  1. I'm assuming that it's behind the inversion in the foreground, which looks like the one we already know about?
  2. Yes and no... You still have the potential to get your neck banged around, and also strain your neck (which has happened to me in the past), and smaller kids can get their heads banged. And again, if you have to do something like that to make a ride better... eh... not a good ride.
  3. I haven't been to CW since Leviathan has been there, but I've heard it's the most underwhelming of the Giga's, from those who've ridden them all. So there's that. Then, as far as Behemoth goes, I love B&M Hypers, and it's my favorite of the B&M Hypers, not too far outside of my Top 10 coasters! So, yeah, I agree that it's simply an awesome coaster, that gives a great all around ride experience!
  4. My one ride on Deja Vu when it was at Magic Mountain wasn't all that bad, actually... Maybe I just got lucky?
  5. And like I said with Mean Streak... If you have to ride it a very specific way for it to be a decent ride...
  6. It's the absolute smoothest SLC. Which means it's only moderately terrible still! In all honesty, I still don't get the love for Thunderhawk... I gave it a shot in 2015, and it still was a SLC POS. Granted, the front row wasn't too bad, and I highly recommend waiting for the front (and avoiding the temptation to get in one of the empty lines elsewhere) when you ride it. After that front row ride, my son and I went for a re-ride on it, thinking "that wasn't so bad", and DIDN'T wait for the front, but got in row 3 I think... Awful!!! So, you've been warned...
  7. Indeed. The whole teetotalling christian thing is a cultural construct, not a religious one. ^THIS! As far as the hotels, I will second the Hyatt Place as a fantastic hotel, for a relatively affordable cost! I have been very impressed the couple of times I have stayed in one! Now I just need to get one of those cards prozach has, but not abuse it like I have tended to in the past!
  8. A part of it may be that at temps where people in the North are willing to go to Water Parks (say, upper 60's), people in California may find it "too cold." I know when I went out there in February to visit my brother once, and it was "the coldest it'd been all winter", and was in the 50's, I was still at SFMM wearing shorts. While there was a blizzard back in MI. So, advantage me!
  9. Which are two of my favorite coasters, so I'm sure I'll love it! But more than Fury? To my eye, it just looks like Fury "does more", at least vertically, and isn't so much about the fast "twistiness", I-305. While I enjoy that part of Maverick, it's not my favorite part of the coaster. My personal taste on coasters is more about up and down motion, than side to side. But I guess we'll see... Maybe I'll be blown away when I eventually get to ride it!
  10. We'll take it Ditto! Seriously... I haven't ridden I305, but I'll be shocked if it dethrones Fury from my #1, based on what I've seen of it, and heard about it from others, and what I've experienced on Fury - without even getting a mythical front row ride (thanks Cedar Fair for your Communist seating policies!). But plenty of back row rides on Fury kicked everything that could be kicked on a coaster from my experience, and I305 will have its work cut out for it whenever I get back out to KD! (Hopefully next year!)
  11. As far as a modern, recent coaster goes, this one HAS to take the cake!
  12. I haven't been on a Sky Rocket II myself, but I feel like Wicked Twister is an incredibly underrated coaster! Every time I get off after riding it at CP, I'm reminded of that, and always quite enjoy it! I don't care nearly as much for Vertical Velocity at Great America, but even that's ok...
  13. Maybe if they used the exact word "cycle", but I'm pretty sure even my younger kids know a "too short" ride when they ride it! Heck, if I don't push them on the swings long enough, I'm sure to hear about it!
  14. You're all just overlooking the fact that Mean Streak was closed the first few weeks of the season last year because nobody cared because you don't appreciate pure brilliance when you see it. Ha ha! It's funny, because I actually DID think of Mean Streak, after first typing that, and before posting it, but decided it really WASN'T important enough to bother adding to it!
