Hey blackcurrent, I lived in Huntington Beach for 7 years (1996-2003), and I have to say that I would highly recommend living there. (I currently live just down the road in south Orange County.) Obviously, if you like the Beach and all of the activities that go with that, then you'll probably enjoy life in HB. I never had any problems with crime. (Though your car can get broken into, just like it can in any other city) That's just part of life. If you're going to rent an apartment, you'll have many great options near the beach. (I could recommend some places to you) Every year there are many surfing competitions, and other activities for yourself as well as kids. Not to mention a great 4th of July parade. As for your childs education, HB is a big city there are many public as well as private schools available to you. (Including religious or even Montessori educational practices) In the end, if you decide to move here, I don't believe you'll be disappointed. I plan to move back to HB in the future, I really loved it there. A site for some additional info on HB is www.wikipedia.com

Episode--The Beginning of the End. 1/31/08 LOST has finally returned! I wish the season was going to be longer than 8 episodes, but that's still 2 months worth! The season starts off with Hurleys Flash Forward car chase, where we learn he's a member of the "Oceanic Six?" Obviously Hurley knows what happened to the other 815 survivors,(left behind on the island???) since Jack later asks him if he is going "to tell". Who exactly visited Hurley in the mental institution? Mathew Abbadon could have been the Smoke Monster, when he leaves the room you really only see a shadow exiting the door. Jacobs cabin makes another appearance, this time for Hurley. Did Jacob wish to see Hurley? When he looks into the cabin, he see's someone in the chair, not to mention the eye at the door. So we know that Hurley can also see Jacob..... Charlie returns, and I don't believe that he was a part of Hurleys imagination. ("I am dead, but I'm also here") Charlie was there to talk to Hurley about the people left behind on the island, when he tells him "They Need You". Jacks character has developed a harder edge compared to his more diplomatic past. This is obvious when he was willing to shoot Locke in the face! As a side note, the word "HO" shows up many times in this episode. In the mental institution there are two letters on a back shelf. (A Blue "H" and an Orange "O") When Hurley see's Charlie in the convenience store, he says that Charlie is next to the "Ho Ho's" and finally when Hurley plays Horse with Jack,(and jack misses two throws) Hurley says thats "HO". H and O are numbers 8 and 15 in the alphabet. Overall, I like the episode, and I'm looking forward to next Thursday night.

Amazing water slides

So do you live in a town that's no where near a Waterpark??? That's no problem, just do what these people did, and build your own Extreme downhill waterslide! www.dumpalink.com/videos/Awesome_homema ... -5233.html -
I think that a reason they would hire 16 year olds is simple---Cheap Labor. Most 16 year olds are willing to work for squat (minimum wage). Plus if it's there first real job, they will probably be motivated to work hard. I think that being a ride operator would be a great first job, not to mention working at a theme park. You'll probably make a lot of new friends and have a great time.

Great signs at that event....... Abortion: Don't let kids ruin your career. Euthanasia: Don't let parents ruin your retirement. I can understand the arguments for and against Euthanasia. On one hand if you or a family member is terminally ill, (probably in significant pain) with zero chance of recovery, then why should you be forced to live out an existence until you slowly "waste away" in agony and finally die. On the other hand, you could have a family member who is depressed and has lost the will to live, but could be treated with medication. Another situation is to have an older family member (in good health) who feels that they are a "burden" to the family, so they opt for this way out. Personally, I would support Euthanasia for people who are terminally ill. If someone is wasting away from Cancer or Aids etc... or they are in horrible pain, this is awful way to slowly die, and being drugged up on morphine or whatever 24/7 is no way to live.

Chargers Win!!! Wow! I was sure it was going to be the Pats vs. Colts for the AFC Championship game. San Diego hasn't won a road playoff game in quite a while, but they stood their ground and got the win. But the Chargers season should be coming to an end in New England next week. The Patriots are on a roll and I don't see anyone stopping them.

