Sindibad Morocco by Walibi [2013]
thomas2 replied to xRene1993x's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Are you FREAKIN kidding me?? They should invest in their current parks! Walibi Belgium hasn't had a new coaster since 2001 (Vertigo doesn't count, it was demolished after what, one day of operations?), two of the four "thrill coasters" at WB are SBNO, a whole bunch of flatrides got removed, and what do we get after all these years? New characters, fml. The only thrill rides at WB atm are a vekome woody, an SLC and a drop tower. That's It! -

Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread
thomas2 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
People thought the same thing in the early '90s, and then the Hanshin earthquake happened, which totally destroyed the faith of ALOT of Japanese in the government and the anti-earthquake systems they used. Saying they were prepared for this is not true. Sure they have earthquake building codes and warning systems in place, but the force of this earthquake was way beyond what they could have anticipated. We're talking about the biggest earthquake in Japanese history! The public transport system in the capital failed totally, and the communication network also. And Tokyo is about 400 km from the epicentre. Heck I tried to call with friends near Tokyo but it didn't work at all. -
How much Faster/Taller can we get?
thomas2 replied to Sir Coaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wait where do you get your information that ForMULA Rossa isn't the fastest anymore? Does it not launch at the promised speed anymore?? Yet less than 3 months later SD2k opened and kicked MF and it's fanboy' asses! -

People are such assholes. That's why my rule is: if I want to talk to them, I add them. Otherwise, not worth it. -
Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread
thomas2 replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Fuji-Q is also pretty famous througout Japan. Alot of my friends in the Kansai region knew about the park. There's also a bus service from Osaka to the park, which is an 8 hour drive one way, so people come from far to go to the park. Not to mention it's relatively close to Tokyo (and does feature unique coasters). I planned to go to Fuji-Q, but in the end didn't do it cause I didn't want to make the 8 hour trek and risk the chance of the coasters being closed. -

Nooooo that means no more Wok, the non-politically correct Asian dragon =[ I'll have to see how this whole rebranding turns out. Walibi was such an awesome icon. It looks like a rat now. -
Six Flags Great Adventure trip planning
thomas2 replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for all the answers! Looks like I'll have to prepare myself for a busy day How is the park's policy when it rains? Do they close any coasters down? And how fast do they close them (light drizzle <=> pourdown) -
Hey guys, I will be in NYC from april 14th 'till april 20th. Being a coaster nerd, I ofcourse want to go to SFGAdv. My first question is when is the best day to go. Since I want to spend an entire day at the park, it would have to be between the 15 and 19th. Will it be busy around that time? And should I look into buying a fast pass? Second question is how to get there. I won't be renting a car, so what is the best way to go from central Manhattan to the park and back? Thank you very much in advance!

Biggest Disappointment of 2010?
thomas2 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Biggest disappointment of 2010? Steel Dragon 2000 Haha jk The biggest disappointment was making the 2 hour trek on a local train to Parque Espana only to find Pyrenees closed because of the accident. Wow that was a bad day... Luckily it reopened weeks after that and I made the trek again. -

Hello all! As some of you may know, I spend a year at a Japanese university last schoolyear. I shot some 8000 pictures and thought of what I could do with all of them, so I turned them into a 130 page photobook, togheter with text from my blog. When I ordered the book I got an invite to put my book in the Hall of Fame, because theirs a competition going on to see which book gets the best overal scoring out of 5! Voting for a book is really simple, you just need to select the number of stars you think it's worth, and that's it! No need to register somewhere or use your emailadress. Since this is in dutch, I'll guide all non-dutch speakers so that it's easy for them to find. The below link should normally lead you directly to my book. http://kruidvat.fotoboekwedstrijd.nl/BE/page/79/fotoalbum/2166/ If this doesn't lead you to my book but to the main page, then you can easily go to my book by searching for 'Japan' in the box I encircled in the below image. And then click on my album with the title JAAR VD "REIZENDE" ZON. If you're on the page of my book, simply click the 'stem nu' button right under the book and give me rating (5 stars of course, since my book is obviously the best ). And that's it! But just for the record I'll post another image. You can look through my book of course by using the arrows under the displayed book. Pictures of coasters can be found on pages 116-117 and 126-131. The pages are 30x30cm big (12x12 inch) so some of these photos are deliciously large And final important thing. You can vote again by refreshing the page, up to 5 times per IP adress. So please give me as much votes as you can, because the first price is a travel check of 1500 euro, and I want to use it to finally get over the pond and ride some of the amazing coasters in the US. Thank you for your attention.

I usually keep my glasses on. I'm blind as a bat without them but I'm not afraid they'll fly away. I've done Steel Dragon 2000 multiple times with my glasses on and they were just fine. The wind didn't do anything. Same for White Cyclone, which is rough, but the glasses stayed on.

Heide Park Discussion Thread
thomas2 replied to Sebbe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
According to the reputable trips-n-pics website, Heide Park held a press conference discussing their new coaster, and it will be indeed a Dive Machine. The stats are rather disappointing, as this coaster will have a 40m drop, an immelman and a splash, and that's it. Bigger than Oblivion, but smaller than Sheikra or Griffon.