  15. I'm not sure you used enough exclamation points!!!!!!!!!! I know that wasn't me, but the funny thing is, I pretty much write that way most of the time myself! I chalk it up to my "excited" and not "boring" personality!
  16. I won't lie... In all my years of going to CP almost exclusively in May, I've almost never had any issues with excessive downtime of coasters, or closed coasters. Yes, there was the Wicked Twister snafu of a year ago (I think it was), and Opening Weekend is typically just NOT a great time to go. But other than that, I've found May, and early season in general to be a fantastic time to visit the park!
  17. Yes, exactly. What I don't get it how over the off-season people were chomping at the bit for Mean Streak photos that we were asked not to be posted and now that the park is open, where are the Mean Streak photos now that it's okay to post them??? I had this exact thought earlier today! It was kind of blowing my mind, too!
  18. What do they do regarding wallets on El Toro? My wallet is in my front pocket. Would they want me to take that out too? All of this is quite absurd... Nothing in my front pockets, when I'm sitting, is EVER in danger of coming out of my pockets, as it's sealed off by my position of sitting, and the seat belt/restraint.
  19. Just give up and put Wild Eagle as your favorite hyper coaster. Wishing for common sense is really a waste of time. Just roll with it Or Maverick... Maverick acts REALLY hyper, so it SHOULD be classified as one, right? RIGHT???
  20. Not including Giga's, and only including coasters with drops greater than 200 feet... 1. Phantom's Revenge - Easily the best! Only Hyper in my Top 10 overall! Severely underrated and awesome coaster! 2. Behemoth - There was just something special about this one! For the record, I am a big fan of B&M Hypers, and don't get the "hate" for them... 3. Diamondback - I actually find myself enjoying this great Hyper more every time I ride it, especially in the last row! 4. Nitro - It debuted in my Top 10 coasters years ago, and while it's dropped down the list over time, it's still a great coaster! 5. Skyrush - I've only ridden it once... Clearly, I need to ride this one again, because I think I've undersold it a bit! Still, I did really like it! Honorable mention: #6 would actually be Valravn... Hey! It's a 200 foot drop!
  21. I was at a local restaurant yesterday, and tried this beer on tap, called... Perrin's "No Rules Vietnamese Porter" WOW! Easily one of the best three beers I've ever had in my life! It was like a work of art in my mouth! The smoothness, the richness of taste up front, as well as the satisfying finish! It was amazing! Couple that with the 15% ABV, and it not tasting like that at all, and it'd be easy to get blasted on these in a hurry! Definitely scoop some up if you're at all into dark craft beer, and you see some available!
  22. Neither can I. I don't know if it's intentionally supposed to clog things up or if it's to make everyone drive in a circle, but it's annoying. Sadly, I think their intent IS to "encourage" people to drive in a circle, and to "prevent" head-on collisions. Which, IMHO, pretty much defeats a lot of the fun of bumper cars! (I mean, I don't actually TRY to hit people head-on, but still, driving in a circle is terrible...)
  23. Unless you're an indoor coaster/dark ride enthusiast, weather plays a huge part in this hobby. You can say that again! I was supposed to have been to KI with my kids and ridden Mystic Timbers two different times by now, but ended up passing both times due to weather! Still don't know what's in the dang shed! Wow your patience to not visit the KI thread or watch any "shed spoilers" is impeccable! I could spoil it for you right now but I won't Yeah, I've debated whether it's really worth not reading about the rest of the ride experience, since I don't honestly expect the "shed reveal" to be all that much of anything. However, so far, I've successfully avoided the KI thread, and all Youtube videos. I'm now targeting the day after Memorial Day for our KI trip, so hopefully I can hold out that much longer, and hopefully the dang weather cooperates! And yes, thanks for not spoiling it here now! DId you like the rest of the coaster at least? (And apologies for talking about a KI coaster in the CP thread, but hey, there's always people talking about weather, and boats, and just about everything other than CP coasters in here anyway, so why not?)
