  1. When Ghostrider opened, it was one of the best rides in the world. I still remember the rides I had on it at the (I think) first Solace where it rained before ERT. They are still some of the best coaster rides I've ever had. There's a great coaster hiding in that woodpile. All it would take is CF to make a commitment to restoring it to what it was. I just don't see them doing it, as when you look at their properties, having a world-class wooden coaster does not seem to be a priority to them. dt
  2. Post Of The Day. Mainly because it contains a picture of Dio. dt
  3. Iron Rattler sounds like a band that should open for Judas Priest. Still not sure about the whole "barrel roll on a wood coaster" thing. I'm certainly not as excited about this as many people are, but I'll wait to pass final judgement when I actually ride one of these things. I did really like NTAG, so I'm curious to see what they do with this project. The can't really make Rattler worse than it was at this point. dt
  4. I'm going to guess that this won't happen. dt
  5. Oh, this will end well. Seriously, I'd ask if anyone that works at Carnival has a brain, but after being on one of their horrid death ships, I already know the answer to that... dt
  6. HELL YES! Nice photos. It's a shame this park isn't as good as it could be. And that wave pool scares me. dt
  7. ^Well, that's not cool. Was looking forward to checking this place out, and they've already changed the menu for the worse? Boo. dt
  8. ^I think a post about how you got this position would make for a good read. I'm sure there are a lot of people that read this site that would love to be an intern at some sort of theme park-related company, and any tips you could give about getting involved in the industry would be appreciated. dt
  9. Savatage - Sirens dt
  10. As someone that spent 26 years of his life in Harrisburg, I vote "yes" on this. And people haven't been paying attention to the height restriction on the bumper cars for, um, forever. Pretty much every incident where I had to call security when I worked at Hershey was because of an insane guest screaming and making threats, insisting that they HAD to bring their embryo or whatever on the bumper cars. "They're sitting with me! They'll be safe!" was the usual argument. Dumb people are dumb. dt
  11. This was amazing entertainment. Instead of the stupid and pointless Bizzarro makeover, they should have just brought in more monkeys! dt
  12. This is seriously the best shirt ever. The only way it could be improved is if it somehow made fun of Cedar Point & King's Island as well. dt
  13. Fire makes any coaster better. dt
  14. ^2,000 elephants on fire would get me to buy a season pass. dt
  15. Awesome photo of my favorite ride at Hersheypark. I'll have to try and get over there next year to try Sky Rush... dt
  16. This. This. A billion times this. Having been to several PPPs and at least two (possibly more) TPR days at Knoebels, there is no contest. TPR days are a lot more fun, a lot less crowded, and pretty much free of the horrid self-entitled coaster enthusiasses that now plague PPP. I will never go to another PPP, they are just too crowded and don't really offer anything unique any more. dt
  17. Loved the wolf report. We had a great time checking out all the animal exhibits during ECB. dt
  18. Disturbed - Land Of Confusion dt
  19. Ghostrider in 1999 was one of the best rides in the world. Now? Not so much. There is a great coaster in that woodpile, but it would take time and money to bring it back, something that Cedar Fair has demonstrated again and again that they are not interested in investing in when it comes to wood coasters. So until the mindset changes, Ghostrider will continue to offer its spine readjustment services for any riders. dt
  20. Awesome photos. Only made it to the BGW portion of ECB, but had an amazing time. dt
  21. Nah, I've seen this before. I think it's been posted to my Facebook wall by other people at least five times! It is awesome, but I'd never buy one because I'd likely never use it. There is something similar that works as a cat bed that I have thought about getting, as it would amuse me to see my cats sleeping in it. dt
  22. You're not the only one that has been thinking this. While it certainly looks interesting, no one can really judge how this inversion is going to work/feel until people are on it. I did really like NTAG, though, so I'm cautiously optimistic about this. dt
