  1. On the subject of the Shockwave. its popped up a few times if you look carefully These are 2 other concept arts for planned parks. Tema World - Istanbul Amikoo - Mexico
  2. Another new park although not until 2020 this one. However work is underway already The park is mostly indoors and called Dragon Valley Here is some concept art. That coaster at the top may look familer to anyone who watched the recent Vekoma video from their factory. (Bottom right) This is because the ride will be a new Vekoma Shockwave launched coaster. A great looking design from them and one of the new gen launched coasters. Heres some shots about the shockwave for Dragon Valley https://m.weibo.cn/status/4197562090984448 The parks hotels have been under construction for a while. Here is a shot from March last year. I would assume the main structure for the park is too but as of yet I havent seen any pictures. Cannot wait for that Shockwave coaster though. I've seen the layout pop up a few times elsewhere and it looks incredible. Just 2 and a bit years to wait for this one.
  3. The Sons Of Anarchy racing coaster is starting to look quite strange. It appears the track will have a fake road surface over the top of the track. Similar to the Chinese built thing at Visionland or in a way Test Track.
  4. Great shots. I quite like the new colours. Especially now Odyssey is yellow as well. Reminds me of the now defunct Nanhu Amusement Park Arrow/Vekoma looping coaster from way back when.
  5. Evening all Parque Del Cafe in Colombia home of the relocated Zambezi Zinger from Worlds Of Fun and the Gerstlauer Iron Shark clone Kraker has started to install a new Gerstlauer family coaster. The ride is similar to other recent Gerst family designs with a launch and a lift hill (although no backwards section) just on a smaller scale. Along with some good lanscaping going on the colours really pop out. The park has gone with the quite odd name of YIPPE for the ride. I assume pronounced like YIPPIE! http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=260651&page=20
  6. About time this interesting looking park had its own thread. Polar Ocean World is a new park just to the east of Shanghai that is due to open either late this year or early next year. With some pretty heavy themeing and a marine park design although almost nothing is known about ride details at all. Here is some early concept art. Construction has been on going for a while now and the park is getting pretty advanced. But most excitingly in the last month or so an Intamin LSM coaster has started going up on site. A ride that for once almost nothing is known about. Always love seeing a new ride go up without knowing its layout in advance. Although as this is China I half expect the next pictures to appear to be of the complete ride. Source of pics Shanghai is already a great city to visit for any Enthusiast but an Intamin launched coaster is a nice cherry on the Disney cake with Mega-Lite icing. More on this interesting looking ride when it appears.
  7. Well its gone vertical. Can't wait to see this go up. https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/4aBR7AlnzjtZPQLueXVxrA
  8. As for the B&M at Wanda Wuxi. Its now finished and it sure ain't small.
  9. Some new shots of the new S&S launched coaster at Sun Tzu Cultural Park. The ride is now complete but not open yet. http://www.xcar.com.cn/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=30872858
  10. Been pondering about opening an individual thread for this park or just sticking to the China thread but this looks like a really nice park with a good lineup and not from one of the big 4 out there. (Fantawild, Chimelong, Wanda and OCT/Happy Valley) The park in south of Kunming in Yunnan province, China and situated next to a huge lake. In a really pretty location. The park is building a B&M Wing Coaster, Mack Blue Fire Clone, Mack Water Coaster and Golden Horse Mine Train. Here is the concept art for the park before the construction shots. And now for some construction shots. B&M Wing. Mack Blue Fire Golden Horse Mine Train In the back there is the Mack Water Coaster Flat Rides. Source for most construction shots
  11. A short POV of the first drop and inversion can be seen here. https://m.weibo.cn/status/4185682102917458
  12. Check out the new Vekoma Hyper Space Warp testing at Fantawild in Changsha. Annoyingly whoever recorded the video decided to speed it up when uploading but the ride looks great. https://v.qq.com/x/page/y05155f9oto.html
  13. Here is a more complete video showing the whole ride. The water splash and holding brake are still off. https://weibo.com/tv/v/FA58LzR0T
  14. A quick flick through the parks instagram tag and you can see the completed lift and drop in the background of these two shots. https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/%EA%B2%BD%EC%A3%BC%EC%9B%94%EB%93%9C/
  15. Agree almost 100% The design is what makes a Dive Machine a Dive machine really. The short length and poor aerodynamics of the wide train also limit the length and manuvers to a certain extent. On a side not I'm being a massive pedant here since its not finished yet but Draken in South Korea is expected to be a Griffon clone.
  16. So with the aquisition of Fox by Disney this week this is technically now a Disney park. (although obviously not really) A strange side effect of that massive deal. I'm assuming it won't actually have any tangible affect on the park itself but its interesting to note Disney probably now own it (or at least the licences anyway, depending how the deal for the original licenses/ownership is structured).
  17. Sea Viper is now pretty much complete. It does appear to be a Preston & Barbieri Anaconda 2 model. Which they seem to also share with Fabbri as seen in the link posted by bgtlover There are as far as I know only 3 existing versions of this in Pakistan, Tajikistan and Romania so well of the beaten paths for most enthusiasts. Looks like a solid layout in a compact footprint. Here's a nice video of the ride in Romania.
  18. The B&M dive coaster First some shots of the finished B&M dive coaster Western Regions Heaven. Although not the greatest video in the world the official Weibo site for Happy Valley has confirmed the ride is now testing. https://weibo.com/tv/v/Fzk8YDv1Q
  19. A couple of big updates. The MVR Wooden coaster at Fantawild in Nanning is now testing. And so is the Vekoma Hyper Space Warp coaster at Fantawild in Changsha
  20. Roller Coaster Dream has published a load of shots of the now complete B&M Junior Inverted Coaster Those are some bright colours.
  21. Vertical construction of what appears to be a new Intamin LSM coaster for Shanghai Polar Ocean Park. A new Intamin LSM is always welcome
  22. It appears this Motorbike coaster will in fact be a set of racing Maurer Spike Coasters. Not entirely enthused by that I must admit. https://rcdb.com/15717.htm
  23. After 38 years of operation Thunder Coaster a Meisho corkscrew coaster at Nasu Highlands in Japan has closed this week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmpOAAUAjn8 While it's not a massive coaster closure it is sad in a way to see it go. The ride was made famous here by Robbs excellent roller coaster in the snow POV It seems the park is looking at turning the track into some kind of walkway over the park perhaps with a ropes course integrated although the google translation of the page linked below is a bit iffy.. However if for whatever reason you miss the coaster or perhaps just want a coaster car in your living room you can pick up a standard coaster car for a cool $1350 + shipping or a front car for an even cooler $2700 + shipping here. https://camp-fire.jp/projects/view/50964
  24. This park is finally coming along quite nicely and the coasters are going in. Good video of progress here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaHcOyRPBWI The Ice Age coaster looks huge. The racing Sons Of Anarchy coasters are also going in. And this weird suspended single rail thing which seems half coaster half transport ride so far
  25. Just combining a few images to give an idea whats going on with some of the near misses. The track colours appear to be reversed on the larger image compared to the smaller ones though
