  1. The hill that goes from Acrophobia down towards Thunder River (basically the path that is under the sky buckets.) It's just a long incline and by the end of the day will just wear you out . I'm gonna make a guess about the sky buckets running...I was looking at the mechanics while waiting in line on Easter Sunday and it kind of hit me...there is A LOT going on with the sky buckets. The cables are constantly moving and go over those sets of gears - under the floor - and back up to the other side. There is just a lot of mechanics for what appears to be a pretty simple ride. Also - they were one of the first attractions in the park (there used to be two sets - one going perpendicular to the existing set.) This means they are kind of old and probably require extensive maintenance to keep them in tip-top shape. For lower capacity days, I can completely see them not running them to have maintenance performed.
  2. ^ LMAO!! I am quite pleased that this park seems to have "turned the corner" from it's less stellar days. I remember a lot of the Six Flags parks went through a phase at one point or another where they just plain went downhill. I'm wondering if the old Iron Wolf trains will have been rehabbed for the re-installation. There is a good chance they might track much better after a complete tear-down / rebuild. I'll agree - the coaster looks great! Much improved over the kind of rusty, dull metal theme it had going on as Iron Wolf. David
  3. ^ The ad wrap is off of Mindbender and the sky buckets were running all weekend over Easter. There seemed to be fewer "buckets" than usual, but we rode it across the park (we were feeling particularly lazy by that part of the day and that hill is a $%@.)
  4. ^ You should watch it. It is SOOOO much fun! And I agree - SHARON NEEDLES all the way. I freaking LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE her. Her look is over the top, she is funny as heck and she truly seems like someone I'd like to hang out with. D.
  5. Had an AMAZING time over the Easter Weekend at SFoG. I truly look forward to the Cyclone having all of the track replaced. That nice appetizer at the beginning was amazing. Always loved that ride, even when it felt like it was running on square wheels . Got 6 back-to-back rides on the Mindbender, which was delivering its always epic rides and Goliath was awesome as usual. ^ As far as I recall, Ninja received one of the trains from New Jersey. It actually runs smoother with that train. You still have to ride in the "brace position" but it has actually been enjoyable on my last two visits.
  6. Charles and I will be there. Had to pass on the big TPR trip for the first time in 5 years so I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to "gettin' my fix!"
  7. Well - we wont' have to worry about how LOGO presents the gay community any more...they are going to stop being a "gay network."
  8. Unfortunately that's the way SF prefers running things. ^ I've can't recall ever seeing this attitude at SFoG. The teams usually seem to be doing their best to send full trains.
  9. ^ THIS! I look forward to seeing what they do!!
  10. Thanks for posting these mister! Glad to see you are still seeing the world.
  11. As I get better with the Photosynth panorama app, peoples heads and roof supports won't disappear from the pix. Problem is, you can't keep them from moving Hmmm - and I thought Goofy just decapitated that woman . Oh well...
  12. Hey - Thanks for posting the pictures!
  13. This has always been my understanding regarding the height restrictions. WOrked there a LONG time ago 1986 and 1987. I remember growing up and going to the park a lot. It seems like they used to get a "bigger" ride one year, then a more family style ride the next and they would kind of flip-flop ride types like that. I have always loved that park and can't wait for my annual Easter Sunday visit this year!! One month from today!!!!!
  14. It looks really really cool! I have to say it looks a lot "bigger" than I thought it would. Can't wait to hear rider reviews of it once it opens.
  15. These improvements are making me very excited for Coastermaina this year. I've never been to this event before, and haven't visited Cedar Point since 2007. I, personally, love a Nighttime park experience. Parks can really come alive after dark, but neglected lighting, etc, can really diminish the experience.
  16. I am quite happy with the changes that I am reading about at SFA. It does appear that things are being done to make the guest experience there enjoyable again. Perhaps I'll journey that way again this summer and check it out! As far as the nay-sayers in this thread go - their complaining actually makes me want to go even more. ^ and Bobby - perhaps we can arrange it so we can meet up if I go this summer! It would be great to see you again!
  17. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this trip report. I learned a lot about a couple of parks I have never really thought about. I also have a love for all things Anton, so I doubly appreciate the report
  18. ^ Agreed! Whether or not you are a Potter fan - the idea is brilliant.
  19. You will definitely enjoy it! It is a truly lovely park and one of my favorites in the chain.
  20. Why have I not heard of this upcoming masterpiece?!?! Thanks for the photos DT...you rock.
  21. ^ I completely agree. Your sexuality is really just a small part of the "total you," and that is still a work in progress . Concentrate on just being yourself and everything will fall into place.