Nice Trip Report, It looks like you had a great time. As for the Colts losing the game, well I'm sure that didn't come as a great surprise. The Colts had nothing to gain through this game, so why risk a key injury before the playoffs. Whereas the Patriots played everyone until the end of the game to help set all of those new records. (Including the new record for most touchdowns by a quarterback in the NFL!) Anyhow, I'm looking forward to a rematch between the Patriots and Colts in the AFC Championship game. Though both of our teams should be worried about Jacksonville, I believe they could upset either one of us. Go Patriots! -

There's no doubt that the teenagers in question were at fault. But, we have all been "Young and Dumb" at some point in our lives. At that age you feel invincible, and I would imagine that in their minds it was inconceivable that their actions would have lead to this outcome. I'm sure that some of those who were injured that day, are still suffering (physically and/or mentally) from the consequences of that mistake. As for all of the lawsuits, that's why these parks carry insurance. (To protect themselves from the stupidity of others) -
Apparently, the cruise ship lost power and struck an Antarctic Glacier. A passenger aboard the ship reported that after the power went out, that the ship began drifting backwards....... Robert O'Connor from Indiana stated "I actually saw the wall of ice coming up the starboard side. It came up fairly quickly, and the ship drifted into it." In the end they restored the power to the ship, and no one was injured. Then to calm his nervous passengers, the Captain wisely opened up the bar and gave "free drinks to everyone!" www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22429821/

Britney's Little Sis Jamie Lynn Spears is Preggers
BelizeIt replied to gnewton34's topic in Random, Random, Random
^^That would be unbelievable. (and the press would love it) There's no reason to put the Father-To-Be in Jail for statutory rape. Lets face it, jails are already (((Way))) over crowded as it is, and it's not as though the Sex wasn't consensual. Jails need to be reserved for actual criminals, (burglary, Rapists, Violent Felons, Etc...) Rather than some 18+ year old guy who just happened to have sex with a more-than-willing underage girl. (Plus they've been dating for a couple of years) Hopefully, the "Nanny" will be a good mother to this newborn, as I'm sure that the new "Mama" spears will no doubt continue to live her life anyway she chooses. This newborn child will live a privileged life, because Mama Spears has the financial resources available to her. The problem is, that many of the young girls who watch her popular show, do not have the same resources available to them. So while they may assume that they can handle the responsibility thrust upon them by unexpected pregnancy, chances are they can't................. One can only hope, that if "You" decide to have sex, that you take whatever precautions are necessary to make sure, that a roll in the hay doesn't lead to a life long commitment........................ -
Britney's Little Sis Jamie Lynn Spears is Preggers
BelizeIt replied to gnewton34's topic in Random, Random, Random
I'm confused.....How can she possibly be pregnant??? Is she a married women? Oh wait, that's right, teenagers do in fact have sex. (Quite often) So perhaps the countless parents out there who are too embarrassed to talk to their own kids about sex need to get a LIFE, and provide their children with all the Facts. Kids never want to think about their parents doing it, and vice-versa. But, knowledge is key.......... When you become pregnant at the way to early age of 16, you've really screwed up your life. These are your "Fun" years (16 to 25), when you should live it up, travel the world (If possible), date (aka have sex), with a variety of people, and eventually "Settle" down with that great someone, and perhaps start your own family. When you get knocked-up at 16, your options become extremely limited. Much of the excitement brought about by your impending "arrival" will be diminished when your mate bails out on you for a less pregnant girl. (Because responsibility is a gigantic and imposing word for someone that young) So while the papa goes on to date other girls, you're left with most of the child rearing duties yourself. (Yes, having kids is a lot of work!!!) At least now, most teenagers have access to the internet and can gather knowledge that was not available in the past...... So, no excuses, be smart, use protection, and be informed! Get pregnant when your married! To do so otherwise is just plain dumb.... -

No way.......You must be joking! That's to Funny! I love Fantasmic, I try to watch it every time I visit the park. (I have a season pass) I'll be looking for that the next time I visit. Over the years, I've never gotten tired of this show.....It's Fantastic!!! -
^The key term is "Second" seed. What do they say about "Second" place..... they are the 1st LOSER! The New England Patriots are without doubt the best team in the NFL, and possibly the Greatest Team of all-time! (Oh "spy-gate" etc... whatever...teams have been doing that forever, besides you can only use that "Excuse" for the opening game of the season, the Pats have managed to win Every game since then) Bring on the AFC Championship Game! Lets see how the "Dome" happy Colts handle a bit of inclement New England weather. The Patriots have a date with Destiny!!! Adios Miami! The New Champs of the AFC will be toasting the Champagne for years to come! Moss and Brady have a date with History! I have to say that both the Patriots and Colts are exceptionally well run organizations. Because of this, both teams manage to produce contenders every year.........This is why the AFC Championship game is like a Superbowl itself! Go AFC!!!

