  1. 2 posts too late there gerstlaueringvar On another note this puts the park in direct competition with Happy Valley Chongqing which has a GCI Woodie and B&M wing Coaster heading its way. Could be a good line up all of a sudden in a city thats had little of not for enthusiasts before. They also announced a park in Wuqing near Tianjin a little while ago. But that seems to have all gone quiet. http://jinduhuayuanwq.fang.com/bbs/1110735487~-1/182021183_182021183.htm
  2. We have another Six Flags now announced for Chongqing. Below is a Google translation of one of the articles that appeared today. http://news.eastday.com/eastday/13news/auto/news/china/20160721/u7ai5855938.html
  3. Correct, it's a huge indoor ski slope, There is also a shopping mall in there somewhere and I think a Cinema but the main part of the building is indeed a huge ski slope. It does make the SLC look tiny in comparison.
  4. Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko is certainly a park I'd never heard of but it's been operating since 1956 in Chorzów Poland. The park has just announced a new addition to their 3 current coasters. Lech Coaster will be a 50m Vekoma looping coaster with multiple inversions and the following stats - 50 m tall, - 915m long, - max speed 95 km/hr, - sound, water, light effects, - capacity 1000 persons/hr I did a little digging and found some pictures and info. The POV video at the end is worth watching as the layout diagram really doesnt do this justice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfXIATzGmrs Source PDF
  5. While we've known for a while that Wanda City in Harbin, China would be building a Chinese SLC the ride has finally completed construction and not without a fairly unexpected surprise. The ride is a mirror image of Soaring Dragon & Dancing Phoenix at Wanda City in Nanchang which we saw earlier in this thread, However the manufacturer has gone with a completely new track system in Harbin, doing away with the old Vekoma style system we've seen so far. This means theres a switch from inside guide wheels to outside and a generally smoother looking system. It begs the question, now these rides have their own unique layouts and track system they can't really be called knock offs anymore can they? Also below are two photos of the parks other coasters, a highly themed custom mine train design and a standard spinning wild mouse.
  6. The park has opened Tentekomai and released this press image on their Facebook https://www.facebook.com/fujiq/
  7. Some better close up images of the Mega-Lite now on site.
  8. Tobi who did the renders for Taron also did one for this and how it may look. This seems to be based off the footers and the original shot of the layout.
  9. Howdy I've been following this project for ages but since all the unrest in Kiev a few years ago the project has stalled. However good news came through recently that the Lavina Mall project in Kiev has restarted construction and with it comes the installation of a Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster. They have advertised it as the worlds first indoor suspended coaster which as far as I can tell is correct? Anyone else able to confirm otherwise? Wanda Qingdao and Warner Brothers Abu Dhabi are both building indoor suspended's but this one is certainly up first. It looks like this ride might now open before the other Vekoma indoor coaster on the other side of town at the Respublika Mall which suffered a similar project stalling during the troubles but as of yet hasn't restarted. The difference is they already had their coaster up so it's still sat in its plastic wrap.
  10. A lovely image of the long awaited Jungle Trailblazer Martin & Vleminckx wooden coaster. The ride has been built for over a year and a half but the park has been delayed The ride was the first of the MVR fantawild woodies to be completed but looks like it might be opened in the next few months. The ride is also a clone of Fjord Dragon at Happy Valley Tianjin.
  11. Got around to a big update. Moved away all the parks that have been open for ages. Wanda City Theme Park - Nanchang 7 Kingdoms Mountain Pavilion - Shaoxing Fantawild Cultural Heritage Park - Ningbo Shanghai Disneyland - Shanghai have all been added to the completed list as all opened recently. Poseidon's Kingdom - Harbin Polar Ocean World - Shanghai Fantawild Cultural Heritage Park - Nanning have been added to the list as new parks being built. Small updates have been added to parks where i could.
  12. Intamin Mega Lite track is now on site. Looks to be red track but no obvious supports yet. Looking forwards to seeing this go up. Track can be seen to the left of this image.
  13. Yet another MRV woodie is going up in China. This one at Fantawild Cultural Heritage Park in Xiamen due to open later this year. These pictures are the first I've found of the new ride and are from back in March so the ride is probably almost complete by now. Called Jungle Trailblazer (Again) the ride has another custom layout and forgoes the inversions seen on the Wuhu, Jinan and Ningbo rides. Layout of the new ride can be seen at the bottom. The park also has a Vekoma SFC going up on site.
  14. Sure it isn't this? http://rcdb.com/4294.htm No, because I rode it in 1979 or 1980, and the above coaster wasn't put there until the late 80's. The mouse I rode had very little themeing, though I think the cars might have had a mouse face on the front. I have no idea why it isn't listed on RCDB. I guess that they may not have any info on it. Any chance you are talking about this mouse? http://rcdb.com/1598.htm The rarest coaster I've ridden is this one http://rcdb.com/4490.htm And the coaster that gives me my only Country complete on Coaster count
  15. Dug up some plans and more concept art giving a closer look at the park.
  16. More from Wanda Nanchang. It appears the park has been training it's new employees recently and with almost exactly a month to go until the park opens, pictures of the coasters are starting to appear. Below are a selection of the ones so far. Focusing pretty heavily on Havoc in Heaven Palace the Intamin hyper. That drop looks astonishing.
  17. Some more recent Concept Art for the park has appeared. With an opening date set for mid 2018 The launched coaster will be a Vekoma LSM coaster similar to Formula One at Energylandia but bigger. The Junior coaster is a Vekoma too and theres also an indoor coaster but no manufacturer known yet. It can be seen in the art below though.
  18. The SFC is now almost complete with just the final helix to go. The massive cable car we saw earlier also now has equally enormous double decker cars. Source
  19. This is only a small park but when a country gets its first ever theme park it probably deserves its own topic. Thaklek Dreamworld City is a park planned for Laos right on the border with Thailand. There's very little info so far but you can see the early plans below. The park is part of Stage 2 and Stage 1 is already under construction. So it will be a little while until the park actually opens but always interesting to see a park open somewhere new. http://akanedevelopment.com/worldcity.html http://www.tholakhong.com/2015/09/thakhek-dream-world-city.html The country does currently have one coaster as far as I can tell but it travels around. Pretty much any new coaster will be an improvement too
  20. Yeah it came completely by surprise that. its called predator and is already finished. it is in the concept art though so shouldnt be that surprised.
  21. Turns out the park has a Eurofighter 320+ model installed inside the park. That one slipped under the radar a bit.
  22. In quite a strange publicity stunt professional climber Zhang Xixin climbed the Intamin hyper coaster Havoc in Heaven Palace at Wanda City Nanchang. Quite a view from up there.
  23. New video from Ankapark with a really creepy fountain I am wondering why the 2 new Intamin coasters are still half build though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QxZaMmtJSQ
  24. Love this picture. A circular non inverting loop and a massive dragon from Wanda Hefei. This is the tallest loop in the world in theory. taking the record from Flying Aces in Abu Dhabi. However the tallest inverting loop is still Flash/Lightning at Lewa World in Xi'an.
  25. Came across this this evening on Weibo. Looks like it's concept art for the new Chinese Ferrari park.
