I just got back from a coaster trip a few days ago, during which I visited CP, Kennywood, and KI for the first time. I spent a couple of days at CP, one of those days being CoasterMania. I'll post a TR sometime in the next week, but for now, I'll just say I had a great time. I do believe this is my new favorite park. -
I'm glad you had fun. SFMM has some room for improvement (particularly in its operations), but overall, it's a great park. Even after visiting some other parks recently, Twisted Colossus is still one of my favorite coasters, and has some of the best operations in the park. It's quite the adrenaline rush! Are they only running with the VR or could you choose to ride without? I rode Drop of Doom this afternoon. VR is optional; part of the thrill of this ride is the view from the top, so I chose to forgo it. It seemed like at least half of the riders did the same. One nice thing about VR on this ride is that it doesn't seem to slow down operations as much as it did on Revolution. Since everyone sits in the same row, the ride ops can move more quickly down the line to check headsets.

I’m at the park today. SV is closed, but testing 2 trains. That’s a good sign for tomorrow, I think. Nevertheless, I’m really impressed with this park. Even without SV, CP has a fantastic coaster collection, and their operations are some of the best I’ve seen. It’s like SFMM with KBF’s atmosphere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

The enthusiasts I met at the passholder preview for Hangtime at Knott's were pretty strange and, frankly, annoying. The people I met when I left Hangtime to mix in with the rest of the crowd on some other rides were way cooler and more fun to talk to. It made me a little worried for what CoasterMania will be like. -
That's really weird, cause why would they have a giveaway to let people be the first riders on it, when that's in reality false and they open it today, without letting the winners know. It's kinda false advertising tbh.. The giveaway winners should call the park and demand their $0.00 back. Honestly, if you're being given free tickets to ride Tantrum, why does it matter if you're the first rider?

Looks like he's leaving a new "marker" on that wall. -
New paint on all rides? Have you seen the Georgia Scorcher? I agree about Georgia scorcher. But 1 coaster out of 500, is not a fair comparison. I agree too, I'm just saying that SFOG is a bigger park than Darien Lake and if SFOG can't afford to paint The Scorcher, how is Darien Lake gonna afford to paint all of their rides? Hope i'm not sounding too rude. It's not necessarily that they can't afford to do it; they're just putting their focus elsewhere. Even the rides at SF's flagship parks need a fresh coat of paint. Come down to SFMM and check out the faded/chipping paint on Tatsu, Viper, and Batman. They DID repaint Riddler's Revenge last year, so hopefully they'll give one of their other coasters some TLC later on this year. Anyway, getting back to Darien Lake, it sounds like this park's been seriously neglected over the past 10 years. I'm sure SF will fix it up over time, but don't expect it to happen overnight.

cancelled now. Drove from Ventura and was told here at the gate its was cancelled. Spoke to marketing manager and said sorry and that email was sent late last night. Advise him that I was asleep because I had the get up early. So pissed right now. As I was sitting in car typing this email. He came and knocked on my window. He said Fox11 is looking for people and wants me in the shoot. I guess I will get my chance to ride Hangtime today. That's a bummer, but I'm glad it worked out in the end. You'll really dig Hangtime; it's an awesome ride.

That station reminds me a lot of Ghostrider. Only two more weeks 'til I can see it in person. -

Cedar Point, unless I manage to sneak in a visit to SFMM within the next couple of weeks.
