Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread
ACES replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just wondering. Worlds of Fun doesn't have a launch yet would a Steel Venom be on there list for there next coaster? And with Six Flags St Louis they don't have a hyper coaster yet do they have room for one is Worlds of Fun bigger for land space than Six Flags St Louis? -

I read on a post about Valleyfair removing the parks carrousel it won't happen I can see them doing a referbush on it along with Enterprise. Valleyfair could follow Six Flags Magic Mountain building Scream over a parking lot taking out a few spaces and what about all the extra land at the end of the main lot by the river where the open field is what's that space going to be used for? -

Is this the year for ride removals for Cedar Fair? 2015 (1) Carowinds: Thunder Road. (July). (2) Canada's Wonderland: Sky Rider. (3) Valleyfair: Rumor Excalibur. (For Water Park Expansion). Maybe one more year. -

With the inverted and the lay out of the station and supports couldn't they raise it higher above the ground? -

Are they going to raise the land up in the back of the park like they did with Steel Venom and put higher flood walls up? Look how close the water came to Steel Venom during the flooding. I'm curious is the new access road that's supposed to go around the edge of the park going to be wider for semi trucks and delevery trucks plus is it going to be a bridge higher up from flooding? Valleyfair flooding -

Cedar Point is making annoucement in August, Carowinds announced the closure of Thunder Road in July, CFGA Vortex getting transformed into floorless coaster possibly in 2016 so this kind of makes me wonder about annoucement coming for Excalibur in August maybe it will stay open during the haunt for one last ride. I know the park is working on getting something new for our anniversary in 2016. Valleyfair can do the same thing what Dorney Park did with the removal of Hercules for a new B&M floorless coaster Hydra The Revenge Valleyfair removal of Excalibur for a new B&M inverted coaster not in Excaliburs spot but some we're in the back of the park. -

I just came back from Valleyfair this morning till mid afternoon. I must say this was the best days I have had at Valleyfair so far this season. Everything was open expect Rip Tide. Weather was perfect 80 degrees by noon. There were no school field trips today just family's walking around light crowds. The parking lot wasn't even that full. The lot was full till it reached the end of the Steel Venom brake. I went to High Roller did four re rides in the front till 10am then went to Renegade rode it for a hour. Finally I got some nice re rides. Four up front four in the back a few in the middle. Renegade was a walk on most of the morning. After Renegade went to Excalibur. This is something new. I notice that the second train for Excalibur wasn't even by the lift hill anymore maybe someone else can verify this to? Rode Excalibur once no wait time lol walk on. With the second train not even by Excalibur maybe this might be the last year? Or unless I'm not seeing things LOL. I didn't see any noticeable markings yet unless there way in the back were we cant see them? After Excalibur went to Mad Mouse walk on no wait time rode It once. Next was Wild Thing. In a 1/2 hour I did four rides up in the front on Wild Thing again it was a walk on. On the way to the Extreme Swing I saw Frazier cleaning up one of the dinning areas said hello nothing special just chatted for a few minutes after went on the Extreme Swing rode it three times in a 1/2 again no wait time after went to Power Tower. Did space shot twice re rides and once on Turbo Drop. Saw Captain Unknown gave me a high five along with every one else. Next was Corkscrew walk right on to the front row seat less then a five minute wait after Corkscrew rode The Monster had a little more wait times because it normally takes longer to load but was under ten minutes once I got off Monster went and got on the train took it to the front of the park got off headed to Steel Venom was probably the longest wait time yet twenty minutes one ride then went to northern lights walk right on again LOL no wait time and my final ride for the day was the Enterprise five minute wait came up from Steel Venom saw Frazier again waved at me. I can say this was again was one of the best days so far this season visiting Valleyfair the whole park wasn't that busy no school field trips almost everything was a walk on under ten minute wait times and perfect weather to. I can only imagine if and when we get our new B&M inverted coaster what that would do to Valleyfair. Walking back to my car I notice some people were here from Ohio, Wisconsin and Chicago. -

Power Tower Would have shorter lines on weekends if they ran both turbo drop towers is there a reason only one turbo drop and space shot running short staff? Wild Thing Runs two trains daily cuts down the wait time. Renegade High Roller and Corkscrew Weekends can they run both trains in cycles early in the morning till the lines build up? Re rides would be nice. On Renegade early in the morning what time does the second train get put on until the line reaches the end of the tunnel? Anyone notice on Valleyfair commercial they show a inverted coaster kind of interesting even though they don't have one yet. Hints? -

Your kidding about removing High Roller for a Boomerang? That's a joke. High Roller was the first parks coaster and it's a classic they did a paint job a few year ago did some new re tracking the coaster this year is a lot smoother this yeasr. Will never happen. One thing Valleyfair can't remove any coasters they need to add some only one I see them demolishing is The Excalibur rumor for the soak city water park. I think screamscape is certain about Excalibur leaving and the rumor for Fury 325 they got that right will see if there right with Valleyfair. And Dorney Park removed Hercules for a new B&M floorless coaster Hydra The Revenge Valleyfair can do the same with Excalibur new B&M inverted. -
Theme Park Three Mistakes
ACES replied to Rollercoaster Rider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Valleyfair This one I don't like removing Excalibur for a new parking lot but Valleyfair must see they need one rumor expanding the soak city water park I'm hoping they should replace the Excalibur with a new B&M inverted coaster in the same year feel like the park is going backwards then foward. Look what Dorney Park did with removing Hercules they added a new B&M Hydra Floorless coaster. -

