  1. Sorry for the double post. but Wow. Just a Vekoma hyper or Intamin Hyper for 2018 then. Vekoma one is here. While flaffstar has posted the Intamin below. [fbvideonew]https://www.facebook.com/EnergyLandia/videos/870147566420670/[/fbvideonew]
  2. All in all thats 17 new things for 2017. Although some fall under the definition of attraction but theres certainly a decent list. Lots of small kids rides but a decent new addition with the Intamin Water coaster too. Those things have really taken off these last couple of years. Poorly translated version below. 1. Speed Water Coaster, - the largest water the fastest roller coaster in the world-our pride of 2017, as well as a new challenge for producer - swiss intamin. 2. Roller Coaster Boomerang firmy Vekoma, 3. Spill Water Anaconda - Swiss production company, intamin 4. The River Wild Jungle adventure - attraction that we create together also the Swiss company, intamin 5. New, powerful and spectacular f1 area in the neighborhood roller coaster f1, 6. Swiss village - beautiful place of rest, relaxation and fun 7. Viking Village in the neighborhood roller coastra dragon - with numerous attractions, min. Thematic Spływem in the land of the Vikings, 8. Arranging New entry to energylandia - fabulous castle 9. Pearl Wheel 10. Drift Race, 11. Mini Carousel, 12. Dragon Coaster, 13. Flying Bus 14. Mini Aiport 15. Air Show, 16. Funny Cars, 17. Monorail Griffin
  3. Turns out they went for a midnight announcement. This is from their official youtube.
  4. Sometimes the world just isn't fair. Having been clobbered by Meranti last week a second Typhoon is about to hit the area before the cleanup from the first is complete. Typhoon Megi is less powerful than Meganti (Cat 4 instead of 5) but I can't imagine the city and park are in much of a state to cope with what's coming. https://weather.com/storms/typhoon/news/typhoon-megi-forecast-taiwan-china
  5. Construction update from the park. The Mega-Lite still hasn't gone vertical but we have some new track on site for another coaster. And for once I have no idea what it is. The unpainted track screams Chinese built. and if i had to stick a limb out I'd say it will be a custom Motorbike coaster. Looking forwards to seeing how this ends up though.
  6. New for 2017 Happy Valley in Chengdu is expanding with a new Silk Road area of the park. The huge expansion will add two new coasters to the parks lineup. A B&M mini dive machine and a mini coaster. This expansion was announced a while back but there's been little sign of anything beyond land clearing so far. Now the construction fences have gone up and they include new renderings of how the new area will look. Early concept art from last year Shiny new art showing off the layout of the B&M and the GCI in the background. The Dive Machine is an interesting addition seemingly combine the layout style of the larger dive machines but with the track and trains of the mini dive machines. Both rides will certainly compliment the parks already decent line up (Mega Lite anyone?)and the themeing looks pretty good too. Just to note the wild mouse in the images is already at the park, it's just receiving a retheme.
  7. I suspect this is for the Fantawild Wuhu looper. The track seems to match that seen on Formula One at Energylandia which the Wuhu one closely resembles
  8. Pictures look great. Theyve certainly got for some interesting transitions and elements. Not that it makes a whole lot of difference, I believe that is a double down rather than a double up. Either way looks like it should provide a good pop of airtime.
  9. But China... The ride he's talking about is European made, manufactured and built and I'm impressed that all 3 coasters seem undamaged. And while some Chinese construction work may be a bit shoddy its often completely over blown, Any city in any country would have been damaged by this storm. At its peak it had wind speeds higher than Katrina. In a separate note I got a response to these pictures on Facebook from Martin & Vleminckx
  10. Another set of pictures showing the damage It's quite a bit more extensive than I imagined. While the Vekoma Boomerang and Martin & Vleminckx Wooden Coaster look in decent condition some of the theater buildings have partially collapsed. The original park has set a date of the 30th of September to partially reopen but not all attractions will be open and you can see why. Work continues with the extensive clean up not just in the park but in the city as a whole. It's worth noting the wooden coaster hasn't even opened yet and is due to open with the second park next month. You have to imagine this will put back the opening date a bit.
