Six Flags Over Georgia Horror Cave

^^ I would agree with this statement! Some moderately thrilling flat rides and a Eurofighter or similar coaster would kind of bring that area up to par for the whole family. -

Powderkeg was truly one of the suprise hits for me on that trip (and it was an AMAZING trip!) I knew I'd love SDC, since I love Dollywood - but there were so many neat suprises and CAVES!!! I am truly looking forward to going back again next summer -

I agree that this is a signature ride for them and I cannot wait to try it out, but let's not forget Powder Keg which you cannot find something similar anywhere else (outside of China if I'm not mistaken) Really?! I'll admit my experience is pretty limited compared to some of y'all, but I'm kind of surprised you'd say this. There are plenty of launch coasters; I've been on Mr. Freeze in St. Louis and Poltergeist in San Antonio. What makes Powder Keg so different? The way the trains are moved to launch, the compressed air launch, the fire effects, the use of the terrain and the setting, the theming. The overwhelming response to this ride by the TPR tour there in 2010 was, "why haven't more parks built these??" It is just overall a very complete and great ride. I like the freezes and the flights of fear and other launchers - but none of them are as just plain fun as Powder Keg. -

Thanks SO much for posting these!! It's always been a dream of mine to ride on an elephant in Thailand! They are some of the most fascinating animals in my opinion and I just love them! Looking forward to the rest of the update! BTW - I have no idea what the food was, but it looked freaking delicious! David

^^ You need to talk to your Sister about this. That way you will have someone in your family that knows. You will know the right time to tell your mother, but until then - having someone in the family that knows and will keep your confidence will make you feel SO MUCH BETTER. Families can be very tricky. Just be patient and go with your gut. D.

I miss this thread Still gay here! Also - Sharon Needles from DragRace is going to be in my town in October with Raven following in November. I never, NEVER go to the bar they perform at here in Savannah (I am pretty far removed from the twink population that inhabits the place) but I will DEFINITELY be going to see each of these performers! Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread
jynx242 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm pretty sure the parks maintenance budget is set at the park level - not at the chain level. I'm also wondering if SFA will be getting Flashback - the boomerang from SFoT to fit in the old Two-Face spot... -

^ You are certainly welcome - you all do a wonderful job and have an amazing park! I was there in 2010. Still LOVED The Voyage, but it was getting pretty rough. -

^ I'm truly hoping they get the Timberliner issue resolved. Not being a smart a$$ here - but I want the Voyage to be as re-rideable as it was in 2007. I still love it, and it is still one of my favorites - but I couldn't ride more than twice without having to take a break the last time I was there. But I do want to give a HUGE Congratulations to Holiday World. It is truly a great park with wonderful employees and it is great to see them getting the accolades that they so heartily deserve. -

Hidden/Secluded Park Areas
jynx242 replied to coastercrazy 9's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At SFoG - the Carousel is really nice - there are rocking chairs up there and usually a nice breeze. The areas on Carousel hill are all usually quiet. Also, as mentioned earlier, the path and plant tunnel between Georgia Cyclone and Acrophobia can be a good place to relax. At BGT - the paths that go towards the animal exhibits (kind of near Rhino Rally) are usually nice and quiet along with the smoking area next to Montu. -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
jynx242 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My group was commenting during ECB that it was odd that Kings Dominion did not have a Mine Train type ride. I know for me - that was the "step-up" coaster from the kiddie. Perhaps they will be getting some sort of Vekoma Mine Train ride which will help fill out Planet Snoopy. Not sure of the space theme - but anything is possible... I'm interested to find out what they have in store. David -

Thanks for posting! I absolutely LOVED Canobie when we went last year. It is just plain charming and the people were all so very nice! -
SOOO looking forward to this!! Anyone who is flying solo and worried about meeting people - don't worry! If anything - come find me. I'll be with friends from previous TPR Trips, but I love to meet new people and I've never met a stranger!! My avatar is my picture and I'll be with the catty and lauging group. We're hard to miss!! I found that non-wheel seat rides on Beast were pretty great. The nighttime rides were epic - until I sat right on a wheel...my chiropractor LOVED that -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Voyage and... ? I haven't heard anything about Legend or Raven getting Timberliners. Remember, the Timberliners *might be* a trade off of sorts for any new installation, but won't necessarily make a better ride (or reverse). There were rumblings out a couple of years ago suggesting that Raven would be getting T-Liners as well. I think they tested some on it??? I can't remember the details exactly, but I remember the idea. I feel the same way about Holiday World. I've always found the folks that run the place EXTREMELY kind and the staff was some of the nicest and best I've seen.
