  1. NO shocker here, but Dinosaurs Alive! is going extinct October 28th. The DA store will close after Labor Day. https://www.kingsdominion.com/blog/2018/8.30-dinosaurs-alive-extinction
  2. The ride is going where Whistlestop Park is/was (former Deja Vu location).
  3. New Winterfest information for this year, with additional rides open (including Flight Of Fear) and expanded areas. Also a New Year's Eve Celebration. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2018/august/dont-look-now-but-winterfest-is-just-around-the-corner
  4. It's also not record breaking with magnetic launches either. This one has 4 as well...also a racing launch coaster: https://rcdb.com/4245.htm It's still shown in the video:
  5. It's standard procedure on Steel Vengeance, Twisted Timbers and Storm Chaser to have the ops lower the lap bar. I'm not 100 % sure about the RMCs at Six Flags parks (hadn't been on those or followed as closely), but I think it's the same for all RMCs, especially since the incident with NTAG.
  6. The park closes at 6pm and the announcement is at 9pm. I would think not.
  7. Here is a pic from this year I took of it. It's across from Woodstock Express. I hadn't ridden it personally, but looks like a lot of fun. I don't do rides that spin around well...lol
  8. Yes. You heard correct. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/play/events/teacher-appreciation-weekend
  9. They got it from Busch Gardens Tampa. I want it back...lol Falcon's Fury replaced it. Good replacement, but I loved that ride. It was the only other flat at the park worth riding (to me).
  10. It's a quarter mile length, 3 minute journey. I watched a different stream that was clearer. It seems he stated 1/4 length and 3 mile journey, but meant to say 3 minutes.
  11. CP's Express Hotel was great when I stayed in June. That's a great price for it too (I paid $100 a night for 4 nights). Besides the pool and gift shop it's pretty much no frills (no breakfast, etc.), but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. It was updated last year and the room I had was very clean. The elevators can be a little slow, but otherwise I had a great stay. I would definitely stay there again, unless I budget for Breakers in the future. The other motels/cheaper accommodations nearby look a bit run down for my liking.
  12. A good portion (if not all) Florida public schools and most colleges/universities are out that whole week. Christmastown will also be going on in the evenings (included with park admission). The park will be busier than a normal weekday as when school is in. You should still however be able to get through the park without QQ. Should the park be busier than you like, you can always purchase it at the park. I wouldn't buy beforehand. I've been numerous times where it was dead and would see people with QQ and I'd personally be pissed had I paid for something that wasn't needed. The park is open 10-10 so you should have ample time to get all the rides in. As a heads up, it would be good to try and see all the animals early on (before lunch) when they are most active, especially the tigers. Once it starts getting dark, they block most of the habitats off (unless it's part of the main path).
  13. No. It's going to be a Skyrocket II. Could one of the others show up eventually? Sure.
  14. It's not a Mack. It's Gale Force (an S&S Sansei). https://rcdb.com/13346.htm
  15. Apparently they are testing pouches on Twisted Timbers' trains for loose articles. Since I'm not sure what coaster sites are banned from this forum, just do a search for "cell phone pouch on Twisted Timbers" and you'll find it. It's been posted in numerous places on FB.
  16. Some of us are just cheapskates who don't wish to pay extra to ride on a road when it's not necessary. Not everyone lives where tolls are common. Obviously there are some instances it's unavoidable (like driving north on I-77 through WV to get to Ohio from VA). I didn't need to use the OH Turnpike from Cleveland, however I wasn't coming from the airport (went to A Christmas Story House). The only time we generally don't mind tolls driving in FL is when we head to Orlando and use the Turnpike. It's a pain trying to bypass that coming from the north on I-75; though have done it a few times.
  17. ^That's what many are thinking (based on the leaked layout).
  18. https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/plan-your-visit/park-operating-schedule
  19. Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster. For those that don't count those, then it would be Storm Chaser at Kentucky Kingdom.
  20. Well, I take back the pointless part in regards to having shade. It was quite hot both days I was at the park. Had I sat in the front at least once, maybe it would have made more sense. I'm just a back-seat rider for most coasters.
  21. ^Well I rode it 2 days in a row before coming to that conclusion...lol Also my wooden coaster experience is limited to the Southeast US, OH & KY.