  11. Thanks a lot. I was looking Swedish but just couldn't find it. Cheers for the help Interesting theyd give news about both at the same time.
  12. Do you have a link to that press release? it doesn't appear to be on their press release section?
  13. Theres a website setup for this type of coaster which has been called the Spike. The system is being marketed for a few other uses such as people movement. Its a really interesting read. http://www.spike.de/en/ Theres also a dueling version of the Skyline Park ride Love the little test layout they set up at the University of Stuttgart as well.
  14. Is that still track from the vertical lift prototype they trialed a year or two ago? I thought that was all sat in a field in China. Interesting if it is.
  15. Here's an onride POV as it appears the ride has taken some riders despite the park being nowhere near finished.
  16. This week Typhoon Meranti clipped the southern edge of Taiwan bringing winds over 180mph, But yesterday the weakening super typhoon barreled into the Chinese mainland striking the city of Xiamen. The storm which has killed at least 10 has been classed as strongest in the world this year and the worst to hit Fujian province since records began. Winds of 105mph battered the coast and Fantawild in Xiamen has released a set of pictures showing the damage caused to their Dreamworld park. The park has been closed as the clear up begins but looking at these pictures it could be some time. No word on the state of the rides especially their brand new and unopened M&V wooden coaster. More on the storm here
  17. Fuji Q have announced Dodonpa is to close on October the 2nd for an extended period of time. The ride will be reborn next summer. Quite what this means is anyone's guess but a layout change or extension isnt beyond the realms of possibility. Or we could just be looking at an extended refurb. http://www.fujiq.jp/special/oyasumi-dodonpa/
  18. It seems ACE did a tour of the S&S factory and saw parts of the trains for this ride. Got to say they've gone with some pretty bright colours More Here
  19. This park has been put in operation for over a year already. There are about 19 rides are opening include Iron horse and Hang ten (from HRP) and some brand new rides like Maxi Dance Party 360 (Visa SBF), 47 meters freefall tower (Visa SBF). The SLC will be completed in December this year and will release in January, 2017. Source Correct although it doesn't contradict the quote. Phase 1 has been open for over a year. This includes the Vekoma roller skater and Mine trains from HRP. They still haven't opened the two Premier coasters are still not open and won't open until Phase 2 opens. Theres a list of the currently open rides on the parks official site. http://www.asia-park.vn/category/cong-vien-vui-choi-giai-tri.html?page=1
  20. It's never nice to report on a ride accident, Especially a fatal one. It seems last month the old Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet from Cedar Point was involved in a fatal accident at its current location at Chelyuskintsev Park in Belarus. From the article linked below (In Russian) it sounds like the 57 year old ride operator entered the ride zone to retrieve headphones dropped on a previous cycle and was struck by a passing train. While a ride related death is always a tragedy and my heart goes out to the family you have to feel if anyone knows better than to entered the ride area while the ride was running it should be the operator. Checkout the article for more pictures. https://people.onliner.by/2016/08/22/park-5
  21. The park still hasnt opened those last two HRP coasters but seem to be waiting for the completion of another coaster before opening phase 2. Some brand new Vekoma SLC track has just shown up on site. Source
  22. One of the construction companies in China released plans for a Vekoma looping coaster at Fantawild Wuhu. The coaster is a modified lift-hill variant of Formula One at Energylandia in Poland and features an extended ending with twin tunnels split by a heavily banked hill. Fantawild has three parks in Wuhu and its currently unclear which one will get this coaster. However Oriental Heritage is the most recent and still has a fair amount of space available to fill
  23. Currently i don't know. The first park in Haiyan seems to currently be just called Six Flags China ( https://content.sixflags.com/haiyan/ ) so who knows?
  24. Another video of testing on the new Jungle Trailblazer at Xiamen's Fantawild Oriental Heritage Park A custom design this one features no inversions but a fairly twisted disorientating layout. [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew]