The Cheaters are exposed............... How pathetic is this list......Clemens!!!, Bonds, Tejada, Gagne, Palmerio, Sheffield, Troy Glaus, Gary Mathews....Etc.... My God a total of 16 Yankees!!! Past and present! All of their so-called achievements were done with the use of performance enhancing drugs! One can only hope that the "current" generation of players will avoid the mistakes of the past. Sadly, those "worthless" players will do (or cheat) whatever it takes to win, I hope the current younger generation will just use their abilities......rather than the syringe. -
Robb that last photo was the best by far. You know that you have some wonderfully demented parents, when they put their kids through that! Does KidTums have any Santa photos this year?

I think that Disney needs to send Wes on some additional business trips! I'm curious Wes, did you "pocket" the "Liqua-Gel"? Being a young unmarried guy, I'd imagine you could probably appreciate a product like that! You are obviously the new POV master! I'll never look at a moving tramway the same way again............. But my favorite by far, was the the F.U. POV, I hope that we get to see your Unicorn again on some future POV thread........It was hilarious!

The shooter was a pathetic individual, who "decided" to randomly ruin the lives of countless individuals. If your life is total crap, then put the gun barrel to your own skull, rather than destroy the lives of countless innocent people. I wish this jackas* had lived, so he could spend the rest of his worthless life in prison, where he belonged.............

I'm curious as to what Elissa has "Promised" Robb once he reaches his goal? Surely he must have some additional incentive to drop those 30 pounds. I use to own a health food store, so I saw countless people who wanted to lose weight, and I have to say that your progress to date is fantastic. To lose 20 pounds in only twenty days is a great achievement.

Wow! Sugar Free Pecan Pie........I didn't even know that was possible?! Pecan Pie is usually one of the most sickeningly sweet pies there is. Also, who the heck turned 7up into a Creme Cake? (is that a southern speciality?) It looks like you had a tasty Thanksgiving. Bring on the left-over Turkey Sandwiches!

It's great that you had the chance to experience a Japanese Baseball game when you were over there. They have some incredible players, like Daisuke Matsuzaka who played for the Boston Redsox this year and managed to help his team get a World Series title in his first year on the team!!! We are going to see many more Japanese players heading over to the major leagues in the years to come.

Well I'm going to the city of Fallbrook, CA (where my father lives) to have Thanksgiving dinner at the Pala Mesa Golf Resort. This is where we spent last Thanksgiving, and had a great time. But, since our last visit to this amazing resort, it has received some unfortunate publicity because a guest managed to suicide himself on the 18th green by accidently driving his Golf Cart off a 75 foot cliff!!! (I play golf, and I can't imagine how this could happen) But, I'm looking forward to spending time with my family at this Beautiful resort, which is what Thanksgiving is all about.

TV, Movie writers say they will go on strike.
BelizeIt replied to BelizeIt's topic in Random, Random, Random
Damn!!! Waiting almost a whole year for the 4th season of LOST was bad enough, never mind only getting "8" episodes out of it. (Of course when the DVD comes out for the shorten season, the cost will be the same as a full season) These writers need to come to some kind of mutually acceptable compromise. J.J. Abrams, has a lot of projects he's working on, 1-18-08 and Star Trek Etc... as well as LOST. The end result of this strike will likely be an endless series of new "Reality" shows, which require minimal writing, and a steady group of Morons who'll do anything to be on TV. God Help Us All!!! -
What happened to Thanksgiving?
BelizeIt replied to jackskellington101's topic in Random, Random, Random
I'm not exactly sure what it is you expect from Thanksgiving??? There really aren't many TV programs (unlike Christmas) dedicated to it. When it comes to Thanksgiving, the only TV program that is of interest to most people is Football! Usually the Dallas Cowboys Vs. Whomever..........
