  1. Wow, it is such a beautiful looking coaster too.
  2. Why are we even talking about this? This is SFA afterall. You guys won’t get a new coaster, yet alone an expansion. Even if you got something, the current park past Wild One is still practically a giant field.
  3. I imagine the mountain might have been the one of the biggest maintaince headaches of the ride, given it’s age and history.
  4. Ghostrider has a single rider line. Don’t be like me and buy a ticket at the gate only four hours before the park closes and then wait in line 2 hrs (!!!!) for Ghostrider (everything else in the park, including Xccelerator and Hangtime were only 20-30min waits btw), then only IMMEDIATLEY after getting off realize that there was a single rider line with a 5min wait the whole time. God I felt stupid. I’m from MO and my decision to visit the park was brash and impulsive, as I just happened to be passing it one night and God only knows when I’ll be in LA again (afterall, it had been 10 yrs since my previous visit). I’d never been to Knotts before, so I was very anxious to go. Overall, I had a pretty good night at Knott’s and got most everything I wanted done once plus an extra lap on Xcelerator as a nice bonus, but imagine if I had not wasted 2 hours in line for Ghostrider! Especially considering in the last hours before closing, the lines all cleared out to just about nothing for rides around the park, I would have gotten SO much more done. I missed out of Jaguar though because it broke down while I was in the station and it was the last hour before closing. FUUUUUU In the end, that’s life, but atleast Ghostrider is best wooden coaster I’ve been on bar El Toro / the RMCs, so better that I rode it than have never went to Knott’s. This park needs more single rider lines.
  5. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I would have spent a long time comparing the new layout and Google Maps if it weren't for their pretty clear website. This new entrance is really going to change the dynamic of the park entrance. I always thought the old park entrance was oddly long and a real bottleneck, but yet it always seemed very "Hersheypark" to me. Going to miss the old entrance but I'm excited equally for the new one.
  6. Haha, I could totally see them removing it after WCR, putting one of the giant Super Loops there next year, and marketing it as their [2nd] 20th coaster! You devilish little bastards Six Flags ... genius!
  7. As someone already mentioned, I think this thing is really going to be great at night! Especially now with all the trees. I honestly wasn’t expecting Universal to plant very many more trees than there are now so I’m very excited! I can’t wait to see what 1200 trees equates to.
  8. WOW, I'm shocked. This came totally out of left field. I can't fathom how they're even going to achieve this. SV was one thing - Mean streak was ~150ft tall already, and had a very large, drawn out footprint and structure that favored all the extra space those new, large elements took up (after all, it has to scale up a LOT when you add 50ft to it - think of that first hill on SV). Same goes for White Whale (?) at NSL - unreal that parks are actually doing this to these rides, but physically fathomable for me - they (especially White Cyclone) were already big rides. But now, RMC dares to add a whole 100 ft to Gwazi? Holy hell. Honestly, I was really expecting it'd be wishful thinking if BGT would even keep both sides ala and not just chop one out entirely ala Storm Chaser. Clearly, not the case. BGT is blowing sh*t out of the water. I can't believe how the mid-2010's has gone and how the early 2020's is looking. This scene for new attractions is unreal. Entire park's dynamics are changing. CGA, for example, will look completely different. RMC definitely has reinspired the coaster wars (I'm sure the economy has a lot more to do with it, but I can't help but see the nod to RMC's in other companies' new work and general attitude to try to outdo RMC). Disney had me sh*tting myself back in 2017 with the D23 announcement for their master plan till 2021. Universal is making some huge bold moves right now, and when I first heard about the up-and-coming Fantasy World (or what have you) I couldn't believe that it flew right under my nose. The land for that development is HUGE and totally changes the dynamic for Universal and Orlando, and you can't understate that. Pair that with them going back in the right direction (keeping this brief as to not get touchy about Dragon's Challenge here - I only mean to say that they seem to be going back to physical attractions like we've all longed) and the JP coaster looks to be an intense duo to the Hagrid coaster. Unreal. And that's Orlando alone. The closer we get to 2020, the more and more amazing stuff we hear about, especially internationally. Everyday I keep thinking there's no way anything more could possibly be announced but all the time I keep getting shocked. I've been out of the hobby a little bit lately as I entered college and my life changed a lot, and haven't been keeping up too much with this board like I used to. I only know there's a lot coming that I'm completely missed. But the excitement of this upcoming time is definitely reeling me back in quickly. 2020/21 is starting to feel like all the enthusiast's pipe dreams that died in the 2000's rolled up and executed all at once and I can't wait to see how this all plays out.
