Yes, Happy Mothers Day to all the mom's out there. My kids made stuff at school for me and that is better than any store bought present. There are no words to explain how great it feels to be a mom. Kristi "very proud to be a mom and we are going to Hurricane Harbor!!!" C.

NEWS: Cedar Fair Posts Losses
Sir Clinksalot replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I find it funny that Magic Mountain, Disneyland, USH, Sea World, LegoLand and every other SoCal park faced the same "weather" as Knott's did but didn't bother to use it as an excuse for poor attendance. -

I actually found a cool punk version of 99 luftbaloons. I don't know who does it but I can get it to you guys. Would work good for a German park. -

I find it hilarious that Six Flags is posting gains and CF is posting losses. Deservedly so IMO. I haven't been to Knott's since Haunt, haven't had the desire to go ride SB, and probably won't anytime soon. Yet we are going to our 3rd Six Flags park this year in a few weeks. And will hopefully hit at least 1 other Six Flags park at some point this year. We may not get to Knott's this year until Haunt, if even then. -

Worst Movies You Have Seen

Wes, I'll take back what I said On Napoleopn Dynamite - I never saw what the big deal about it was, so I never bothered watching it. Maybe lumping it with Team America was a poor judgement on my part (I stick with my argument for Team America, however, because there's no argument that Parker and Stone did exactly what they wanted to do (well, not counting the money shot that got cut out). My initial thought wasn't based on the premise that filmmakers go out of their way and plan to make a bad movie. Anyone doing that should be taken out back and beaten. I was just trying to make a low budget indy exclusion clause, since independent films tend to get a lot of flack for being precisely NOT what people expect out of their big budgeted whatevers. I'll also agree with Wes that there was a three act structure in Pulp Fiction, just as there were strong character arcs. QT just doesn't like telling stuff in sequential order, a trait that everyone's going to get ultra-sick of eventually. But I still maintain that the truly bad movies are the one's where everything should of clicked but didn't. (quick confession - I liked the Resident Evil movies. I blame Milla) -

Damn ... I didn't realize this coaster thing was so difficult ... WTF!?!?! Is it a credit? Is it not a credit? How much modification does it take for it to be a new credit? If a tree falls on Psyclone would anybody notice? -

^^ I know you were kidding ... do I take anything personally ... or seriously??? ^ So Robb, you should be over 800 credits by now ... See ... thanks to me!!! I do see the points all around ... -

^ Wait. If Space Mtn won't count as a new credit then Powder Keg shouldn't count either because it uses track from a coaster that was already there. The new Space Mtn doesn't use any previously used track. I count a credit as any coaster track (non-powered, non-duplicate (Like Superman:TE, Colossus, etc)) that I have not had the priviledge to travel on previously. This counts IMO. If you aren't going to count Space Mtn then you shouldn't be counting clones either. -

^ Oh, I'm counting as a credit!!! It's a whole new coaster!!! It's not relocated, etc. Plus when you count is as low as mine, you need all of the credits you can get. -

I think it's definately interesting. I hope there are more "Surprises" than what is seen here though. I am glad they kept the space station theme for the actual station though, and that you can still look down on the loading platform. I always loved that. Here is my question though: if the queue layout is basically the same and the ride is still the same layout why did it take them 3 years. -
Worst Movies You Have Seen
Sir Clinksalot replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
I understand how folks can bash things like Team America or Napoleon Dynamite, but I have a hard time following along. Those are cases where people made exactly the movie they wanted to make, and I think that should be commended, even if the subject matter's not to your taste. When you want to talk about BAD movies, however, I think those are the ones where everything about it screamed "this is going to be great," then falls flat on its ass and sucks. I think a great example of that would be "Alien vs. Predator." They had a great concept with two great creatures from two great franchises. They have a decent sized budget. They had a few good scripts (check around online and you'll find some great AvP early drafts, mostly based off the Dark Horse comics). But somehow they took everything that was good about the alien and predator films and screwed them all up. Characters were less then cyphers (sure the Colonial Marines from Aliens were one note characters, but their one characteristic would be something you could relate to and understand). In addition to being personality free, they were incredibly idiotic (oh, except when they had to make major expositional leaps to hold the script together!). Oh, and they forgot that the movie was called ALIEN vs. PREDATOR. There was all of - what, two fight sequences between the two species? The rest was just a bad actress bonding with a predator. Awful film that managed to kill off not one but TWO major Fox franchises. Awful movies that are straight to tape just aren't offensive enough to me to warrant getting worked up. It's when they screw something good up that I get angry. -

Wonder if it is at all possible to have 2 trains going opposite directions in the tunnel at the same time. That would make for some sick dueling action. If you look at the Mt. Olympus site you can see the layout on the interactive map. It looks way cool. -

Today started out like a pretty good day: Woke up at 7am Took kids to school at 7:50 Chatted with Robb for a few minutes Watched 24 and most of Gilmore Girls off of the DVR Went to Costco Came back, finished watching Gilmore Girls and then Amazing Race Got ready for work Went to work at 3:30 Now here is where the Fit hit the Shan ... Work started out okay ... then I get a Voice Mail from one of the Supervisors I deal with regarding somebody who I am training in my class ... Basically this person told her supervisor that they aren't learning anything in class, and that nobody else is either. That they want to go to a Day Shift class because of it. Well, of course the Supervisor knows she is full of Crap. I have known this Sup for more than 5 years and I have a good relationship with him. He comes and talks to me about it and I'm all WTF? I speak with my other "Learners" and they are all "WTF". Basically what it comes down to is this person wants to go to day shift anyway. And is basically trying to use me as a scapegoat so she can go to Day Shift. I'm like, "Hey, if you want to go to day shift you shouldn't have taken a swing shift job". Of course I can't say this, and I can't mention to this person that I think she's full of it. There are 2 things you don't mess with. My livelyhood and my family. And this person "Claims" to be a Christian ... This is the first time (I know it's not the last) that I have had someone like this in one of my classes. Basically I spoke with my Boss about it because I want it well documented. I try to be so cool in class, hour lunches, we play games and trivia, I bring snacks and candy, etc. This just makes me want to say Screw it and be a dick about it ...
