After completion of the new element, Timberwolf will have had it's entire course retracked by GCI, right? I hope this means it will receive Millennium Flyers if so. It'd be nice if at least one coaster in Missouri got some much-needed better trains. *cough* Boss I understand that GCI requires Millennium Flyers to be on their tracks only and not run on other company's tracks. -
Thanks for posting Jedimaster! I can't believe those photos of Slinky Dog Coaster are real. They did a really good job filling in every space inside the ride perimeter. I like how arid the last picture looks - definitely not something I would expect from Orlando's terrain but it definitely looks like something straight out of Andy's sandbox!

I wonder where they got the Steel Vengeance shirt when Cedar Point isn't even open yet for the season. Which Cedar Fair parks are selling Steel Vengeance shirts? Or is someone selling fan made shirts online? Cedar Point was selling them during Halloweekends last year in some of their gift shops I believe. This is true. I asked the person where they had gotten the shirt given the Cedar Point wasn't open yet and they looked at me kind of stupid like: "Really?" He said he had gotten it last year. I obviously knew where the shirt came from but I was not under the impression they were selling them last year.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Can I just say something....? I cannot stand when people use the phrase "gravity defying" to describe coasters. Gravity is literally the reason roller coasters work. They don't defy gravity, they are powered by it. Okay, nerding complete. I can see your point, but at the same time it has never bothered me because in a way the coaster is saying "f*ck you gravity" everytime it accelerates your body in the opposite direction of gravity during ejector airtime. -
This is definitely my kind of day at the park. The only person in this photo happens to be my brother. I also happened to run into Marcus Leeshock in the first 5 mins in the park. I figured he would’ve been long gone from Branson by now or atleast doing other things in the area besides SDC but low and behold was still at the park today. What a suprise

Actually, that's pleasing to hear that waits aren't as bad as I was thinking. I'd like to give TT a couple rides if I like it. I knew that, and I figured alone with the weather forecast this week Outlaw Run would have very short lines, but the fact that many might be at Time Traveler anyway would be even better.
-
So with three hour waits for Time Traveler is it safe to assume Outlaw Run will be a walk-on??? Don't get me wrong, I expect TT will be an excellent ride that I'll want to ride again, but if I can marathon Outlaw Run all day this week I'll be in heaven. I haven't been on Outlaw Run yet, but I have hopes that it'll be the first ride since 2014 that'll be able to contest with my current #1, El Toro. El Toro is just so far above the rest that I haven't yet been able to find any ride that can even compete with it, which leaves me a bit disappointed. I've been spoiled since riding it. NTaG is my only RMC so far, and it's a very good ride, but still not quite El Toro intense. I have hopes Outlaw Run will be different. Thoughts?

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

It doesn’t look too bad to me. The first three airtime hills definately look wild already. Just relax. This rode is going to speed up. This isn’t wonder woman. -
Its clear to me how few people commenting here have been on Cobra’s Curse. The slow parts were some of the best parts; the overbanks allow for some awesome hangtime facing downwards. I myself am really excited for the overbanks on this ride as they’re massively tall (especially the one after the second launch) and they’re taken very slowly.

Huh? This is the perfect ride for a single rider line. If there are 8 seats, there are many chances the groups next to ride won't add up to exactly 8, and there may not be a small enough group close to the grouper to fill the train. Singles go in! Except that groups won't be sitting in rows together - that was my point. There will be no groups of three taking a row of four and leaving a seat. The only way I can see there being empty seats is if groups divide amoungst the rows and try to get on the same train, so that they are back to back with each other.

Dollywood Discussion Thread
RollerManic replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I doubt Dollywood would want to do anything with animals seeing as how much backlash SeaWorld has been / is receiving ... Plus as someone pointed out, their would be increased maintenance and car needed for live animals. -
It’s not the first time they’ve done that. I can’t recall specifics, but I do remember seeing this technique being used to construct several other RMCs. There have been some that were really glaringly open! Does it not fascinate anyone else how they manage to construct these rides around and inside the existing structure? I’m still baffled by how they were able to instal Steel Vengeance’s third lap.
-
I'm glad they operate Freeze as they do because that cost doesn't even account maintenance or labor. It is a big draw to the park though, even though many visitors are pass holders. That is what I suspected about the power grid. I didn't want to elaborate too far as I've never worked at the park and don't know many specifics about the grid, so I was leaving that up to someone like you TNT. I really appreciate your input! That was interesting to read. I doubt we will see any development on that strip as development over there would require installing utilities and building infrastructure, which I've once been told by Director of Rides once that it would just not be reasonable.
