  1. That’s what I thought, but why then wasn’t it torn down with the rest of the strip mall two years ago? They even gave it a new back wall to patch up where the other stores had connected to it. Prehaps the landlord is keeping the restaurant in hopes a new owner will come through and reopen it?
  2. Interesting how far back on the plot it sits. Is that Mexican restaurant still operating?
  3. Yes, my comment was referring to yours. Sorry, I called it a "Giant Discovery" (its technical name) just because for whatever reason that's what I know it by. But yeah: Giant Discovery, Giant Frisbee, same, same. Agreed. That's exactly what I was thinking. The Golden Kingdom side of the park needs kiddie flats and the Metropolis/Old Country area still has empty spaces needing filled, plus is already themed to DC. However, I would disagree about the last bit of needing tree removal. My thoughts were that a Giant Discovery would fit perfectly where the old bumper cars building is and by the looks of Google Maps, probably wouldn't need much tree clearing. There's even already a nice ~200ft clearing extending from the pathway to behind the building if they wanted to orient the ride so that it swings perpendicular to the path instead of parallel. This whole time that we've known about Cyborg I've totally forgotten Twister exists. Count me in as one who suspects it will be leaving soon. I see you caught on. But I like your idea ... and there's more than enough space according to Google and Zamperla to put one where Twister stands without even removing the queue ... I've always thought of the boardwalk as the second DC area of the park anyway, and Twister never fit.
  4. The whole Golden Kingdom over-expansion deal has always just been the biggest "WTF, Six Flags" to me. I can't believe how quickly most of the new land got closed off and how they ripped out Ka's massive old queue. Glad to see them doing something with it. I secretly hope they don't put a Giant Discovery in there, because the odds are it would be themed to DC. Shit, who am I kidding. Anything they add will be themed to DC. I just personally don't want to see DC stuff pop up around the Golden Kingdom (DC in Africa, really?) but odds are against my desires. Plus there's still a lot of space left to fill in the Old Country. I would be shocked if they kept the area as the Golden Kingdom and added apporpraitely themed rides, but one can dream. I don't know though. Maybe there is still hope considering we got Zum a couple years ago? Who knows. But I digress. The path is open between the two best rides in the park; a dream of mine that so far has come true.
  5. Negative - the bottom of the pond is unpainted. The water from what I saw in a video interview is treated and cleaned, with the pumps being the stuff to the left of the transfer shed. The lighting as is right now at night looks fantastic; especially that spotlight. No complaints here.
  6. Just now seeing the stuff about the expansion, although I do now recall mumblings before. Anyway, I think it will be really cool to see how they squeezethe new B&M in there when itwill be so near/ontop of the new enterance. Hopefully that bridge will provide unique views of the ride.
  7. Nice report. I certainly do hope that the new attractions comes with a Spanish area, as the park, is mysteriously lacking one. It think t would pretty well round out their list of European countries. I can confer that I don't dislike Tempesto's theming (actually never thought anything negative of it tbh, aside from the cheesy banners on the ride structure), but it's colors clash uneasily with Apollo's Chariot. Even after several years, that yellow-purple-orange-blue still upsets my eyes every time I see it. I'm glad you mentioned something about that drop in the back row, though. That doesn't get enough attention, and everytime I hear someone call Tempesto forceless I am tempted to ask if they even rode in the back. The extreme ejector and laterals in that drop into the non inverting loop and the immediately following sharp positive gs at the bottom of the loop are borderline wondrously painful in the back seat. Sad to hear the BFLE was disappointing. I didn't ever have much faith in it, being a VR ride, but now in the absence of Curse of Darkastle there's not much to reconcile it.
  8. I really do love our Superman. When I visit other parks, I always fell a little dissappointed by other drop towers. There’s something about Superman that gives it that extra exciting thrill (probably the elevation). The only problem I have with Superman is that every time I’ve ridden it in the last couple years, I’ve always gotten shafted with a seat facing away from the park and towards that back hill.
  9. Lmao havent been following this thread well enough then. Oh well, any other time, it seems to run just fine. I somehow knew that last little tibit would bite me.
