Photo TR: Hanno at TPR's Scandi Trip 09
Meteornotes replied to Hhappy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
While everyone will be entertained by different things, I think most people will agree that: - Hanno is an amazing photographer, and deletes better pictures than 99% of us would ever take. - Every trip report is not going to be filled with spine-busting hilarity. There's room for all sorts of interpretations. And remember, some folks do not have the comedy gene, know this, and don't try to be funny (a lesson some could learn). Keep kicking ass, Hanno. You rule. dt -

Sadly, like Wes and Joey said, there's big money to be made in suing other companies (especially competitors) over patent violations. Instead of perhaps putting the time and energy into making their products better, companies (and especially their lawyers) spend far too much time filing lawsuits against each other. And yes, Apple has been the target of these types of suits more than once. There have been attempts to re-write the patent laws to prevent these kinds of abuses, and to make it impossible for firms to go around buying very obscure patents and then use them to sue giant companies like Amazon and Apple. But since most of congress is made up of lawyers, these attempts have been, um, less than successful... dt

^Nah, they write their own songs, and actually can play their respective instruments. Which is unlike almost all other music that's popular now, therefore it would have greatly confused the audience. I still like someone else's idea that the torch lighting ceremony should have consisted of Rush playing the 2112 overture, and then a flaming drumstick is tossed into the torch, lighting it. That would have been amazing... dt

^Great job. Would love to hear more about your meal. I've never eaten there. At least two of the original Foghat members are dead. I think it's like seeing one of those old '60's Motown groups now with no original members, that have licensed the name from the owners. Kind of sad, actually... dt

^^They switched over to "The Marriage Ref" (which was HORRIBLE AND NOT FUNNY IN ANY WAY) at 10:30 here, then local news, then the rest of the closing ceremonies. Which I thought was pretty idiotic programming, but given the decisions that NBC made for broadcasting the Olympics, I was not surprised. So there was Nickleback and other random musical acts, and then the whole thing just sort of...stopped. Seemed like an odd ending for the ceremony. And I'll agree that no Rush was lame! dt

GOOD FOR THEM! I'll take the advice and word of people who seem to be the REAL experts in this field! It just amazes me that based on some of the posts I've read in the past two days that I had no idea that so many high schools and online Wiki pages offered: - MBA programs - Animal Psychology & Care programs - Law degrees As it seems like many of our members claim to be "experts" in these fields. It's one thing to have an opinion, sure, but it's another to come off like you know more than the people who do this as their career. --Robb "Sometimes I think sharks and killer whales really, really need to eat more people..." Alvey I 100% support and agree with this statement! dt

I was watching that last night, and SK was totally ripped off. There was barely a bump. And even if SK was going to be disqualified, the US should NOT have been given a medal, just because of how far back they were in the race. Their celebration when they suddenly got the bronze was really annoying. dt

^The wait for that log flume was seriously one of the most soul-draining moments of my life. I can almost give myself a headache just by thinking about it. Legoland is awesome fun, though. I really recommend anyone visiting the park if they get a chance. dt -
The Venetian is awesome. Stayed there last year, and there are some photos of the place in this PTR. dt
