It looks like land clearance for the site of the park is moving forwards now. We could see this park start to go up next year.

The new worlds tallest non inverted loop (It's 55m Beating out Flying Aces by 3m I believe) is going up at Wanda in Hefei on their Intamin launched coaster. Source Unlike Flying Aces this ride will be launched into the loop. -

And now they have vests rather than head banger OTSR they are much better rides. I actually really enjoyed Arkham Asylum. They've certainly improved recently. -

Interesting news today as the Chinese company Fantawild known for their multitude of parks in China have signed deals to build parks in both Ukraine and South Africa. The news is on a few Chinese sites but can be seen in English here http://www.china.org.cn/business/2012-05/22/content_25441591.htm This follows on from the opening of their new park in Iran which can be seen here. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=71273 The Ukranian park appears to be planned for a site near the port of Krym in the Crimea at least according to this article on the Official Fantawild site. http://www.fantawild.com/en/WHAT_WE_DO.htm Here's the planned layout for Fantawild Ukraine taken from the above article. The problem is the original article is a couple of years old. And although there are still references around to the Ukraine park you have to imagine last years Annexing of the Crimea has put this park on hold. The Johannesburg Fantawild Park in South Africa, which is planned to be 770,000 square meters, will cost $250 million and take three years to complete.

Seems like the new coaster will be a Mack coaster of some kind. Mack seem to be having quite a good few years. There is also this picture found here http://www.funspirit.de/neue-achterbahn-projekt-2017/ Looks pretty interesting. -
In something of an unexpected move Fantawild have built their first park outside of China. It appears the new Dreamland park is already complete in Iran. The Iranian IMNA news agency recently released a whole load of pictures taken at the park near Isfahan. The park has a whole number of Fantawild staples such as the Dino Attack 3D ride as well as a number of the smaller Chinese built coasters. (no SLC or Mine Train here I'm afraid) Take a look at the pictures below which show off a number of views from the new park. It's a pity the park follows the phase 1 format because the newer Fantawild parks are much much better and have really stepped up their ride technology. However I imagine rides like Dino Attack are still miles better than anything else currently in Iran. It will be interesting to see where Fantawild expand next. Source

In what appears to be an attempt to out do Dubai's Palm Islands, China is building the Hainan Flower Island. Most interestingly for us the Island will be home to both a new theme park and a water park. The Theme park is apparently fairy tale themed and concept art suggests at least one big coaster. Satellite images from March 2014 show the Island was under construction then and I suspect its some way further forwards now. Will this project go the same way as many of the Dubai projects have over the years? Only time will tell I guess. This link describes the project (In Chinese i'm afraid) http://news.bb.xafc.com/show-600-17053-1.html

A new coaster to add to the list this year. Discoveryland (Home to Mad Cobra) in Dalian is getting a Zamperla Thunderbolt like the one found at Coney Island. The ride appears to be the same height although ever so slightly longer (Possibly just conversion errors somewhere or a different station set up) http://rcdb.com/13618.htm This ride never seems to get great reviews but it will sit alongside their 2 headbanger coasters quite well by the sounds of it. They have a plot of cleared land to the right of Mad Cobra which would fit this quite nicely too.

Update from inside the dome with both new coasters in there coming along nicely. Here's the Intamin shuttle coaster. Quite how its going to get through that huge glass wall to get outside I have no idea. The outdoor part of the SFX coaster is done and you can see the Intamin shuttle in the background here too. Source -
I went October last year and half the rides that are closed now were open then. Although there were still a ton closed. The flying batman thing, indoor drop ride and shuttle loop were all closed but most of the other stuff was going. Oddly at CAAPA in 2013 the park announced a full upgrading. So far all they seem to have done is replace the wild mouse with a newer copy of the same ride, Update the rapids, Remove several rides and add a couple of flats. There are pictures of some of the upgrades here http://tieba.baidu.com/p/3783296595 (In Chinese so translate however you normally would) It seems this park just cant keep up with its newer shinier counterpart across town. Although it did still seemed pretty busy when I went.

Heres a couple more pictures from Nanchang of that Intamin. That 1-2-3 punch looks insane. love the look of the hill through the lift too. Theres also a couple of off ride videos from Harpy and the Water Coaster at Wanda Xishuangbanna which is now open Edit: Just realized the water coaster video has been posted above :S sorry. -

Some new drone footage here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exO6Nrkx_q0 most interesting to me is this Anyone have any idea what that footer layout could be for? Below is the footer layout for the as yet unbuilt Intamin Jet Ski. A clone of the one in Australia. -

Well if you include Kawasemi you've surely got to include the 2 mega lites in China And for me Bullet Coaster, OCT Thrust SSC1000, Sky Ripper, Fjord Dragon and Dauling Dragons are all hovering around or in my top 10 As others have said it will be nice to see how this Intamin rides. The park has a decent line up considering it only has 3 major coasters. -
Today i started tracking the movements of a Schwarzkopf Wildcat that is currently in Kazakhstan but used to be in Misnk, Belarus. During my research I came across 2 new water parks that have opened in Minsk over the last few years The first Lebyazhy Water Park is your standard although impressive indoor waterpark Theres a ton of decent looking slides and even an indoor shooting dark ride which can be seen in the video below. Plenty more pics here http://waterpark.by/en/service/waterpark The second is perhaps even more interesting It's another indoor water park called "Waterpark Freestyle" that has a number of excellent looking slides. But perhaps most interestingly has 3 ski jumps into the pool. People wear actual skis and perform jumps and flips into the pool which has a bubble system to decrease the impact from jumping into water while wearing skis, which I imagine is pretty jarring at the best of times. Theres a video of the actual ski jumping at the top of this news site http://sport.tut.by/news/freestyle-skiing/431245.html The video here is of an attractive young lady showing off the new slides with POV's of a fair few. I've been looking into a trip to Minsk for a while. Not least because it is now home to the Original Cedar Point Jet Star and I do like visiting such places for the old soviet architecture. These 2 water parks certainty add an extra attraction to go and see.