Savage/Prior Lake Hwy 13 & 42 area season pass holder twenty minutes away I normally visit the park a lot weekend 9:00am till about 1:00 more time on sun mon off. I spend about a hour on Renegade. I work nights get off work to ride Renegade for a while shinny new inverted Maybe the markings are further back were we can't see them. Parking lot I would say was 2/3 full around noon maybe we'll have a lot of people this summer I rode northern lights a chatted with a few people said they were from South Dakota visited Mall of America and Cedar Point said Valleyfair is a nice family park to visit but they also said they need a Banshee, Patriot or Raptor full sized inverted for the park. Thought I would share that. I normally wear a black shirt blue jeans black sun glasses spot me walking around. -

Valleyfair already owns the wetlands they just need to get the permits finally approved according to captain unknowns post they already have orange small survey flags down by the drain were thunder canyon and over by Excalibur and high roller were the new employee parking lot is supposed to be I'm thinking there going to have to get the permits approved if there's already markings don't markings mean something maybe this is a early start. I'm going to take a look this weekend. If the markings are up will they stay up all summer and can we be expecting annoucement? Survey markings kind of gets me excited because something is coming? -

I'm making a trip out to Six Flags Great America from twin cities first weekend of August what are some good motels or hotels close by around $60 a night? Does Gurnee have any for that price or are they expenssive and what are the crowds like first week in August. I'm also doing the fast lane this time thanks.

One other thing soak city could expand on is adding a large seating area with blue matts recliners I tried walking around find a open one but they were all full by noon on a hot day I have seen the water park at capacity maybe with the rumor Excalibur leaving new parking lot add a very large seating area with blue matts recliners umbrellas to shade from the sun if because your going to need more blue matts recliners seating area if your going to make a bigger larger water park. -

Ok I just got home from soak city. I did a few rides on High Roller a couple on Wild Thing and Renegade before the soak city opens. I'm going to tell you like VF15 said the force is like the third launch of steel venom goes 3-2-1 launch then they drop you. I was really nervous once I got dropped down I had water splashing in my face had a hard time seeing lol felt like a long slide then when I got to the bottom I got up I almost fell back down lol once I got off I got a terrible head ake I did what the lifeguards said cross your legs arms. My head ake didn't go away so I headed out once I started walking to my car my stomach started getting really upset when I was driving home ac on laid down then I threw up a lot force of the slide? Laid back down again took more Advil threw up once more I wasn't ready for it and someone here said there neck shoulder hurts? Right now I have a bad head ake stiff neck. Walking up the steps on a hot day is a challange. There fun but the force? I would bring some Advil going to lay down more the main lot was 3/3 full by noon getting full on a Tuesday with school field trips nice to see the park buys. -

One thing I would like to see is the Enterprise get a new paint job this upcoming off season maybe with red wheel and white gondolas with red white and blue new LED lights. Update the que line. I think they might relocate the looping star ship and move the soak city enterance some were else in the water park and perhaps taking out the volleyball court to make room for the next water park expansion. Move the looping star ship in front of the park scramblers spot ideal spot could the star ship also get a new paint job? New paint job for Enterprise. -

I'm going to try The Wave first for a early ride entry been along time since I've been on it ride Rip Tide a few times along with Thunder Canyon before the water park opens few rides on High Roller and Renegade I'm excited to ride Raging Rapids been a while along with the new slide tower. I did meet Garyman6 today. -

Anyone ever been on Rip Cord? I would like to know what the feeling is like the first time like sky diving? I want to try a flight sometime but to nervous. I like The Extreme Swing it's one of my favorite rides is it the same feeling? I have ridden almost anything expect a Rip Cord. I'd rather take a 300 foot sling shot then a Rip Cord because I feel more secure then on a mat? I'd like to see a sling shot at Valleyfair maybe under the Wild Thing turn around or replace the Rip Cord for a sling shot bet you will get more riders to ride? -

Would there be room for a dark ride by the Wild Thing que line were the Tilt A Whirl use to sit? You could easily move the Wild Thing que line move it to the right by the station and were the exit photos are to make room for a dark ride building and have the track go on top of the train bridge and go down were the arcade sits remove the arcade to make room for a dark ride. Or one other thought would the Galaxy Theatre be big enough building for a dark ride and move the live shows two locations referbush the amphitheater for live shows or use the Red Garder saloon I think at one time there were live shows in there. Location for a new Dark Ride move the Wild Thing que line towards the right by the station and Wild Thing photos have the enterance over by the Wild Thing photo booth
