M&D Scotland's Tsunami derails
Johnlloyd replied to UKCoasterFan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yesterday, M&Ds Scotland's Theme Park reported that they will indeed reopen the Tsunami after the police investigations have concluded and the victims’ conditions have been released. For a full report, click here. If this coaster does reopen, I hope that the train is thoroughly inspected and properly fixed, as well as that bent support as an incident like that could easily reoccur again. -

No, I haven't heard of any yet anywhere. You would think there would be one considering the installation of Skyhawk and the park's 35th anniversary. -

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Johnlloyd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This was my second time visiting Kings Island and my first time riding Firehawk. I found it to be a truly amazing flying coaster, that I rode it about five times that day. Now, if I were to say that I rode Time Warp at my home park, Canada's Wonderland, then I'd need your respects. I totally agree that Firehawk is severely underrated. I like it better than Superman. That opinion may not be popular, but that's cool. With such crap capacity, we need that line to be shorter! Luckily when I had visited the park last Wednesday and Thursday, all the rides were either walk-on's or had very short lines. So, waiting was not an issue. I feel that this is one of Vekoma's very few great coasters. The only other Vekoma coaster that I've greatly enjoyed is their Invertigo coaster which I found to be quite smooth when I've rode them at Kings Island and Dorney Park over the past couple of years. I do enjoy The Bat at my home park, Canada's Wonderland as well but, I found Firehawk and Invertigo (and Stinger) to be better. -

Coasters at Sunset

Here's a photo I had captured while visiting Kings Island for the second time three days ago. It was storming like crazy for an hour and a half just after we arrived. Luckily it had ended just as the sun was starting to set. -

Splashworks has been open on weekends since May 28th and just began daily operations yesterday. I found last year to be one of the best seasons for Splashworks in ages because of the addition of Typhoon and Splash Station. Typhoon isn't an intense water slide but is really fun, especially the single tube side. So, if you haven't been to Splashworks in years, I would suggest that you go and take a visit as it's a small yet fun water park. -

There are many rides where I don't hang on as I tend to just enjoy that out of control feeling. But, that out of control feeling would be too much on Time Warp! -
Tallest coaster you've been on.
Johnlloyd replied to andre8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The tallest steel coaster I've been on is Leviathan at Canada's Wonderland. It's 306 feet tall! The tallest wooden coaster I've been on is The Mighty Canadian Minebuster at Canada's Wonderland which stands 90 feet tall! -

I will have to admit that I had experienced the smoothest ride I had ever experienced of all the times I've been on Time Warp. I think that they may have either replaced the padding on the cars or replaced the wheels on the cars. Whatever they did to Time Warp, it made it give a smoother ride without head banging, knee knocking, or anything else it has done in the past. Has anyone else been on Time Warp this year and noticed this? A question for the regulars at Time Warp: Do you guys actually use the step and the grab handles? Yes, I actually use the steps and the grab handles as that's the proper and safest way to ride Time Warp. How else are you suppose to ride? -

Well, think about Flight Deck, Shockwave, Sledgehammer, and most other rides that use headrests and over the shoulder restraints? Do you honestly think those are any better? I believe the padding on Time Warp is new this year as it seemed softer and not worn compared to previous years. If such an issue occurred on any ride, I'm sure they would close it down until the problem is resolved as it's a health and safety concern. -

I don't think this has ever been an issue with any rides or coasters at the park. They sanitize the restraints and padding quite a few times throughout the season. I can guarantee you that if you're concerned about head lice then you probably wouldn't or shouldn't be going to an amusement park! -

I go to Canada's Wonderland about every two weeks from the day Season Pass Sneak Preview Night occurs until nearly the end of the season in October. -
Oh, yeah? Well, I bought a fan from Home Depot today and now I want to shred a picture of Flight Deck from Canada's Wonderland with it! Maybe you should buy a paper shredder and shred all photos of all Vekoma SLCs.
