Six Flags Over Doswell, I put my money on "Dominator--the asphalt coaster." Plus you just don't sound like you really know what you're talking about.
  20. Please tell me they're not just going to plop it onto the bus parking lot like that. I somehow thought it was going go over the Rugrats Toonpike area with the corkscrews over by Scooby Doo.
  21. Wasn't Phoenix relocated? *ducks*
  22. Tennessee Tornado, definitely.
  23. Names I've used in RCT2: Agony Imminent Disaster Probable Pain The Headache Unsafe Stephanie They should all be solid white with Abstract theming and Kraftwerk playing in the station.