  10. Honestly, can we just agree that this park is already fantastic and any ride that BGW could possibly add would just make it better? I don't care if the new ride is good or not (which for the reocrd, to the person who thinks the idea of a Cobra’s Curse to BGW is wack, I thought Cobra’s Curse was great and would love to see one at BGW), just so long as it doesnt replace another ride (*cough* Verbolten), can it really make the park worse?
  11. To the poster earlier and Bert, if you dont mind spinning ride Excalibur is worth at least one ride. Its an incredibly rare flat and a unique expurience, plus doesn’t suffer much downtime.
  12. I found this mildly amusing. How accurate is it?
  13. I don't know why, but I love storms, and footage of them. That's quite the interesting visit. Glad the damage was minimal and no one was hurt, but it's dramatic nonetheless. Jealous of the ride on Leviathan in the fog.
  14. No I meant Wonder Woman but I should have known better with a yellow premier spaghetti bowl coaster at the park, lol. Small oversight.
  15. I can’t say it enough that this park is absolutely batshit insane. Never have I ever wanted to go to Poland and now this park is at the top of my bucket list.
  16. Yeah, it’s more surprising not to see Fireball than to see Thunder Rapids. What’s actually suprising though is not seeing Golden Sphagetti Coaster.
  17. I have absolutely no idea what to expect from this thing. The idea this ride is being RMCed is bewildering still. I would have never seen Japan as getting an RMC anytime soon, and thisride’s structure is just so drawn out that it’s hard to imagine whatwill become of it. I didnt know they were already working on it. I suppose this time there aren't any infamous RMC trucks rolling around, only RMC workers and rented equipment.
  18. ^That’s the reason why I love these obxiously loud RMC lifts. The fact that RMC is the epitamy of a company pushing the limit of what we knew was possible and changing the scene of the industry, yet uses the absolute loudest anti-rollback system they could find, when most companies in the industry have been using a dampedned or silient anti-rollback system for years. It gives it character. Its like new meets old. Especially in that fog media day, the sound of the antirollbacks just made it even more ominous in the videos.
  19. Wow. Wonderful choice of a wide angle lens and beautiful composition. As a hobby photographer, these photos are like art to me. Nice writeup too. I thouroughly enjoyed reading it.
  20. I’m sorry. I just can’t believe this. He hasnt convinced me if anything yet.
  21. I've watched this video several times and sent it on to multiple friends, that guy is hilarious!!! I looked back at some other videos of him riding coasters and they are equally funny. I never would have seen it otherwise - thanks very much for posting! FYI - Marcus is the real deal. He’s not one of the “fakers” I was referring to. In case anyone was wondering why I made a really awkward effort effort to introduce him rather than just post his video, it's because I wanted to ensure everyone that his reactions were genuine based on his character. He's not an inexperienced rider and his stories are usually pretty objective and absent of sensationalism (a rarity these days). Which pretty much comes back to why I even follow him even though he's way outside of my coverage region. But yeah, I still cant get over what this ride did to his face.
  22. If there is any one thing that I like about this ride its how nice it looks and how nice the area around it looks. The idea that its short too will mean that it will be very rerideable.
  23. This, if you dont know, is Marcus Leshock. He's a local Chicago Reporter and a known coaster enthusiast. They send him down to all the media days in parks in the region and he’s been as far as Silver Dollar City, Kings Dominion, Dollywood, Cedar Point for Valravn, BGT etc. and always does a short for media day, even though he’s only a local reporter. I’m not even from Chicago and I follow him because I quite enjoy the coaster stuff he does and shares (and because he keeps everything pretty non-political, which is a nice relief. Nearly everything he puts out is positive.) Anyway, I can’t believe his reactions to Steel Vengenence. He’s always geeky and makes the newcasters laugh but I’ve never seen facial expressions quite like this from him before. Just look at his EYES!!! They look so messed up! And look at the way how EVERYONE gets THROWN around in the last series of bunny hops into the brake run. That just looks brutal!
  24. I’m sure RMC could have done a barrel roll drop if they really wanted to ... think a flatter lift hill crest where it begins to rotate and then follows through like the exit of a zero g roll or something like a downward spiral like Kingda Ka’s. RMC has proven they can do a lot more than expected.
  25. I voted SFGAd by accident but meant to vote for Hersheypark. Take that into account.
