  1. Why won't these rumors ever go away? Along with the Trolls who started them and continue to tell them.
  2. I actually really like Hurricane Harbor. It's a fun park. The only other Water Parks I have been to are Raging Waters, San Dimas (Last time was about 12 years ago), Wild Rivers, Irvine (Last time was about 15 years ago) and Schlitterbahn. Looking forward to maybe visiting some more waterparks this year.
  3. ^ Yes ... it's really that bad ... Sorry. Good luck on your trip though. Maybe an east coast member has a car they will rent you for the month for $1000 or something. If you were doing the West Coast I would rent you one of ours for that price.
  4. Smart move on their part IMO. Remember, there is a whole group of 13 year old girls just waiting to go crazy all over the backside ... er ... backstreet boys again. Since Britney's a bigger ho than Christina at this point, I think it's a good thing. Gregg "Will probably have to take our daughter to at least one teenie-bopper concert in my lifetime" C.
  5. NES SNES (gonna beat Donkey Kong Country one of these days) Playstation (just picked up the old Ape Escape! Happiness!) Sega Genesis (um, collecting dust) Sega Saturn (and I STILL play Nights into Dreams!) X-Box (all of five days old. As I type this (at work), I can sense Karen practicing Halo 2. Deathmatches are gonna get a whole lot nastier soon). I need to pick up a PS2 soon (Taiko Master! I fell in love with that game at X-S in Orlando!). Heck, I already have three or four games for it (old roommate)
  6. A hand puppet on a rollercoaster. Brilliant! Good job by everyone (had to be said). Question for the moderators: each week are the previous week's five entries going to be removed, or will there eventually be 40 videos up on the site (if so, who should we make cheques for bandwidth donations to?). //downloaded all five of 'em. Trying to conserve TPR's space on the internets. ///dammit, why didn't i think of a hand puppet?
  7. I can't believe Gregg didn't tell me about this! I put XL for comfort and you know we would have to get some for the kids as well. Kristi
  8. I'm torn. I think the number one problem with Islands only is that the walkways there seem a lot smaller in areas. With Islands, you're going to lose the parade which is quite enjoyable. But when I think back to how wonderfully immersive HHN 12 was (where each island retained parts of its normal daytime theming, such as having the villains taking over Superhero Island), I have to agree that last year was lacking on many fronts (and where the &^)# was the foam last year?!?). So honestly I don't care which way they go with it, I just hope it's more consistently good, as opposed to having all the dead zones where nothing's going on (oh, and specially designated Scare Zones? LAME. You should never know when that guy with a chainsaw is gonna be coming at you).
  9. Last year Islands closed a bit earlier than the Studios as well. Since the only entrance was at Islands, there was more to set up and they assumed that it would take longer for folks to get around to the Studios side (which really ticked off folks like me who opted to camp at Captain America's Diner to get a head start - we couldn't go past Point of Entry for at least a good 45 minutes to an hour (which of course meant lots of rides on Hulk with no waiting)). While I think last year was a little convoluted, I certainly hope they keep the two park thing going. Having the parade back last year was a nice surprise (and you KNOW they're going to want to do something with the Fear Factor area).
  10. First of all ... If I don't feel safe in a restraint I won't ride the ride. I think the most comfortable are good ol' schwartzkopf lap bars. I do like the restraints on the B&M Flyers as well.
  11. Photo Courtesy of Mousetimes http://mousetimes.com/iboard/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=4860 I wonder if the Matterhorn will fall down now???
  12. Nintendo Entertainment System Super Nintendo Sega Genesis GameCube Xbox
  13. This even made the Atlanta news last week. I was like ... WTF?
  14. Thanks for the info, Elissa. I guess I missed the other threads where this came up, otherwise I wouldn't have made you repeat yourself. End of threadjack
  15. Barry, it's possible I can meet you for the first 2 hours of park operation. I would have to leave by 12:30. But would love to say howdy!!! Gregg "A week in Georgia and I'm now saying "Howdy"" C.
  16. Two things: A. Robb, thanks for inserting the paragraph breaks. The TR, while nice and thorough, was a bit hard to read - my eyes kept skipping lines. That could be attributed to the fact that I'm an idiot. B. Anyone care to explain what the difference is in a standard QBot vs. a Gold QBot?
  17. We were there yesterday and got on Superman 3 times, GASM, Cyclone, and Acrophobia twice. All other coasters except for Deja Vu and Canyon Blaster. We were only there from 10am - 12pm and them from 3pm - 8pm. I didn't think it was that crowded. Look for a complete TR and photo's later.
  18. Reckon I oughta. I guess we've always gotten lucky as far as crowds go, so I'm probably WAY too accustomed to waiting no more than 10 minutes for anything. I can't think of a single ride in existence that could possibly justify a two and a half hour wait. At least you get a coupon for the Q-Bot thing when you buy season passes. Even if we don't make it back this season (though I suspect we will), it'll be worth the additional green.
  19. Caught "Kung Fu Hustle" yesterday. 90 minutes of absolute insanity. I never got a chance to see the director's "Shaolin Soccer," but I'm definitely going to have to add that one to my Netflix queue. The only problem I had was the idiot parents who brought their 5 and 6 year olds to see it (um, rated R folks!). The film's violence is mostly of the cartoonish variety, but some of it is quite serious (there's decapitations, shotgun-fu, and you see the shadow of a cat sliced in half (not as bad as it sounds)). About half an hour into it, I had to shed my cool demeanor to yell out "SHUT UP" because the kids really wouldn't. That mostly did the trick, though their mother wasn't much better ("oh my god" anytime somone took a severe beating, which happens quite often). And people wonder why I don't watch that many movies in theatres anymore (especially sad since I WORK at a bloody theatre).
  20. I'm actually really stunned about the lengths of those lines. Folks who love around SFOG represent: is it really that crowded, or is this just a major Saturday crowd? We're going to hit the park on a Monday in May; I was hoping the crowds wouldn't be that bad. Should I go ahead and expect to pick up a Lo-Q? Nice trip report, by the way. Sorry your day was so line happy.
  21. Not even thinking about dipping my toe in the CG vs. MK pool. It looks like someone peed in it. But thrillrider1 asks a great question: how's about an update on how everything went (and to appease everyone, what's YOUR take on Splash Mountain)? //not a fan of the live-action portions of Song of the South, but the animated bits were great. /listens to the Splash Mountain Medley nearly everyday at work
  22. Halo 2. (yeah, that's so five months ago, but we finally broke down and got an XBox last night. I'm sick of getting anally raped on game nights) EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION - the anal rape is when I get beaten in the game, not my punishment for sucking at the game.
  23. I loves my Scion xA (not the shortbus xB). Her name is Nemesis Prime. I don't know why she has a boy name. Other cars bow down to her superior turn radius. (just thought I'd toss something out of my bag of random)
