  1. Yeah I haven't been to Walibi in years because they don't add anything. The only thing they do is restyle existing rides and then market them as being brand new
  2. Awesome pictures as always Hanno! How busy was it actually? How long did you have to wait for EGF?
  3. Concept art Source And construction has started! Source
  4. Yikes I got really sick in the Back to the Future ride at Universtal Studios Japan, can't image what it must be like if I go on this Potter ride. And while it is a very good thing that they're building this without the removal of other rides, I'm not a diehard Potter fan. And judging from the reactions that Potterland got in the US, it doesn't seem to have too much appeal to me.
  5. Steel: Steel Dragon 2000 Wood: White Cyclone
  6. This is just a torture machine by the Chinese governement, disguised as an amusement ride.
  7. This is such a huge and wide track that it makes everything look slower than it probably is. Human eye fail?
  8. I would kill to have a coaster like this in my country. Heck I'd be happy with one that would go straight into the final brake run after it's first drop!
  9. Oooh, that does explain alot
  10. Earned my Master's degree in Japanese Studies last year, and currently doing another Master in Management. Next year I'll probably enter a phd program in Japanese History.
  11. Watch out though, Moonsault Scramble has been closed for some years now, and it seems that Thunder Dolphin is still temporarily closed (http://at-raku.com/attractions/thunder_dolphin.htm) And Linear Gale has been closed too. You might want to reconsider going to LaQua with 2 of their coasters not operating...
  12. I don't care if it's a Gerstlauer or Maurer, as long as it is a fun and enjoyable coaster.
  13. I expected to see pictures of Nara Dreamland tbh.
  14. How can you be unhappy with it? I can see being indifferent but if you don't think it's worth the wait then don't ride it. Any time they can take a SBNO ride and make it operational again that's a win in my book, I hate seeing SBNO rides at a park. Personally I'd love to have the chance to ride it. What I meant was that I'd rather have them built a new coaster instead of reopening this one. Turbine should have never been SBNO in the first place. I'm getting the feeling that Walibi Belgium really have become the milking cow of CDA. Walibi is such an insanely strong brand in Belgium that people keep coming to the park, while CDA has taken ALOT more rides out of the park than added new ones. Why invest when people keep coming?
  15. Am I the only one not happy with the reopening of Turbine? I mean, it's a fun ride and all, but the capacity is horrible because they let the flywheel rest for 5 minutes or so in between the launches. Also, the last new coaster (not including the failed Vertigo) was built OVER 10 YEARS ago. I'd rather have a new coaster than an old rusty one. If they can fix the flywheel so that it can launches without a rest period, than I'm more happy, but I'd still prefer a new coaster over Turbine.
  16. Anyone have new pictures of the new 4D ride? RCDB says it'll open in october 2011, so I assume the track is completed by now?
  17. I was at Toverland today and a whole buch of people from Europa Park were there to shoot videos of Troy and record the sound of the coaster, so that they could use the recorded material to promote their new GCI. Pretty cool!
  18. My home park Walibi Belgium hasn't had a coaster since 2001 (not counting the failed Vertigo experiment). And yet people whine CW is building an amazing B&M giga coaster... Holy crap, stop the whining and be happy you're getting an awesome looking coaster!!! I would kill to have one of these in Belgium.
  19. I guess I did caught it on a bad day then, or that the train they used that day may have been rougher than the others. Regardless, I agree that it's an awesome and very intense ride, especially exiting the zero-g roll. An amazing coaster
  20. I love Parque Espana! And thanks for the vids, finally a good POV of the awesome mine train that made me giggle like a little girl every time! Did you ride Pyrenees all alone? I found it to be brutal, especially in the cobra roll, but with a filled train, it was much better. And I went there twice, and each time the park was nearly deserted. It's kinda in the middle of nowhere, but still, it's ackward when there's a big parade during the summer nocturnes and you're one of the only people watching. Thanks for the report and videos, bring back good memories. EDIT: I assume Nagashima Spa Land is next, love to hear your review of SD2k (which is a letdown tbh ) EDIT2: Just checked the Laqua website, and it looks like Thunder Dolphin is closed because of the accident that happened on the spinning coaster. They checked all the attractions and 10 of them are already open again, but the major ones like Thunder Doplhin aren't. Remember how long Steel Dragon was closed? Let's hope it really doesn't take years again before Thunder Dolphin reopens...
  21. I love Space Fantasy, especially the finale is very epic! Only downside is that it slows down all the time because of the block brakes, but then again, this allows a BIG number of trains on the track so the queue moves very fast!
