Photo TR: A Wicked Fahkin Weekend

Subscribing for future juice. Good intro so far! -
Thanks, Bill. With temps expected in the 90's during the midday on Thursday, I'm thinking Outer Hanks might be the best bet for lunch and Country Kitchen for dinner. Appreciate the assist! Really looking forward to bringing the wife and kids down here (and to BGW the following day). It's the first time at these parks for all of them, so here's hoping they have a great time!

That moment when the 7-year-old has more common sense than the 14-year-old. Even my wife (who is terrified of heights and of any ride that goes more than a couple feet off the ground) heard about the story and saw the video, and came to the same conclusion as everyone else; not an unsafe ride, just a stupid teenager doing stupid stuff.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

^ Seconded. Damn fine burgers, and waffle fries were a nice touch too. But it is a decent ways away from the park, so it's more of a better end-of-the-night option IMO rather than duck-out-for-a-few-minutes. -

When I went opening day, they had a grouper at the top of the steps, but they were usually pretty flexible if you had a request for which row to sit in. I don't remember them ever saying "no, you can't ride in the front/back row" to anyone at all. Just ask nicely and I'm sure they'll accommodate. -

^^ I'm literally salivating at the thought of what HP could do with an extra 38 acres to work with. This is already one of the best parks around, and a major expansion like that could only make things better. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
coneyislandchris replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The last one I rode was Dragon Coaster at Rye Playland. Wanted to love it since it's an old wooden classic, but they literally stapled my balls, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -

As of Sunday: Was really hoping it would have been open, but oh well. Gives us more of an excuse to go back in the future. That, and we didn't have enough time to do the sky ride or log flume. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coneyislandchris replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
how is it misleading to be telling our honest opinion of it? I rode MaxAir once. I rode Skyhawk once. I rode Cedar Downs minimum 8 times. not hard to tell which one I liked best. Yeah, nothing misleading at all. Different strokes and all that jazz. Everybody's got their own personal favorites and there's nothing wrong with that. Some people love swinging super high and parallel to the ground. Some people love being nearly thrown off of a horse with no seatbelts. And yet other people have an unnaturally unhealthy obsession with sitting in a metal box that slowly takes them from one side of the park to the other. -
Used to work down the block from that UniQlo, we recently moved offices so now I'm closer to Eataly. Didn't realize those Nintendo shirts were available yet... I may have to make a stop by there one of these days very soon. Plus, the Animal Crossing stuffies? I know the kiddo is gonna want one of EVERY one. (We just finished collecting the Amiibos for AC, too!) Sounds and looks like you had a blast, Robb!

Well, that's your call. The littlest one, who's now 28 months, has been on three kiddie coasters and a larger number of flat rides once she started walking, and aside from one ill-fated Scrambler run at Knoebels last year, has loved just about everything she's been on. Her second trip to Hershey was much more well received than the initial one, and she'll be coming back later this year, since we're spending two days at the park for my son's sixth birthday. As far as HE goes, he's a beansprout who was 42" at three and hit 48" tall before he turned five, and so we've been making a habit of roadtripping it all over the place to different parks, since he ADORES rollercoasters and rides. In fact, many of his earliest rides were there at Hershey since they have low height requirements on many of their classics (Trailblazer, Comet, SooperDooperLooper, etc). He's currently got 65 different coasters under his belt and is hoping to hit 100 before he turns six. So yeah, I wouldn't invoke the nuclear option quite yet. I hope that your daughter manages to enjoy herself, get on some stuff, and it begins a long love affair with parks for her! -
