  1. Some time in 2018 is all I've seen. I usually take any Chinese opening date with a pinch of salt but they've left it fairly open Shenzhen Ren Yi Installation one of the firms working on construction have this image for a 50m Moser tower ride they are installing at the park. It's just a little different and lord knows how the loading will work. http://www.szryinc.com/index.php?ac=article&at=read&did=102
  2. The ridiculous looking "Global 100 Theme Park" on the Chinese island of Hainan has been slipping under the radar of late but the most recent construction pictures show a massive park already well under construction. The ride line up here has been kept mostly under wraps but what Is thought to be the worlds tallest indoor freefall ride has already been installed. Roller Coasters aren't on site yet but judging by these pictures it won't be too long. Early Concept Art This will be the dutch themed area. I can only assume those structures up the front will be windmills I believe these will hold the worlds largest indoor freefall towers. They will also feature a significant multimedia section whatever that means. Possible coaster footers on the right here. Looks to me like your standard Vekoma/Golden Horse mine train setup. Surprise Surprise These next pics are slightly more recent but smaller The tower ride itself The dutch area is getting brighter. Very little has come out about this park as I said but its gone big in a big way. Will be interesting to see how the ride lineup looks.
  3. Another update as Wanda Guangzhou tease more rides. A better look at some of the duelling moments on that launched sitdown/inverted launch coaster seen on the previous page, a Dynamic Attractions SFX coaster and a (Mack?) spinning coaster. As well as a decent looking water ride. We still don't really know who's building that launched duelling coaster though. Vekoma, Intamin and Premier all seem possibilities.
  4. This is one thats been known about for ages but has only just gone vertical. The ride name translates as Thunder Chariot (although there's no English name yet and they are often different) and the ride will stand 115ft tall. Featuring a custom layout instead of the linear design seen at Coney and OWA not much else is known about the design. Concept art gives at least an idea of layout Track and supports are slowly rising behind the castle Source of pics http://www.guoshanchemi.club/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=165&extra=&page=1
  5. And so the saga continues. This is the park that just won't stay dead. Oddly the coaster still hasn't shown up at MAPS and the park is due to open next month. Severely late as well since it was due to open in 2016.
  6. Oddly twice in one day with the news here. Its pretty rare but its not unheard of. Mirabilandia in Brazil will be moving from their central city location to a new site outside of th city limits next year while Elitch Gardens famously did something similar in 1994/95.
  7. Not often you get two park relocation stories in a day but following the news of Wild Wadi's imminent relocation Suzhou Amusement Park in the city of Suzhou, China has announced it will close at the end of the year. The park will move to a new location in the west of the city while the existing park site is transformed into a beauty spot. The park is home to one of the best looking SLC's out there (although it rides like the rest) which features the rarer modified layout as well. Unfortunately the concept art makes it appear that the parks main coasters won't be making the move. A shot of the SLC in it's current location Concept Art for the new park. Concept art for the redeveloped current park location Clearing work on the new site has begun with blasting being completed this month The new site in the west of the city and can be seen here https://www.google.no/maps/@31.3259027,120.4740647,957m/data=!3m1!1e3 I'm not sure how i feel about this. The current location is gorgeous and the setting for the SLC is one of the best in the world. The park may not be amazing but I liked it when I was there. However on the other hand the new concept art does also look great too. I'm not sure why they are making the move from a central location with metro access to somewhere beyond the reach of the current metro lines. Perhaps its space or exorbitant rent? Further more it doesn't appear at least according to the concept art that either the SLC or the Shuttle Loop will be going to the new location. (although it is concept art) I imagine this is in response at least in part due to the proliferation of large parks in the area (Wanda Wuxi is less than 30mins from the new location and Disney is within easy reach) and limited options for expansion at the current site. The new park certainly looks nice but I will be sad to see the old park go even with its faults.
  8. Wild Wadi in Dubai is on the move. The whole park will be moved to a new location and double in size as part of the massive Marsa Al Arab project due to open in 2020. I've included the video and news below. The new water park model is certainly interesting and I'd say they've used a little artistic license. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-T2-GwXelW8 http://www.hoteliermiddleeast.com/30596-sheikh-mohammed-launches-dubais-new-marsa-al-arab-hotel-project/
  9. Interesting split colours for the support connectors on the still unknown blue track at the B&M plant
  10. The Harbin park with the SLC with new track design (Its got its own layout and track now, can they really be called knock off anymore?) doesn't officially open until June but it is currently soft opening. not seen any reviews yet. Here's an update from Wanda Guangzhou and their dueling launched invert/sitdown ride. Expected although not confirmed to be a Premier rides design it seems to use the same forwards, backwards, forwards launch system we have seen on rides like Soarin Dragon, Gold Rush and Star Trek as well as utilizing a over under loop track kind of like Full Throttle at SFMM but with inverted track around the sitdown. Judging by the construction on other parks before Guangzhou and Wuxi should both start going vertical very soon
  11. The green Takabisha clone track is still sitting at the Gerstlauer yard but there is now both some shiny new yellow and purple track there too. There aren't any announced Gerstlauer rides these could be for at the moment so speculate away I guess Source: https://www.coasterfriends.de/forum/coasterfriends-insider-1/newscenter-park-und-coaster-news-park-talk-5/11862-achterbahnteile-auf-dem-betriebshof-von-gerstlauer.html
  12. Some great 4k images of the park. The themeing looks really good if a bit random at times. Source
  13. More pics here https://www.parkz.com.au/update/2017/05/09/494-Airtime_installed_on_Movie_Worlds_hypercoaster.html
  14. Just came across this on a Chinese website and thought it was certainly worth a share Something truely rare here. A brochure from 1984 and Meisho showing off their installations in North Korea at Mangyongdae Funfair. There's some nice shots of the 3 coasters (all of which still operate today) and even a shot of some 80s westerners enjoying the park. Click the source link at the bottom of the post for a whole load more pictures. Click here for more (Page is in Chinese)
  15. Happy Valley Beijing has announced a new expansion including two new B&M's. First up is a clone of the Junior inverted coaster at Happy Valley Shanghai Followed by a new B&M Hyper Coaster. Looks like a number of new flat rides and attractions too. Not much so far beyond some construction boards but this should be one to watch.
  16. So it turns out the weird launch coaster is some kind of strange Test Track knock off. I cant really get my head round how they think this works but its interesting
  17. We have testing of the B&M and this Dinosaur seems pretty happy about it. Source
  18. Just a small news item but the first new coaster that the very popular Chimelong Paradise in China has got in years will be a Premier Sky rocket Construction boards have gone up. While it explains where the track recently shown on premier rides Facebook page is off to as well.
  19. Fantawild Oriental Heritage park in Xiamen is now open. The woodie is customers designed from gravity group and Martin & Vleminckx and looks excellent.
  20. Exciting news as the firestorm arrives on site in Thu Thiem Vietnam. Along with a mine train and SFC from Vekoma too.
  21. A proper look at that final inversion and they are installing the electrics now. Get the feeling they've photoshopped a nice sky in again here too
  22. Well, you know what they say... It's not the size of the woodie that matters, it's how good the ride is. And this ride looks awesome!! I'm loving both the new GCI's in China this year. Between those two and Mystic GCI are on for a great year. I'm really interested to see how these compare to the recent Gravity Group rides in China as they've been knocking it out of the park recently. Some of the Jungle Trailblazers are exceptional coasters.
  23. It may not be the tallest or longest woodie out there but it sure is a pretty little ride.
  24. An update from the indoor Wanda park in Nanning as the coaster gets a paint job with yellow track and red supports.
