  1. Spoken just like a man who was sitting in the front! The front was like a baby carriage. The back was like a demonic footsie-wootsie. That ride was traumatic in so many ways...How did I end up sitting on your finger? Why am I so uncomfortable discussing it?
  2. Peanut Butter Milkshakes FTW! And no, the Toboggan was not so bad with two people. It's shocking how much can fit into one of those little cars. LTD was horrifying in the back seat. The first time I rode it a couple of years ago, I was in the front and I found it to be pretty mild. Seeing pictures of it now makes my spine ache.
  3. OK, so at Marine Land, I had to miss the Topple Tower, the Bears and Friendship Cove. Why? Because I had to pee. I asked the guy outside of Dragon Mountain where the closest restroom was and he started off, "Well, it's not close..." The jaunt to and fro took up a large percentage of my time at the park. At least I got over my drop tower issues, and I owe that all to you, Ben. Srsly. I wish I'd gotten a picture of the Beluga Whale Squishy Glitter Globe I bought before I gave it to the friend I bought it for..."In order to make your glitter globe last a long time, use a slow, gentle pressure." Didn't someone else buy one? Luke? PHOTOS.
  4. Oh, I think she meant for everyone to see it. I bet she's already scrawled "natabama" in bubble letters all over her math notebook. I don't remember either, but it was probably offensive or xenophobic and only seemed funny because we were all so sleep deprived. Wasn't everything kind of funny at that point? I'm not exaggerating when I say I think that was the most fun week of my entire life to date.
  5. It was agony. Certain rides always make me laugh like that. Scramblers, Music Expresses, Spinning coasters (that spin) all produce that horrifying cackle. It can be embarrassing. But that caterpillar was fun. I thought I was going to keep it somewhat together until we passed the fan the first time. Then it was all over.
  6. I'm with DCody, in fact I think she was sitting there when I said that the first time I rode Dragon Mountain I thought it was awesome. The second time, meh. The third time I took a nap.
  7. Wow. Seeing pictures of Darien Lake reminds me of how sane and sober I felt at that point in the trip. I was struggling to keep it together at Canada's Wonderland...I think it was Marine Land where I finally lost my mind. A certain squishy sno-globe with a beluga whale in it comes to mind... I can't wait to see more! It seems like so long ago... I must focus on Scandinavia.
  8. It was horrifying. I've never been so panicked in my life as when Roxanne said, "I just called Robb and he hung up on me." It was like Darien Lake was about to sink into an abyss and I had to get out of there or be sentenced to eternity on the Mind Eraser.
  9. I can ditto that (I was on the same trip, durrrrr), with the exception of Skyflyer, because I did not want to poop my pants.
  10. I wasn't playing! I was making an adjustment and that's serious business. And my sunglasses are awesome in a borgy kind of way. Anyway they were a gift. From your mom.
  11. Yeah, I was hearing all day today about how amazing Boulder Dash was...and how it won't be so amazing next year.
  12. Man, photographers like you are why people like me don't bother bringing cameras to the park anymore. Those are fantastic!
  13. I think one of the more legendary moments of the trip was you bringing the house down with "I'm only happy when it rains" during thunderstorm ERT at Waldameer. It was sublime.
  14. I think they were Muslim. But the funny thing is you could see their ankles and I thought that was supposed to be a big modesty issue. I'm probably wrongly informed, being from the New River Valley and all--but it did elicit cries of, "Dirty ninja whores!" Under our breath, of course.
  15. I've felt like something has been missing from my life ever since I didn't buy a jar of DelGrosso's sauce. I love reading these updates. It's a little like reliving the whole thing.
  16. No, it wasn't you guys. We only met briefly, but I could tell that you weren't the gravy-stain-on-your-raging wolf bobs-shirt types at all.
  17. I thought it was crazy smooth, but I heard from a couple of people that it was smoother on opening day. I'm pretty sure that's ACEr code for "I was there on opening day and you weren't."
  18. It was all a misunderstanding. I think the security guy got it after we had explained. I saw that look in his eye. He, too, was dying inside to ride Bear Trax. It was worth it.
  19. I just got back from my first trip to Great Adventure. El Toro and Nitro were reason enough to go, but we almost didn't get Nitro in because it was broken most of the day. All of the rides kept breaking and then coming back up. This was hugely annoying in such a sprawling park layout, and it also reduced the effectiveness of having a gold flashpass. Granted, some of our dismay may be explained by the fact that the four of us (Natatomic, eBen, televisedconfession) had been going TPR style for the 5 days prior and now we were subjected to a regular ol' day at a park. Natatomic will be posting an amazing trip report soon and will probably give more details as to why I hate Six Flags more than ever.
  20. I think the longer trains look hot. I also think the outer-edge seats were amazing, giving even more of a "flying chair" feeling. I think this is why Behemoth scared the crap out of me for the first several rides.
  21. I'm gutted that I only did the add-on and was unable to continue on to the main trip. I have no words to describe the experience. Mainly because I seem to have forgotten most of the words I ever knew, probably as a result of riding Time Warp. The bottom line is, if you're not going TPR style, you're not totally going. I met some fantastic people and rode some amazing coasters. I also rode some dreadful coasters, but the people even made those fun. Highlights include, but are not limited to: 1. Random power outage 2. Ravine Flyer II in a thunderstorm at night on fire* 3. The 'Tainted Love' Caterpillar ride 4. SAUCE 5. The Puppet Show Now to start plotting to finance my next TPR trip... *Ok, it wasn't on fire.
