Like a lot of people I never really liked the movie but I'm still quite excited about Pandora as a land! It's funny how being in a tactile and physically immersive environment can make for such a great experience even if your not a fan of the work/IP on which it's based on. Again, like a lot of people I feel the same way about HP. I don't care for the movies but I love the theme park version of them.

Cargo Shorts. Your thoughts?
wmay replied to ElectricUncleSam's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't like keeping things in pant pockets, period, so cargo shorts don't do it for me. I usually wear a backpack when I'm at a park. -

X2 freaked me out as well. Mostly because of that weird harness that looks (and feels) like the least secure and appropriate safety mechanism they could ever find for such an... interesting coaster. -

It was mid week but since both France and Great Britain had autumn holiday, and it was Halloween season it didn't make much of a difference that it was mid-week. -
I feel like the only one who has never made a habit of holding my hands in the air. I'm like 6.2 so not extremely tall or anything but I was still always afraid of smacking my hands into something.

Speaking of mazes, that's one thing that really terrifies me! I have no problem whatsoever with horror movies but horror mazes just freak me out!! I'm like a particularly sensitive 10-year old girl in them and I have no problem admitting it. I still go because I don't know maybe I'm a masochist but I always regret it once I'm inside! -

Nice to hear that you had a good time as well! I think I will plan my trip a little bit better next time because last year I managed to go during the autumn school holidays. It was rather crowded, around 45 min wait for the major attractions, which I've been told is crazy long by DLP standards! I still haven't been to the Chinese parks but would love to go. I'm definitely going once the new Frozen section is opened! -

I was there last year for the for the first time in over 10 years, just a few days before BTM closed, and what I saw was not deserving of the extremely bad reputation that DLP has gotten. The Alice labyrinth had seen better days and the fast food was more or less inedible, but otherwise I had a good time, and the park is nice! They might not have All the attractions that I would like but they do have a ton of really cool walkthrough attractions that you can't find anywhere else: Les Mystères du Nautilus, while a walkthrough, is a great attraction with DisneySea level of attention to detail. Skull Rock Adventure Isle is very cool and spooky and has a larger cave system than Tom Sawyer Island at either park. Alice's Curious Labyrinth, if restored to it's full potential, could be a really fun attraction, especially considering that it' quite large and has several sub-labyrinths so you actually do spend some time there. Le Passage Enchanté d'Aladdin was new to me, as despite DLP's overall lack of attractions I had somehow managed to miss it on my previous trips. It's a nice walkthrough with dioramas from Aladdin and pretty lanterns everywhere. La Taniere du Dragon, located underneath the castle (which btw is the most attractive castle of any park, imho) is maybe the the most impressive walkthrough in the park, mostly because of the giant animatronic dragon that awakens every few minutes, moves around and breathes fire! I'm not a paid spokesperson for DLP or anything. Like I said, there's a lack of some classic attractions, the park could do better at general upkeep and the fast food was terrible (although table service was pretty good, at least the Blue Lagoon restaurant), but as someone who hadn't been there in over a decade I didn't think it was as bad as some people have made it out to be. -

It's fun! Although I did preemptively pop a leftover Bonine before going on it the first time. Since I hit 20 I haven't been good with too much spinning. -
Arrival was ok. In fact, I quite loved it right up until like the last 20 minutes. Without spoiling anything I will just say that for me personally I don't like it when movies feel the need to explain everything in the end. Nothing in mainstream movies is left open-ended these days.

Fantastic Beasts was way better than I thought it would be. I didn't like any of the HP movies directed by David Yates so I was not expecting to like this one.

Drop rides and towers in general, mainly because I'm afraid of getting stuck at the highest point. If you get stuck on a coaster it's usually on the lift hill where there's a catwalk that you can safely use. If you get stuck at the top of a tower my fear is that they have to get you down using a crane. I know that there are ways of lowering the car manually if it gets stuck but still. Oh and tilt drop rides like Falcon's Fury? Yeah, F that. Never! -

This is exactly what I hope won't happen. You can't assume that tourists or people like myself who travel to the US once every couple of years have the option to just pick another day to visit the park. I don't plan my trips super far in advance so I'd be pretty pissed if I traveled from Europe and paid 100+ $ only to discover that Pirates, Indy and HM were already "fully booked" since several months!

Despite recent controversial decisions I actually don't think that forcing a Moana makeover on Splash Mountain is something that Disney would ever do. If they for some reason decided that Splash Mountain needed a new theme a more likely scenario would be to try to get a box office hit with a movie based on a story that already has thematic similarities with Critter Country or takes place in the American south, etc. Kind of like how some people (not necessarily me) think that Frozen was created with Matterhorn in mind as possible source material for a future Matterhorn makeover/incorporation into a Frozen land, should the movie be a success (which of course it was). -

I thought so too at first but the castle tower and turrets are much taller than the arcade so it should have been visible in the picture. It could be that they just decided not to add the castle in the rendering even though they plan on keeping it but that seems strange as well. -

Omg, I just noticed something in one of the pictures! If you look at where Balder is located in this picture (circled in red) it looks like the southern part of the park where Sagoslottet is currently located (circled in green) will be rebuilt to fit the hotel. Sagoslottet, a classic and still very popular family dark ride is nowhere to be seen in the picture! -

The hotel looks gorgeous and I love the plans for the new waterpark! I hope they do like Tropical Islands and have it stay open 24/7 (but knowing Sweden they probably won't). -

Also, if you ask me the coaster was never very enjoyable to begin with. I know some people like that super compact layout but for me it was always just rough and not very fun.
