  1. Tons of new photos from throughout construction can be found here taken by Roller Coaster Dream. https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5305874017 Here's some of the highlights
  2. A nice little update showing some pretty good progress. Most of this ride will be covered in rock work themeing as well.
  3. The ride is now complete. https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=MjM5NDUzNTU0NA==&mid=2650169630&idx=1&sn=993e2cc4305378128966c9fc0c2a8fd0&chksm=be84800989f3091fb6a03dd38996ef902a4618b907862c6f4617748b421dec2880e2aa68cb30&mpshare=1&scene=23&srcid=0904UYImiTzvV7xMEEry6VSG#rd
  4. Anyone remember the weird ass Wiegand Slide Wheel announced at IAAPA last year? Well it turns out Chimelong water park in Guangzhou China just announced one for 2018. If you missed it at IAAPA this thing works weirdly. You get in a tube in the middle and the wheel slowly rotates changing the direction of down all the time so you keep sliding round and round. I cannot wait to see how this works in real life. Especially how it lines up with the pool at the end?
  5. Another view of the Sun Tzu Cultural Park S&S launched coaster. Looks like the top hat is almost complete.
  6. The mack is already on site as well. Although this is the only picture so far
  7. Happy Valley Shenzhen in China has announced the addition of a new themed area. The new area will feature a Mack Power Splash a Larson Loop and a new rapids ride as well as a re-theme of the existing Vekoma Mine Train Good to see another one of these go in. Pulsar was surprisingly excellent. http://www.guoshanchemi.club/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=217&extra=page%3D1
  8. If the stats are correct this will take the worlds tallest inversion record from Flash as well. But thats a big IF with Chinese rides.
  9. Shots of the new B&M Wing Coaster going up at Wanda Wuxi. That is one seriously long brake run.
  10. Looks like they've jazzed up the ride a bit since I was there in 2004. Had none of the neon light and tunnel stuff back then. Went to Leoland on the same day which is at another mall just down the road but missed the coaster by a few months. But that place does have a nice little water park on the roof.
  11. With the next round of Fantawilds now on their way this seems like a good time to post a summary with what we know. While the locations of the parks are all pretty well nailed down there is a bit of educated guessing with one or two of the ride lineups in the later parks. (E.g the Woodie at Handan isnt confirmed to be MVR built but they've never used anyone else) Fantawild Nanning - 2017 The most fully complete of the currently under construction Fantawild parks. Nanning already has a Vekoma Boomerang and a MVR wooden coaster constructed. Odd thing about this park is it has a highway running right through the middle cutting the park in half. A walkway beneath the road provides access between the two sections. The wooden coaster is a clone of the one already operating in Zhengzhou. Fantawild Silk Road Culture Park - Jiayuguan - 2017 The 2nd park in the northern city of Jiayuguan. Famous for being the western end of the Great Wall of China and part of the ancient silk road. This park looks to modify the standard Cultural Heritage park a bit for a more local theme. The roller coaster line up leaves a little to be desired however with a Vekoma Boomerang and the first example of Fantawild building a Beijing Shibaolai SLC. Fantawild Anyang - 2018 The first park in this City it is one of two currently under construction very near each other. The one in Handan is just up the road (see below) on the other side of the city. Again a less inspiring line up with a Beijing Shibaolai SLC and Vekoma 335m Roller Skater currently on site. Fantawild Changsha - 2018 A brand new resort in Changsha. Not very far from the existing resort in Zhuzhou. There will be three parks here with the first one seemingly taking on a new style for Fantawild with Science and Technology themeing. This is expected to be the first park to open with the new Vekoma Hyper Space Warp model. Fantawild Oriental Jeritage - Jingzhou - 2018 A recent development and a park that looks like it will open with a custom designed MVR wooden roller coaster and a Vekoma Hyper Space Warp as well. Already well under construction I wouldn't be surprised to see rides popping up soon. Fantawild Handan - 2019 Just up the road from Anyang this park seems to be running a fair bit behind. Another Fantawild park expected to pick up an MVR wooden coaster with a layout identical to the ones found in Jinan and Ningbo along with a Vekoma suspended junior coaster. Fantawild Taiyuan - 2019 Little known about this park other than its happening. Ground has been broken already but not much else has shown up yet. Fantawild Oriental Heritage - Mianyang - 2019 One of the most recent announcements the park is expected to open with a Vekoma Boomerang and a Vekoma Hyper Space Warp looping coaster. The art below shows the coasters pretty well. The Fantawild train doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.