  9. 1. Storm Chaser - the most recent RMC in my collection. This is more what I was expecting from an RMC. I liked it notably more than the other three. 2. Outlaw Run 3. New Texas Giant 4. Goliath
  10. Oh yeah, I could see that. I justed wanted to throw some shade at it too. I was pretty mad it was / has been down all summer, including when I visited Hurricane Harbor in June. Matter of a fact, this whole year has been odd for SF ride openings. Oh topic of next year’s addition, while I have no indication of what we are getting, I finally rode an S&S Free Spin this summer, and boy I would be happy now if we got one of those.

  12. Bevause that worked out well this year. And speaking of which: Considering it’s not visible on the app’s map, am I correct in assuming it is still not open?
  13. ^I can see it. Honestly, I haven’t found a better ride than El Toro since and I’ve been around a decent bit. Storm Chaser. In fact, funnily, it is the only coaster I have ridden since El Toro that can even nudge at El Toro for my favorite coaster. Hell, its the best coaster I’ve ridden THIS YEAR, and I rode Outlaw Run in March. It places top on my list of RMCs, over Goliath, NTAG, and Outlaw Run. The airtime on this ride is just pure bliss - strong and sustained - just my preference.
  14. I don't see how anyone is thinking they’re putting two and two here together and knows what is coming. That company is not a ride manufaturer. It is a construction company that simply does amusement park installs. Read down their page and you’ll see that they’ve not only installed coasters but also other types of rides, including Mardi Gras Hangover for the park this year, Wonder Woman at SFM, etc.. So to me, it looks like you’re getting something, but have to be mistaken if you think this means what. Honestly, to me it’s still a water park addition, and you are all just overly hopeful for a coaster and not a water park addition you may never ride.
  15. How have crowd levels been on Fridays in June? Debating on going tomorrow. Every day in June has been BAFF and BAFHO so I suppose I don’t at all know what to expect. Tomorrow is the last BAFF day, however, with Saturday June 30th being just simply BAFHO. What’s intriguing is that they posted in their newsletter this week that they will be early entry for passholders June 30 - July 4. I am imagining these days will all be worse than tomorrow after the early entry is up due to what I’m expecting will be the combination of an abundance of Season Passholders and people off work; sound about right? Seems like a trap to me. Thoughts? Should I go tomorrow or should I gamble on one of the Early Entry days?
  16. That looks a hundred times better than what once stood there. I love these types of slides and couldn't be happier about this addition.
  17. It’s funny how many people premptively bitched about nausea when Joker (Total Mayhem) was announced yet no one said a word about nausea when this contraption was announced. Good for them turning that program down. These things are not something I’d like to try on any faster/longer program. This program looks identical to the one in the POV, which is just on the edge of nauseating already.
  18. The ride would not have used LSM launches till years after its opening and numerous problems. Remember, it was the FIRST LIM launched coaster, a technology that is a predecessor to LSMs.
  19. Wow, when you see pictures from that era, you can really see the similarities between the original Six Flags parks (especially in the rides and attractions).
  20. Honestly, I am not a fan of the RMC trains myself, but their design serves a purpose. How low you sit in those trains gives more security for the riders so it can do the intense maneuvers it does with lap bars.
  21. I really don’t how you can say this. And on that note I think the pov is very promising, showing good ejector air on the hills and good hangtime in all of the inversions - with an EMPTY train. The ride will only be better with riders and a proper break in.
  22. Oh wow, Cyborg is not located at all where I thought it was lol! I thought it was next to JL, where the old Music Express used to be. Same. I thought it was exactly where Music Express used to sit. This is enlightening (honest mistake for assuming the Autobahn plot was still empty). Seems like a rather large plot of land for just one ride. I’m not sure why’d they put it there, on the edge of the old Autobahn plot, were it neccesitated cutting down that patch of trees. Well then. I suppose it still goes that Twister could idealy be replaced by a Giant Discovery. I would certainly hope so.
  23. The supports on that immelmann loop look like something from straight out of Manhattan Express.
