  1. Just arrived at Valleyfair steady crowd walk right on Steel Venom five minute wait.
  2. My opinion I think this is a wild rumor right now with Excalibur being removed sounds right with the removal of the second train and the computer braking systems not agreeing about running two trains I think the days of Excalibur are counting down to retirement I think they have a plan in place for the Soak City water park expansion and Excalibur is in the way. I think there going to run the new service road along the train tracks by hwy 101 along the edge of the park to the employee parking area and is the new proposed employee lot going to happen? Also I think there going to have to raise the service road up or put flood walls around it for flooding. The back of the area which they want to remove Excalibur for the Soak City water park and scream scape said it was going to be a very large water park expansion to. This seems like a really big project if they got there permitts approved or not? I'd like to see some annoucement on this. And does anyone know what's going on with the train are they getting a new one?
  3. Building a small coaster over by were the old tilt a whirl spot was and removing the arcade to make room for one? Wouldn't the train tunnel in the way? I would think they would have to build the supports over the top of the train tunnel to make room there. There is space available for a small coaster over were the old tilt a whirl spot is. What kind of small coaster are we talking about in that area? Would a Sky Rocket like at Kennywood fit in there or a spinning dragons like at Worlds of Fun and a Fairly Odd Coaster at Nickelodeon Universe possibly could fit in there to. And a Black Widow thrill ride like at Kennywood could also fit there. Room for a small coaster?
  4. I got my first rides of the season at night on Renegade this weekend. Very cool at night time back in the woods. Anyone who rides Renegade at night you might want to cover your mouth there's a chance a bug might attack you LOL. Renegade at night seems a lot faster to and the park was rather busy on Saturday good crowd.
  5. Just arrived back from my vacation and back at Valleyfair this evening main lot is 2/3 full had to park in the back rather busy. In line at Steel Venom about twenty minute wait.
  6. After reading all this I'm enjoying my stay at Six Flags Great America, Goliath was an amazing roller coaster just a lap bar with inversions along with Outlaw Run. Getting dark now get back this weekend to ride Renegade at night along with Extreme Swing at night. Sunday I'll be back at Valleyfair most of the day.
  7. I'm at Six Flags Great America right now till Saturday waiting in line on Goliath I wouldn't mind a Goliath at Valleyfair or a Outlaw Run believe Outlaw Run cost around $10 million would that be in Valleyfairs budget range for a new coaster? I also wouldn't mind a Batman The Ride either I'm heading there next after I ride Goliath looks like fun.
  8. A few names I came up with: Minnesota River Flyers, River Flyers, Wild Flyers (Named after Minnesota Wild hockey team). Also what does anyone think about Valleyfair building a on site hotel resort with swimming pool and indoor water slides? Adventureland has one plus Dollywood just open there new resort DreamMore Resort. Valleyfair could use that entire land down by Valleyfair housing area and use that land it's always empty for the most part put it to use I know that land was for over flow parking but when was the last time it was used and being full they have a field down by the river at the end of the main lot for over flow parking they could use. I think Valleyfair should have a on site hotel resort follow up what other parks are doing just an idea.
  9. I'm doing Soak City all day today. Raging Rapids and Lazy river going to give the new slides a second try. Security is checking bags with a metal dectector. McDonald's special event today.
  10. Why don't we hold the coaster debate till 2016 or this up coming off season? We can rule out a coaster will not happen in 2016. There haven't been any signs at all this season or markings just the rumor of Excalibur leaving for a parking lot for soak city new access road I'm still 50/50 on that one. I'm hopeing in 2017 a new coaster. Didn't the permitts for the haunt building cost $100,000? I thought RCJunkie said that and the price tag for a new Larson Flyers is about $200,000 sound right. So if we were to get a new Larson Flyers for next year which I'm betting on with the new haunt attraction plus the flyers that would be about $300,000 dollars for 2016 I'm just speculating. A name for a Larson Flyers one I came up with: River Flyers Minnesota River Flyers Wild Flyers (named after the Minnesota Wild hockey team) anyone like this name?
