  1. Once again, Wes proves why he's the reason to have acess to the internet... dt
  2. ^Those Quiznos commercials with the critters were a billion times better than the talking baby ones they have now. dt
  3. GASM at SFGAdv. What a giant assed pile of crap. The Corkscrew at MI at least has the unique feature of having the track run through some guy's garage... dt
  4. Words of wisdom, indeed. This is why I stopped visiting certain parks... dt
  5. Robb sent me a link to his pictures many, many years ago. Not many people understand my ultra-bizarre sense of humor, but Robb and Elissa are among the few... dt
  6. This is an awesome topic. My picks: 1 - Check out dinosaurs 2 - Visit Roswell, NM, on that fateful day... 3 - Go into the future until I see flying cars 4 - Go see some bands I missed (Original Genesis lineup, Queen) 5 - Go back to June 2001 and get video footage of Robb and Walt crashing tubs on the flyers at Knoebel's! Trust me, this is something that should have been captured on video (runner up here would be getting Joey's near death experience at Toverland on tape!) dt
  7. No matter how exhausting or annoying this trip was, you got to see FLESH EATING PLANTS!!! That is worth any sort of difficult journey... dt
  8. ^Yeah, that looks like something from The Pleasure Chest... dt
  9. Excellent job. Parc Asterix rules! dt
  10. I used to work in TV, so I've met tons. Milli Vanilli, Cheech Marin, Tim Conway, Chuck Norris and tons of soap opera actors (i swear they get all these people from some factory, as they all look alike!) among many, many others. I've met tons of musicians at various music festivals over the years. And a lot of authors at various events (Stephen King, Peter Straub, Clive Barker, David Morell, Brian Keene and many others). Like Robb and others NDAs and common sense keep me from telling stories, but I have to say most people are cool. The ones that are usually a pain in the ass are ones that think they're more famous and/or powerful than they really are (and none are named above, so don't get any ideas). dt
  11. Cool TRs. I was not much of a fan of Italy (mostly due to the horrible customer service at Garadaland), but that Movie Park was way cool. There used to be an alpine slide in PA that I rode over 20 years ago. That's the only one I've ever been on. That single rail one looked insane... dt
  12. Wow, I went to NJ for a few days, and this thread grew by about ten pages! Hong Kong looks interesting. I loved that shopping area, I'm sure there were all sorts of random and bizarre things for sale there. And is there a corner of the world not infected by McDonalds?!? dt
  13. Yeah, the water thing is also VERY important. And it should be water, not soda, as it hydrates you better. As far as socks go, I highly recommend ones from this company: http://www.thorlo.com/corporate/homepage/homepage.asp Yes, they're not cheap, but I noticed that my feet were in a lot better shape at the end of the day after switching over to these. dt
  14. That's pretty much it. Plus, conditioning helps. Before the Europe trip, Mary and I got up every morning at 5:30 and did a five mile walk. It made all the difference on the trip, as we'd be tired at the end of every day, but neither one of us was ever sore. Well, I had pain from falling down and ripping my leg open, but that's another topic... dt
  15. This is officially THE GREATEST THING EVER!!! I only wish you had hours and hours of video of this, as I can only imagine the comedy potential. We need this channel on Comcast now! This new set of photos was extra entertaining. And that vertical turn or whatever the hell that is on that mouse looks INSANE! That looks like one messed up ride. And I'm sad to hear about the removal of the burping dark ride, being such a dark ride fan and all... dt
  16. ^^ That computer will not be good for video. Celeron processor and on board video will end up driving you insane. Plus, it's HP, and they're only good for holding doors open. They're not very reliable. The Dell listed above, if it's upgraded as listed, is a good deal and will work for video. Remember, you want to get a computer that you're going to be able to get work done on, not constantly be having to find ways to work around problems. . dt
  17. This thread kicks ass! More MS Paint action, please... dt
  18. OK, as someone that's built/purchased a number of different computers for animation/graphics over the years, here's my advice: First, you want a P4. Skip the Celeron. You MUST get a computer with it's own dedicated graphics card! I cannot stress this enough, the "shared" memory for these onboard video cards will eventually drive you insane when the machine gets all choppy and won't run correctly. And it's a pain in the ass for games. You really want a machine with a decent Nvidia GeForce or ATI Radeon card. Here's the other thing you need for video: disk space, disk space, disk space! Raw captured video sucks up HD space, so the more disc space you have, the better. And I'd stick with an internal drive, for speed. What you really want to do is have 2 HDs in your system, one that holds the OS/Programs, and the other that is just used to hold video files. Doing it with only one drive is going to lead to system problems. Dell is an excellent choice. But what you want to do is check their site every day, as their prices constantly change, and they have new deals every day. Use that site listed in another message for coupon codes as well to save you cash. If you're low on funds, I'd keep saving money so you can get a computer that won't frustrate you in the long run. If you have any other questions, ask away... dt
  19. Diet Coke is the greatest liquid ever created, while Pepsi products are the Official Softdrink Of Hell... dt
  20. The husband probably needs 500k to somehow get the annoying ringing out of his head caused by her constant whining. What an irritating skank... dt
  21. That was a pretty cool little radio show. The guys had personality, and you could tell that the one guy has a background in production, as it was very professional sounding. I thought Robb did a godo job in the interview, though they should perhaps have talked to him a little longer. Overall, a cool show... dt
  22. It does seem a little strange that the girl was treated at the park and they noticed nothing but her intoxication. If the story is true, let's all hope that the attackers are put in prison... dt
  23. All I can say is that you guys are lucky Mary took the digital camera with her to Europe, otherwise you might be treated to a very special Dave photo TR... dt
  24. This is kicking all sorts of ass. And you work in a reference to "The Jerk". The 26th anniversary DVD comes out this week. Dave "the new phone books are here!" Thomas
  25. We saw Eddie Money open for REO Speedwagon about three years ago. He was drunk off his ass, stumbling around stage and making all sorts of bizarre comments. An amusing evening. That had to be the largest number of people I've ever seen on the beach at Santa Cruz! I don't think I've seen a crowd anything close to that there... dt