  12. GCI just put up a video for Jungle Dragon [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew] Holy Moly. This thing flies round
  13. OK its not a roller coaster or a theme park but In the Taihang Mountains China has opened something quite unique. This is essentially a glass bottomed water slide through the gorgeous mountain scenery. Stretching almost 1.3km down the mountain side with over a 100m in total height difference it certainly looks like great fun. Now why is it glass bottomed? no idea.... Because China? http://www.he.xinhuanet.com/photo/2017-08/22/c_1121522816_3.htm There's also a very short video of one of the rafts as it nears the bottom of the run. None one of the more scenic sections admittedly but I imagine one of the few easy places to get a photo. http://weibo.com/tv/v/FhGVo4Re8?fid=1034:d4d233e7b1fdc8b3dba0c53503b3a44b
  14. Heres an interesting one. This track photo is in a recent Intamin Brochure. https://www.intaminworldwide.com/download/321/ The question is if it is an old picture of track from Coaster Through The Clouds? https://rcdb.com/9863.htm#p=73568 Or if its for something new.
  15. Another great shop of the drop The Immelmann looks like it will tower over one of the entrances to the new Silk Road area.
  16. The park looks almost done. Seems it may well open way earlier than the 2019 I expected (perhaps this is the overall resort complex) http://news.joins.com/article/21826060 http://www.jejusori.net/?mod=news&act=articleView&idxno=193857
  17. With all the big announcements today this is pretty small fry but I agree this colour scheme is stunning.
  18. So the Woodie has been open a couple of weeks And the B&M has been topped out. Source
  19. It certainly looks the park. Hopefully its 3 years or so lying around hasn't hurt it.
  20. This parks been known about for ages and has already but has only just gone vertical. World Fairytale Land is part of the giant (and i mean giant) Ocean Flower Island project on the Island of Hainan in China. The whole project is a giant Dubai Palms style development in the shape of a lotus flower. Construction on the project over all is well underway as these (now fairly old) pics show. The park itself looks pretty extensive in the concept art And we have some close up if some what fanciful artwork as well. The highlight of the park will undoubtedly be the Vekoma Firestorm This ride is one of two known installations of the Firestorm model. the second one is going to Vietnam at Vinpearl Thu Thiem. However this is the first one we have actual construction pictures of as they put up their first supports this week. And then the Top hat has gone up (note the green is just protective wrapping) Followed by the first inversion The ride has some pretty intense if inaccurate concept art. Currently the only other confirmed coaster for the park is China's first S&S Free Spin coaster like Arashi and the recent Joker rides at Six Flags. I expect there to actually be fairly decent coverage of this park as the whole project seems to be getting quite a bit of attention but the park is currently due to open in 2020 so it will be quite some time until it sees its first guests.
  21. Just as a note this is just educated guess work and may be complete and under bovine faeces A little bit of investigation suggests the pink track at the B&M plant is for the Junior inverted coaster at Happy Valley Beijing. The track does look a little smaller than the red track but mainly it has 5 holes per side as seen here. Where as most have 6 The Shanghai junior inverted also has 5 per side The others tend to have 6 (Larger DM track excluded) Hyper Track Wing Track Floorless Track
  22. Another update as the trains are put on the track. And a few shots of different parts of the track.
  23. Its been years coming. Sometimes I wondered if it would ever happen but the 4th Chinese S&S launched coaster is finally going up at Sun Tzu Culture Park. Considering how highly i rate the other 3 this is one of the projects of 2017 for me. Only one small screen cap from a video so far but hopefully more soon. http://p.weibo.com/show/channerWbH5/1034:2fc45f73f3a2931f4c9247bd417b5cd3 A couple of reminders for this project as it has been getting on for 5 years i think since it was announced. Layout Track on site