  11. In the month of August for early re rides I believe Wild Thing, Supercat, Rip Tide, Power Tower, Extreme Swing will all be open at 9:30am. If you want re rides get to the park around 9:15am gates open early at 9:30am for season pass holders. I was there this morning did the Extreme Swing and Power Tower twice on each re rides before the park open. And if you want to spend time on Renegade I always hit that right at 10am when the park opens you can stay in your seat with out getting off unless theres someone in your line you can get off and go to a open seat re ride twice then you have to walk around again. I do Renegade first in the morning lines are real short. There are good hotels down by hwy 169 and they have a Travel Lodge in Shakopee on hwy 101 in town. Valleyfair on site hotel near Valleyfair housing I'm curious does anyone think they should build a new on site hotel resort with a swimming pool and water slides? Adventureland in Iowa has a on site hotel and resort I think that would be a good thing for Valleyfair to have? What were they doing with the land clearing by the Valleyfair housing during the off season? Some kind of project? Land Clearing by the Valleyfair housing area this past off season? Maybe either new doorms or a hotel resort for Valleyfair?
  12. Main lot filling up busy Saturday it's only 11:20am. Getting full
  13. Looks like a hot Saturday all four toll lanes have lines all the way to the highway gates, line of traffic left lane coming from east bound on hwy 101 trying to enter Valleyfair. Hot this weekend big crowd main lot is getting 2/3 full already. Renegade running one train now assuming they will add a second train later on. All four toll lanes line of traffic coming in at 11:20
  14. Right now it doesn't look like Valleyfair is getting anything new for 2016 but I could be wrong. Would we have seen markings even for a new thrill ride? I haven't seen any signs of markings for a new roller coaster or a new thrill ride so far this season. There is still time for a water park expansion and adding some new thrill rides. Maybe they have something already planned out. I'm betting on a Larson Flyers and water park expansion for 2016. It's late in July now I would say we can rule out a new coaster for 2016 I'm thinking well see something in 2017 just speculating on that.
  15. I like the looks of the new flat ride for Nickelodeon Universe. Revolution 20 scream scape is reporting.
  16. What was the name of the roller coaster in one of the photos? So the wetland project is a pretty big development for the back of the park then?
  17. I think that to know one knows it's just speculating
  18. I like the photo that VF15 posted. Does anyone have any photos of Valleyfair from 1976 when the park first opend up?
  19. I need to ask some of you locals who visit the park on a regular basis. I'm going to Six Flags Great America July 30 August 3 for 4 days. I got the Regular Pass which includes the water park and I will do the water park if it will be a humid day one of the four days I will be there. Buying the Regular Pass acts like a season pass? Will that save me money for my four visits? Regular Pass doesn't say anything on parking? 4 night stay was $189.17 at the Travel Lodge in Waukegan 12 minutes from Six Flags Great America on Grand Ave. And does Grand Ave run right by Six Flags Great America? Saturday for sure I'm buying the flash pass.
  20. I agree with VF15 about a coaster for 2016 we would have seen some markings and land clearing by now. I think it's to late in the season to get a new coaster next year but who knows maybe they already have something planned out for 2016 maybe they will surprise us my prediction a new flat ride Larson Flyers for 2016 and another water park expansion. I spoke with Dave operations manager ask him how much a Larson Flyers ride costs he said around $200,000 sound about right? And he told me Valleyfair actually had a Larson Flyers ride a long time ago? Anyone remember what year? And did anything get done with a meeting with Matt CEO being here it was just for one day on Monday. Is the coaster craze for season pass holders to?
  21. Renegade running two trains this morning the last three days running two trains. Park has a steady crowd this morning to back area of the main lot is filling up.
  22. Anyone see this? When I came to the park this morning this was something new they handed them out at the toll lanes I wasn't at the park Sunday so I'm not sure if they handed this out or not I was at the park Saturday never saw this. Reminder.
  23. I'm at Valleyfair now watching to see if I spot the CEO Matt haven't seen him yet. Valleyfair is doing a special event McDonald's security is checking bags at the front gates and the park is more buysier for a Monday and happy to report on a Monday morning Renegade is running two trains no wait times. For this season on Renegade at 11:00am I rode it for 500 times for the 2015 season my count so far. I'm going back in to get something to eat and see if I can spot Matt and Frazier walking. I came back in the park just after noon went by the wave I saw Frazier said hello and I did see the Matt walking in the park right now.
  24. Monday is my off day I'm going half the day and part on Tuesday to does anyone know what time he will be there? I'm going to be there both days normally from 9am till 3pm. I usually ride Renegade for two hours. If see Matt and I happen to say hello I may mention a new B&M inverted for Valleyfair .
  25. I rode one of the turbo drops this morning I notice one of them didn't slow this time? All three towers are running.
